After hearing the Doctor's words, the other end fell silent for a long time before answering.

"Judging by the video you sent, that Contained Anomaly seems extremely dangerous!"

The Doctor said in a grave voice.

"But he hasn't shown any hostility toward humans!"

"When he was taken into containment, the Cityfire Squad shot at him, and he didn't fight back!"

The voice on the other end of the communicator grew somewhat somber.

"I think he needs further observation!"

Hearing this, the Doctor merely shrugged.

"That works too!"

The voice on the other end spoke again.

"By the way! His Ontological Rank seems very high?"

The Doctor adjusted his monocle.

"He gets along remarkably well with the Prison Doctor!"

"I suspect the two of them might have the same Ontological Rank!"

The sound of tapping on a desk came through again.

"They have the same Ontological Rank, and the Prison Doctor possesses a faint trace of divinity!"

"Does that mean humans can possess divinity too?"

The voice grew somewhat urgent.

The Doctor shook his head and said flatly.

"292 provides no basis for comparison!"

"Besides, whether he actually possesses divinity still needs to be studied!"

The voice on the other end carried a hint of disappointment, but even more anticipation, a striking contradiction.

"Research this as soon as possible!"

"If we can confirm that humans can possess divinity, it will be a feast for humanity!"

The communication was soon cut off.

The Doctor's gaze was indifferent as he adjusted his monocle.

"It will also be a disaster for humanity!"

On his desk lay an analysis report on Lu Xiao's flesh and blood.

At the end of the report, it read.

"The target's flesh and blood are suspected to contain divinity!"

The Doctor shook his head. He picked up the analysis report and put it in the shredder without a second thought.

Then he rubbed his forehead.

He had personally sent the person who wrote that report to have their memory erased.

Then he took out a blank report.

"Target 292 exhibits abnormal cellular activity and is suspected to have been cursed!"

After finishing the report, the Doctor locked it in his desk drawer.

Then he summoned a staff member.

"Begin the box experiment on Sequence 292 immediately!"

Soon, Lu Xiao was brought to a special containment chamber.

Lu Xiao looked curiously at the containment chamber, with its layers upon layers, curiosity in his eyes.

The containment chamber resembled three boxes of different sizes.

The largest box enclosed the two smaller boxes, like nesting dolls.

Each room was furnished differently.

Lu Xiao was brought into the smallest room.

A staff member told him.

"Number 292, you will be contained here for the next seven days!"

After giving him the instructions, the staff member closed the door.

Only after the staff member left did Lu Xiao begin examining the room.

The room was not large; in fact, it seemed rather cramped.

There was a large floor-to-ceiling window in the wall through which he could see the next room.

With his dead-fish eyes open, Lu Xiao sat down on the iron bed in the center of the room.

Meanwhile.

In front of the surveillance monitor, the Doctor gave an order.

"After one day, send two expendables to provoke 292!"

On the screen, Lu Xiao sat on the bed, growing drowsy.

His head drooped, and before long, faint snores could be heard.

"He just fell asleep like that?"

A staff member asked in disbelief.

"An obvious outcome!"

And so, Lu Xiao spent his first day in the containment room.

Early the next morning, noisy voices reached Lu Xiao's ears.

Lu Xiao slowly opened his eyes and looked toward the window in the wall.

In his view, two humans wearing yellow vests were laughing and chatting.

They were very loud.

"Old Wang! This room is much more comfortable than our cell!"

The speaker lay on a soft couch.

The man called Old Wang held a stemmed glass.

It contained a bright red liquid.

"Who would've thought we'd even get red wine here! Hahaha!"

He laughed loudly.

"Two death row inmates like us getting treatment like this! I wouldn't have dared dream of it!"

Old Wang sneered.

"That man in the suit and sunglasses told me that as long as I spend thirty days in this damned place, they'll dismiss my case!"

"I've already been here thirteen days. Seventeen more and I can get out!"

The other man teased.

"Old Wang, you don't actually believe his bullshit, do you?"

"With all the murders you've committed, executing you thirty times wouldn't be enough!"

Old Wang said nothing, merely sipping the red wine in his glass.

The other man suddenly said.

"Oh, right! I heard yesterday was that kid next door's thirtieth day!"

"I don't know if he got out, but I haven't seen him since!"

Old Wang's gaze sharpened, and he asked gravely.

"What did that kid do?"

The man thought carefully.

"I heard he sexually assaulted more than a dozen children. He was originally sentenced to death!"

Hearing this, Old Wang spat.

"Piece of trash!"

Criminals of that kind were the most despised even in prison.

The two men's voices were not actually very loud.

But to Lu Xiao's ears, they sounded extremely noisy.

Clearly, there was probably some means of amplifying sound in the room.

The noise left Lu Xiao somewhat irritated.

He raised his hand and shattered the window with a single punch.

The two chatting men were startled by the sound of shattering glass.

From where they stood, they could not see Lu Xiao inside the small room.

Having someone suddenly appear now was quite frightening.

Lu Xiao brushed the glass fragments off himself and walked toward them with a smile.

"My friends! You're disturbing my rest! Could you keep your voices down?"

He gave them a friendly smile.

Seeing that he was a teenager, the two exchanged a glance and burst into laughter.

"Old Wang! Did you hear that? This kid wants us to keep our voices down!"

"Hahaha! I'm not deaf. I heard him perfectly well!"

As he spoke, Old Wang walked up and grabbed Lu Xiao by the collar.

"Kid! I don't know where you came from! But if you keep spouting bullshit!"

"I don't mind stuffing you back into your mother's belly!"

He looked at Lu Xiao with a contemptuous expression.

The other man looked on as though watching a show.

"Old Wang! Go easy on him. We wouldn't want to scare this little fellow!"

Old Wang turned and glared at him before looking back at Lu Xiao.

"Little fellow, while I'm still in a good mood, apologize nicely, and I'll pretend none of this ever happened!"

"Otherwise..."

Squelch!

Before he could finish, disbelief appeared on his face.

The intense pain instantly made him release his grip on Lu Xiao's collar.

He slowly retreated several steps, his eyes filled with terror.

Lu Xiao grinned.

"You're really too loud!"

His smile was utterly bizarre, and he held a mangled lump of flesh in his hand.

That mangled lump of flesh was Old Wang's tongue.
