Lu Ren formed a voluntary Soul Spirit Contract with the Ice Empress, saved the Snow Empress, and led the Sun Moon team into the Continental Tournament. After Shrek’s attempts to keep him from the finals and the brutal team battle, Lu Ren won the championship and set Ma Xiaotao on a path toward the Holy Spirit Cult.

• The Ice Empress chose Lu Ren over Tian Meng, and after learning the Snow Empress was in danger, she joined Lu Ren in searching for her.
• Lu Ren became the Ice Empress’s Soul Spirit, gained two orange Soul Rings, and rescued the Snow Empress from a God-Sealing Platform.
• Lu Ren brought both Empresses to Mingdu, reunited with his companions, and created Kurourushi, a powerful Cursed Spirit that later attacked Shrek’s team.
• After Kurourushi killed and crippled Shrek students, Mu En ordered Xuan Zi to find it and told Shrek to recruit Lu Ren or kill him if he refused.
• At the tournament, Yan Shaozhe tried to recruit Ji Juechen and threaten Lu Ren, but Zhang Peng intervened, and Lu Ren prepared the Sun Moon team to face Shrek.
• Shrek tried to keep Lu Ren from the finals by luring him away, but Lu Ren and his allies rescued Ji Juechen and killed the Soul Douluo and Super Douluo sent against him.
• Lu Ren returned to the arena, killed Shrek fighters, and used Reverse Cursed Technique Release to revive Chen Fei and Chen An before Shrek conceded the individual matches.
• Lu Ren fought Shrek alone in the team battle and killed all seven opponents with Malevolent Shrine, winning the championship for the Sun Moon Royal Soul Engineer Academy.
• After Yan Shaozhe attacked him, Lu Ren warned him about Xuan Zi’s danger and revealed that he had kept Ma Xiaotao alive as an Evil Soul Master, asking Zhang Peng to alert the Holy Spirit Cult.

Lu Ren and his allies destroyed Shrek’s forces in Star Luo City, then returned to Mingdu as Shrek retreated and the Holy Spirit Cult seized Ma Xiaotao. Lu Ren investigated the cult and killed six of its elders, prompting Zhongli Wu to seek help from the Offering Hall.

• Lu Ren, Kurourushi, the Snow Empress, Zhang Peng, and Du Busi overwhelmed Shrek’s forces, killing Xuan Zi, Yan Shaozhe, Xian Lin'er, and Xiao Xiao.
• Lu Ren spared Huo Yuhao and Wang Dong’er, divided the recovered Soul Bones, and helped Zhang Peng loosen his cultivation bottleneck before leaving for the Sun Moon Empire.
• Wang Dong’er returned with Ma Xiaotao and reported the massacre to Mu En, who announced that Shrek would retreat behind the scenes.
• Zhongli Wu led the Holy Spirit Cult’s attack that captured Ma Xiaotao, while Kurourushi abducted Bei Bei under Lu Ren’s orders.
• Lu Ren strengthened his cultivation and domain techniques, destroyed Holy Spirit Cult bases in Mingdu, and identified the cult’s Holy Emperor as Tang San.
• Lu Ren defeated Ji Juechen with anti-domain cursed spirits, then joined him to confront the Xishui Alliance after receiving Nana’s intelligence.
• Lu Ren killed Nangong Wan, Masked Douluo, Myriad Souls Douluo, Nether Thunder Douluo, Netherworld Douluo, and Abomination Douluo.
• Lu Ren and Ji Juechen concealed the battle’s traces and headed back to check on Ye Guyi, while Zhongli Wu enlisted three Offering Hall powerhouses to investigate the elders’ deaths.

Lu Ren established the Spirit Pagoda and its Soul Spirit system with Xu Tianran’s support, placing Nana in charge. As the Holy Spirit Cult moved against them, Lu Ren and his allies attacked its forces, leaving the battle against the remaining offerings unresolved.

• Lu Ren absorbed the Evil Eye Tyrant soul bone, fused with the Snow Empress as his Soul Spirit, and subdued Mahoraga through repeated battles and experiments.
• Lu Ren and Nana began sheltering children with Evil Martial Souls, and Lu Ren bonded Xiao An with a Cursed Spirit to prove that Cursed Spirits could serve as Soul Spirits.
• Lu Ren demonstrated the Soul Spirit system to Jing Hongchen and Xu Tianran, and the empire agreed to fund the independent Spirit Pagoda with Nana as its first master.
• Zhongli Wu tried to recruit Lu Ren and later sent Wuyun to abduct Nana, but the Snow Empress captured Wuyun while Lu Ren led an assault on a Holy Spirit Cult stronghold.
• Lu Ren, Ye Guyi, and Ji Juechen fought the returning offerings, and Mahoraga killed the Second Worship while Lu Ren knocked the Fourth Offering unconscious.
• The Third Offering admitted to killing innocents, refused Lu Ren’s offer to join the Spirit Pagoda, and destroyed his own soul, while the Fourth Offering revealed his loyalty to Zhongli Wu.
• The Fifth Offering broke free of Kurourushi’s domain and attacked Lu Ren, while the Fourth Offering struck Lu Ren with shadow spikes.

Lu Ren defeated the Holy Spirit Cult’s leaders while the Spirit Pagoda’s allies held off their forces, and Mu En arrived to challenge him. The arc ended with Lu Ren unleashing Maximum: Uzumaki against Mu En, Ye Xishui, and Long Xiaoyao, then facing them directly.

• Fourth Offering betrayed Fifth Offering, then killed himself, while Lu Ren and Ye Guyi dealt with the aftermath and found Ji Juechen still fighting Sleep Demon Douluo.
• Ji Juechen overcame Sleep Demon Douluo and joined the Spirit Pagoda as Lu Ren’s lifelong bodyguard, and Lu Ren also recruited Wuyun after defeating him and planting a Spiritual Seed in his Sea of Consciousness.
• Zhongli Wu withdrew the Holy Spirit Cult from Mingdu, and Lu Ren tasked Wuyun with taking over its vacant territory while he began forming a positive-energy Soul Core.
• During Lu Ren’s five-month seclusion, Mu En restored his strength with the Golden Ancient Tree and flew toward Mingdu, while Ye Xishui and Long Xiaoyao led the Holy Spirit Cult against the Spirit Pagoda’s defenders.
• Ye Guyi’s domain helped the defenders resist the cult, but Ye Xishui killed her before Round Deer resurrected her, and the Snow Empress then carried Ye Xishui and Long Xiaoyao away to fight in the mountains.
• Lu Ren emerged at Rank 87, healed his allies, and killed Feng Ling and Zhongli Wu after defeating their attacks, and meanwhile, Mu En confronted Du Busi and Mahoraga on the way to Mingdu.
• Du Busi and Mahoraga delayed Mu En, with Mahoraga adapting to his attacks, until Mu En recognized the delay and joined Ye Xishui and Long Xiaoyao, and the three agreed to fight Lu Ren together.
• Lu Ren summoned fifteen hundred Cursed Spirits with the Ice Empress and Snow Empress and fired Maximum: Uzumaki, which carved through the mountains, and Mu En shielded Ye Xishui and Long Xiaoyao, and Lu Ren declared them the challengers.
