• Chainsaw Man returned empty-handed, and Driver drove Lu Xiao through the Gate while Dart stayed behind with Chainsaw Man.
• Doctor told Lu Xiao to keep Serial Number 097 with him, then met the arriving Investigation Team, which included Adam.
• Lu Xiao found the Omniscient Mirror in his containment room and learned Doctor had made a deal with it.

Lu Xiao escaped custody after the Doctor helped him trigger a containment breach at the C03 Containment Facility. As inmates and dangerous contained entities began to move freely, the Driver arrived to take Lu Xiao on a new mission.

• Lu Xiao used the Bone Spur to incapacitate the staff and wound Adam, giving him a chance to escape the containment room.
• The Doctor ordered the emergency plan activated, sealing the facility and opening the expendables' cell doors, sparking a riot.
• The Prison Doctor and Ivan opened containment rooms D107 and R019, releasing a clay figure and drawing a soldier toward a mask.
• The clay figure killed an expendable who had hidden in room D107.
• The Driver stopped beside Lu Xiao and told him the Doctor had a new mission.

Dante took Lu Xiao and the others on a mission to find and recapture 292, who had escaped with 301, while Doctor blamed Adam for the escape. The group struggled to find a way to reach Japan, until Xiao Yu identified a small jet in Doctor’s blueprints and Lu Xiao claimed he could fly it.

• Doctor ordered Dante to work with 303 to locate and recapture 292, and Dante brought Lu Xiao along toward Japan.
• Doctor accused Adam of mishandling 292, while Adam threatened to bring charges against Doctor.
• Driver showed the group Doctor’s blueprints for transforming vehicles into military aircraft and weapons, but admitted he could not understand them.
• Xiao Yu explained that she had studied mechanical materials before becoming a Prison Warden and said she wanted to follow the path her deceased Prison Warden parents had walked.
• Xiao Yu found a Gulfstream 500 blueprint that could get the group to Japan, and Lu Xiao claimed he knew how to fly it.

Lu Xiao and the others decided to search a sealed town near Magic City for Ghost-Faced Moth larvae, which might strengthen Xiao Yu’s mental power enough to transform the vehicle. Dante revealed that his first mission there had cost his instructor’s life, then used his military credentials to get them through the checkpoint; they arrived at the camp to meet its commander.

• Lu Xiao recalled that Prison Doctor had said a Ghost-Faced Moth larva could increase mental power, and Dante remembered a sealed town where his first mission had targeted a Ghost-Faced Moth Brood Nest.
• Dante said his instructor had died during that mission and that the Brood Nest had been destroyed at great cost, while Liuguang worried the moths might have returned.
• Lu Xiao insisted they could search the town, and Liuguang suggested they might have a chance because Lu Xiao carried a Bone Spur.

• Dante identified the group as the Prison Guard, and Liu Guoliang verified their credentials and agreed to assist them.

Lu Xiao and his companions reached the Ghost-Faced Moth Empress’s nest while Dante recounted how Butler had defeated the empress with a single-use contained object. Inside the tunnels, the group discovered countless human faces embedded in the ceiling.

• Dante explained that heavy weapons and contained objects had failed to kill the Ghost-Faced Moth Empress, so the Doctor proposed giving Intestine-Blocking Medicine to Sequence 077 - Butler and sending him into its mouth.
• Dante led Lu Xiao’s group to the nest, while Driver decided to join them rather than wait outside for fear of being attacked.
• Lu Xiao led the group through the branching passages and sensed a strong anomalous presence nearby.
• Sly said he saw his late great-grandmother waving at him, and the group looked up to find countless hollow-eyed human faces on the cave ceiling.

Lu Xiao bombarded the Ghost-Faced Moths with grenades, using the Bone Spur to repeatedly stun them until the swarm was wiped out. After the group recovered and continued searching for the moths’ eggs, they heard the Ghost-Faced Moth Empress nearby, and Dante shouted for everyone to run.

• Lu Xiao fired grenades into the Ghost-Faced Moths, then stabbed his thighs with the Bone Spur to stun them and land precise shots.
• Lu Xiao killed the swarm, while the Bone Spur healed his wounds and the other five people were left unconscious for hours.
• Driver and Dante woke first, and Dante roused Liuguang, Sly, and the remaining teammate.
• Dante explained that the Ghost-Faced Moths laid their eggs together, and Lu Xiao led the group deeper into the passage to search for them.

The Ghost-Faced Moth Empress attacked Lu Xiao and his team, shrugging off their weapons and striking them with a devastating shriek. Lu Xiao used the Corrupted Revolver and Bone Spur to destroy her, but collapsed from his injuries as the Empress shattered.

• Dante and Lu Xiao’s team saw the Ghost-Faced Moth Empress arrive, and Dante’s bullets and Lu Xiao’s grenade failed to harm her.
• The Empress’s cry injured the team, so Lu Xiao fired the Corrupted Revolver twice and destroyed both of her wings at the cost of flesh from his limbs.
• The wingless Empress rushed Lu Xiao, and his next shot missed after he fell, costing him the flesh of his left thigh.
• Lu Xiao stabbed himself with the Bone Spur to stall the Empress, then shot her in the chest and spread cracks across her body.
• The Ghost-Faced Moth Empress shattered after reaching for Lu Xiao, and Lu Xiao passed out from his injuries.

After the Mother Empress nearly killed Lu Xiao, Dante used its hidden egg to heal him by placing it beside his heart, where its larva began living as a parasite. When Lu Xiao woke, Serial Number 097 made him terrified of thinking, so he gave himself a concussion and became an idiot to escape the fear.

• Xiao Yu and the others failed to pry Serial Number 097 from Lu Xiao's hand without touching him, even after Driver smashed it with a rock.
• Dante found the Mother Empress's hidden egg in the nearby pus and blood and placed it beside Lu Xiao's heart.
• The egg hatched into a parasitic larva that absorbed some of the revolver's curse and rapidly restored Lu Xiao's wounds.
• Dante explained that the larva would keep Lu Xiao alive and joked that he would welcome the parasite as a thrill.
• Hours later, Lu Xiao woke and heard the Omniscient Mirror command him to stop thinking because he would feel extreme terror toward thought.
• Lu Xiao struck his temple, apparently giving himself a concussion, and became an idiot; Dante said this was a side effect of Serial Number 097 and that idiots generally felt no fear.

After Lu Xiao recovered from Serial Number 097’s side effects, the group found the Ghost-Faced Moth Larva eggs and ate them to increase their mental power. Lu Xiao learned he was hosting a transformed Ghost-Faced Moth Queen Larva and chose to keep it after the Omniscient Mirror warned it could bring great benefits, then demanded five more fingernails for another answer.

• Dante led the group to the Ghost-Faced Moth eggs, where he demonstrated how to remove and eat the larvae safely.
• Driver, Xiao Yu, Liuguang, and Sly ate more than half the eggs, while Dante abstained; Lu Xiao woke after twelve hours and paid the Omniscient Mirror with five fingernails for five questions.
• Lu Xiao ate all the remaining eggs without feeling full, and Sly revealed that a Ghost-Faced Moth Queen Larva had parasitized him.
• Lu Xiao prepared to cut out the Queen Larva, but the Omniscient Mirror warned him that it had transformed after absorbing his cursed blood and would bring greater benefits if he kept it.
• The Omniscient Mirror demanded five more fingernails to answer whether the larva was more dangerous, and Lu Xiao saw that only four remained on his right hand.

Lu Xiao learned that his blood had made the insect egg closest to him and that it would never betray him. After the team completed its mission, Xiao Yu transformed their vehicle into a stealth aircraft, and Lu Xiao’s disastrous piloting sent the passengers into the air and then into a terrifying dive.

• The Omniscient Mirror told Lu Xiao that his blood had transformed the insect egg and made him its closest person, prompting him to imagine raising it as a pet.
• Lu Xiao and the others returned to Liu Guoliang, and Dante reported that the threats below had been cleared out.
• Lu Xiao returned the close-in defense grenade cannon to Liu Guoliang because deploying it required authorization.
• Xiao Yu transformed the vehicle into a black stealth airplane, and the team boarded for the flight to Japan.

The Doctor paid the Prison Doctor while learning that 019-Source of Pollution had escaped into the Dark Prison. There, it infected Dart and Chainsaw Man, and Dart agreed to its demands to keep it from controlling Chainsaw Man.

• The Prison Doctor apologized to the Doctor for letting 019-Source of Pollution escape, and the Doctor underwent the procedure to pay his fee.
• Chainsaw Man fed Dart high-level Weird Life until a soldier carrying a glass container approached them in the Dark Prison.
• The soldier dissolved into black liquid, which Dart recognized as 019-Source of Pollution as it breached containment.
• The black liquid infected Dart and Chainsaw Man, then tempted Dart with the chance to become human again.
• Dart refused the offer at first and asked Chainsaw Man to kill him, but agreed to 019-Source of Pollution's demands to prevent it from polluting Chainsaw Man.

Lu Xiao and his companions flew through foggy seas and encountered the enormous S058, the jellyfish flying in the sky, before reaching Japan. Dante said they would complete the mission to contain Lu Xiao in Tokyo Prefecture.

• Lu Xiao told Driver that the plane was on autopilot and nearing Japan, while Dante explained that the foggy sea was home to S058, which had never harmed passing aircraft.
• The plane passed beside the giant jellyfish, and Lu Xiao drooled over the thought of eating it while the Omniscient Mirror suggested he eat it raw.
• Lu Xiao and his companions arrived in Japan, where Dante explained that the country had only Tokyo Prefecture and Osaka Prefecture, a population of just over a million, and one Containment Facility, J01.
• Lu Xiao asked where Dante planned to complete the mission to contain him, and Dante chose Tokyo Prefecture.

Lu Xiao crash-landed the plane in Japan, and Dante’s group continued toward Tokyo in Driver’s van. In Tokyo Prefecture, Artisan ordered more people seized for experiments on 297 and insisted Japan must keep key anomalies out of Huaxia’s hands.

• Lu Xiao dove toward a clearing and landed the plane on its side, terrifying Driver, Dante, Sly, Xiao Yu, and Liuguang.
• Driver transformed into a silver-gray van, and Dante’s group set off for Tokyo Prefecture.
• Artisan ordered his staff to find more people for experiments on 297 after they reported that no prisoners remained.

Artisan killed the researcher and returned home to reassure his daughter. On the road to Osaka, Lu Xiao and Driver attacked a gang of Japanese thugs, leaving Vehicle with fresh fuel and the group facing possible consequences for their violence.

• Artisan shot the researcher in the van, then comforted his daughter by telling her Oda was resting.
• Lu Xiao learned from the Omniscient Mirror that Vehicle ran on flesh and blood, but refused to feed him his own.
• A group of thugs stopped the van and demanded money, then attacked Vehicle and grabbed Dante.
• Lu Xiao smashed the thug holding Dante, and Dante and the other Prison Wardens pretended not to see as Lu Xiao attacked the rest.
• Driver asked to join in, and after Sly explained Dante's response, Driver killed the last surviving thug to earn a third-class merit despite the mess.
• Dante asked if Vehicle had finished refueling, and Driver replied that he was almost done.

Lu Xiao and Dante arrived in Tokyo Prefecture, where the Omniscient Mirror revealed that Doctor had sent them to seek an answer but would not explain what it was. The next morning, Dante arranged a helicopter tour while Lu Xiao and the others trained.

• Lu Xiao's group reached the C03 Containment Facility office in Tokyo Prefecture, and Dante asked the office's head, Zuoshandiao, to show them around Japan.
• Dante hinted that their mission was to recontain Lu Xiao, but Zuoshandiao inferred they had another assignment and agreed to help.
• The Omniscient Mirror said Doctor had sent them to seek an answer, but it could not reveal what the answer was until its deal with him was complete.
• Dante coughed violently in the hallway and hid his bloodied palm from Lu Xiao, who urged him to quit smoking and offered to take him to Prison Doctor.

Dante and the group flew from the private hangar while Zuoshandiao gave them an aerial tour and explained how Containment Facilities were arranged. Xiao Yu revealed that the System and Gates formed the foundation of the Prison Wardens, and Dante confirmed Doctor had authorized Lu Xiao to learn about the organization.

• Zuoshandiao received flight clearance and took the group to a private hangar, where Lu Xiao asked to fly the helicopter but Driver objected, so Zuoshandiao piloted it.
• Zuoshandiao flew over Tokyo Prefecture and Osaka Prefecture and explained why Containment Facilities were built beneath shrines, churches, temples, or psychiatric hospitals.
• Lu Xiao asked whether every Containment Facility had a Gate, and Xiao Yu explained that Serial Number 03-Gate connected the Present World and the Dark Prison.
• Xiao Yu said Serial Number 01-System was the first contained anomaly, served as the Prison Wardens' brain, and guided them to the Gates; she said its origins were highly classified.
• Lu Xiao asked the Omniscient Mirror about the System's origins, and it said learning them would cost at least as much as resolving his curse.

Adam mutated into a monstrous tentacled creature and entered the Dark Prison after triggering A01 Containment Facility’s alarm. Meanwhile, Dante led Lu Xiao and the others toward J01 Containment Facility for a dangerous mission, declaring them qualified Sacrificial Ones before departure.

• Adam’s body sprouted tentacles and an enormous eye as he cursed Doctor and Huaxia.
• Adam’s mutation triggered A01 Containment Facility’s Dark Prison Value alarm, and his tentacles killed staff as he passed through the Gate into the Dark Prison.
• In Japan, Dante ordered Zuoshandiao to send the office staff home and instructed Driver to use teleportation to enter J01 Containment Facility that night.
• Dante warned Liuguang, Sly, and Xiao Yu that the mission would strip them of their Prison Warden status and death benefits, then declared them qualified Sacrificial Ones.
• Liuguang, Sly, and Xiao Yu refused to back out, and Lu Xiao learned that Dante’s special training had taught them how to smoke.

Doctor defied his superiors and pursued research to find a way for humanity to survive the Gate’s impending failure, insisting that learning the deity’s name was essential. He Shang learned that 292 possessed supreme divinity and ordered Doctor to develop it fully.

• Dante and Sly arrived by teleportation at J01 Containment Facility.
• Doctor told the Warden he had chosen to act, despite risking his position, because he sought a technological breakthrough to prepare for the Gate’s failure.
• The Director praised Doctor’s decision and offered support, but abruptly ended their call when He Shang called.
• He Shang ordered Doctor to withdraw his people from Japan and warned that their actions could cost the country its seat in the Highest Office.
• Doctor explained that he wanted answers about humanity’s technological limits and warned that the Dark Prison was assimilating the Present World, potentially destroying civilization when the Gate failed.

The Doctor explained that Lu’s blood had given him a curse called Apotheosis and warned He Shang about its effects, but He Shang still demanded Lu’s divinity. Meanwhile, Lu Xiao and three rookie Sacrificial Ones entered J01 Containment Facility to seize Contained Anomaly 012-Pen, where alarms sounded and security forces closed in.

• The Doctor told He Shang that a single drop of Lu’s blood had caused a Prison Warden soldier to mutate horrifically, and refused to help replicate Lu’s divinity.
• The Doctor recalled injecting himself with diluted blood produced from Lu’s cultured stem cells, which made him younger and left an eye in his palm.
• The Prison Doctor identified Lu’s curse as Apotheosis, called his divinity pure and noble, and said he came from the depths of Prison.
• He Shang still wanted Lu’s divinity, so the Doctor agreed to send him a blood sample and advised him to check Adam’s condition first.
• Lu Xiao and the rookies entered J01 Containment Facility to seize Contained Anomaly 012-Pen, while Dante and Driver flew off with the Omniscient Mirror for another mission.

Lu Xiao slaughtered the Prison Warden soldiers at the J01 Containment Facility, driving Artisan to release every Living Contained Anomaly. Meanwhile, Dante and Driver escaped missiles and confronted A01’s Special Operations Squad, and Dante declared that he was now Devil, a member of the Saints.

• Lu Xiao stabbed himself with the Bone Spur, incapacitated Liuguang and the others, then killed more than a hundred Prison Warden soldiers.
• Artisan learned that the Highest Office had abandoned him and treated J01 as a bargaining chip, so he pressed the facility’s emergency button and opened every Containment Room.
• Driver dodged missiles in the helicopter, shut off its engine to evade an attack, then restarted it after the explosions damaged Dante.
• An A01 fighter jet ordered Dante to stop, and Dante told the radio that he had left the Prison Wardens and joined the Saints under the codename Devil.

• Dante asked Driver whether he had sounded cool over the radio, then Driver warned that a fighter jet had locked onto their helicopter and fired missiles.
• Lu Xiao read Serial Number 297-Shy Guy’s containment information, saw its face, and provoked it with remarks about its appearance.
• Serial Number 297 charged Lu Xiao, who broke off its arm, ate it, and attacked with Bone Spur after the limb regenerated.
• Driver restored the vehicle to its original form as a floating ball of flesh, and the Omniscient Mirror swallowed the fighter jet.
• The Omniscient Mirror unleashed a massive tornado, waves, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes that destroyed Tokyo Prefecture and Osaka Prefecture, then began to reveal the deity’s name.

Dante was gravely injured after helping the Driver, who used the Omniscient Mirror to transform the vehicle into a supersonic aircraft. Lu Xiao and the others escaped J01 with the fountain pen, leaving the Artisan surrounded by escaped Weird Creatures.

• Dante asked the Driver for a cigarette and whether he had looked cool, while the Omniscient Mirror warned that he might not survive without help.
• The Driver asked the Omniscient Mirror how to transform the Transforming Vehicle into a supersonic airplane, and the Mirror gave him the answer for free.

• Driver said Dante and the Omniscient Mirror had destroyed Japan, and Lu Xiao rewarded the mirror with three fingernails.
• Lu Xiao asked the Omniscient Mirror whether Dante could recover, how to kill the Shy One, and whether they would sacrifice the god; it answered yes, advised feeding the Shy One to Serial Number 302-Vehicle, and said the sacrifice was already an established fact.

The Prison Doctor operated on Dante while Lu Xiao watched, and the Doctor questioned whether the procedure had been necessary. After obtaining 012-Pen, the Doctor asked for 013-Parchment, and the Warden and Director arrived at C03 to witness their use.

• The Prison Doctor used a piece of Lu Xiao's flesh while repairing Dante, then finished the operation after Lu Xiao pointed out the missing kidney and the misplaced needle.
• The Doctor questioned what the surgery had accomplished if Lu Xiao's flesh had saved Dante.
