With just one glance, Zhang Jue guessed it. "Doctor."
The first question was very simple, and Tan Yaya drew a stick figure.
A stick figure with a stethoscope around its neck.
Very clear and simple.
The second question was harder.
When they saw the prompt, several guests looked thoughtful.
The livestream comments were discussing it too.
[That's not easy to draw.]
[This prompt really fits the show, though.]
[It's not that bad. As long as you've played games like this, it's not hard to draw what you're trying to convey.]
[Wait, has nobody noticed Xie Yuan? Look at him. Does he look like he's filming a show?]
[I noticed ages ago. Young Master Xie really lives up to his name. The other guests are working themselves to death while he coasts the whole time, with snacks and juice too. He's the clear winner.]
[Ha, how embarrassing. Who does he think he is? All the other guests are doing their tasks properly, but he's sitting there like a lord, doing nothing.]
[It's not like he did nothing. At least he beat President Gu into the hospital.]
That comment immediately sent the discussion off track.
[Hahahaha, thinking about how President Gu looked, I almost feel sorry for him.]
[Seriously, isn't the production team going to do anything? They're letting Xie Dog hit people on the show—does he think the production team belongs to him?]
[You haven't watched President Gu's livestream, have you? He's full of energy right now. There's nothing wrong with him at all. He's already on his way back.]
[He had it coming, okay? He struck first. Was Young Master Xie not supposed to fight back?]
The comments broke into an argument, while Xie Yuan remained utterly relaxed. He only glanced at the game's progress from time to time.
Zhang Jue and Tan Yaya were fairly in sync. For most of the drawings, they could get the answer in two or three guesses.
They finished with seven points, which counted as a high score.
Xie Yuan and Mu Ze were up next.
Before they went up, Mu Ze asked, "Do you want to guess or draw?"
Xie Yuan answered without hesitation. "Draw."
"I don't want to think."
Mu Ze's gaze softened a little. "All right. I'll do my best to guess correctly, and we'll aim for first place."
Once they were in position, the host drew a slip of paper from the box.
Looking at the prompt on the paper, Xie Yuan picked up the pen and began drawing on the board.
While he drew, the broadcast director deliberately kept the board out of the shot.
This prompted a flurry of speculation in the comments.
[How well do you think Young Master Xie can draw?]
[The director won't let us see. Don't tell me Xie Dog draws like a kindergartner.]
[Hahahaha, looks like Xie Dog's drawing is pretty average.]
[What young master? His family just has a bit more money. When it comes to talent, our Yueyue is still better.]
[Exactly. Yueyue studied drawing. I've seen her work on her account before. She's even better than some formally trained art students.]
[That's hilarious. Are you fans always this confident? Better than trained artists? Have you never seen an actual art student?]
[Formally trained? According to that Su girl herself, she came from a mountain village, her family was poor, and she only finished university thanks to financial support from others. What did she have to pay for art lessons? Her fake-innocent act?]
[Hahahaha, whoever said her fake-innocent act, are you trying to make me die laughing so you can inherit my Huabei Microloan debt?]
As the comments erupted into another argument, Xie Yuan had already finished the first drawing.
A simple landscape appeared vividly on the board.
At the sight of the landscape on the board, the set fell silent.
Even the host and staff stared blankly for quite a while before recovering.
The host, Teacher He, looked amazed. "Teacher Xie, are you a formally trained art student?"
"If I hadn't been watching the whole time, I'd have thought you'd spent two or three hours drawing this."
Tan Yaya and Zhang Jue leaned forward, looking as though they wanted to press right up against it for a better look.
The two whispered to each other. "Wow, Teacher Xie is incredible."
"Drawing something so beautiful in such a short time. I'm so jealous."
A flash of amazement passed through Mu Ze's eyes too. He truly hadn't expected Xie Yuan to draw so well.
Still, he wasted no time and gave his answer.
"Green mountains and clear waters."
Teacher He hurriedly drew the next prompt.
The comments fell silent for quite a while before picking up again.
[Wow, that's gorgeous. Did he really draw it in such a short time?]
[Young Master Xie has been hiding his talents.]
[Where are the people who said Young Master Xie couldn't draw? Tell me, does that slap in the face hurt?]
[Hahahahaha, hurt? Their faces are probably swollen by now.]
[How could they possibly show themselves now? They're too ashamed.]
[As an art student, let me say this: even with systematic training, you couldn't draw like Young Master Xie without talent.]
Meanwhile, Xie Yuan had already finished the second drawing.
They had thought the first picture was stunning enough, but seeing the board again, they still couldn't help marveling.
Mu Ze's eyes seemed to shine as he gave his answer. "Phoenix."
On the board, simple strokes outlined a lifelike phoenix, the feathers of its tail particularly vivid.
Tan Yaya stared at the drawing, lost in thought.
Noticing her expression, Zhang Jue leaned close and whispered in her ear, "Like it?"
"I'll ask Teacher Xie later if he can draw one for you."
Tan Yaya came back to herself, a little embarrassed. "Wouldn't that be a bit inappropriate?"
Seeing her gaze settle on the drawing, Zhang Jue smiled. "It's fine. I'll just ask. There's no harm if he says no."
"All right, then." Tan Yaya nodded.
The comments marveled.
[Wow, it looks so much like one. Even I could guess that.]
[That non-celebrity is so lucky. Having someone like Young Master Xie as a teammate must be wonderful.]
[Wait, you all switched sides way too fast. Who was saying Young Master Xie wasn't a good teammate earlier?]
[Not me. I've always liked Young Master Xie.]
[I get it now. Young Master Xie is a gaming expert.]
[Wow, I noticed too. Young Master Xie really knows how to play games.]
[Ha, he's just ridiculously lucky and happened to get things he knows. I don't believe he can keep getting that lucky.]
[So what if Xie Dog is good? I still don't like him. Anyone who bullies Yueyue is a bad person.]
Behind the scenes at Livestream Backstage, Director Ma was also amazed by Xie Yuan's drawings.
Although he didn't know much about painting, he had enough discernment. Not just anyone could produce a drawing with such spirit in so little time.
He turned and instructed the Deputy Director, "Have someone edit Teacher Xie's drawings into a separate video and post it."
The prompts Xie Yuan drew were all fairly difficult, but with his drawing skills, it was easy to recognize what each one was.
With Mu Ze being very smart as well, the two made almost no mistakes and easily secured an impressive nine points.
Wang Zihua and Liu Yan were next. With such a fine performance preceding theirs, they were under a lot of pressure.
The two discussed it.
Wang Zihua came from a wealthy family, but he wasn't the heir. The Wang family didn't expect much of him, so there were many things he couldn't do.
He had never studied art, so in the end, they could only leave it to Liu Yan.
Liu Yan had studied a little drawing. Although she wasn't as good as Tan Yaya, she could still draw fairly well.
The first prompt was very simple: an everyday item.
Liu Yan drew it quite accurately.
Wang Zihua stared at the picture on the board and racked his brains, but still couldn't guess what it was.
He shook his head.
Teacher He revealed the answer. "Egg white separator."
