Appointment

After Yunkai had been razed to the ground, all the captives taken from there felt a pang of grief at seeing it gone. They all knew their home was gone forever.

The people from Meereen, however, felt some satisfaction at the misfortune of those from Yunkai. Seeing Yunkai destroyed, they felt that since Meereen had been destroyed, Yunkai and Astapor had best be destroyed too. Only then would they feel things were even.

Of course, Eren paid no attention to what these people thought. He had come to destroy their culture and beliefs, and after destroying all their cities, he would reshape their culture and beliefs.

Eren controlled his Titan and walked back from Yunkai. After all, the horse he had ridden had been killed and vaporized in the explosion, so he could only walk back in his Titan, undoing his transformation when he reached the camp.

After Eren returned to his tent, someone outside informed him that a regimental commander under Colin had come for an audience.

Eren had him come in, and a Dothraki youth of about eighteen or nineteen entered. He had black hair, bronze skin, and a lean, muscular build, but his face was horse-like.

After entering, the man saluted Eren.

"Your Majesty, I am John, commander of the First Regiment under Division Commander Colin."

John spoke solemnly to Eren.

Though Eren was surprised that John had a horse-like face and was named John, he did not dwell on it.

In fact, horse-like faces were far from uncommon among the Dothraki. Besides, the other peoples of Essos called the Dothraki horsemen. Wasn't it perfectly normal for some horsemen to have horse-like faces?

John was also a very common Western name. He was merely surprised that this man both had a horse-like face and was named John. It reminded Eren of someone.

Eren looked at John before him and said, "Colin is dead. From now on, you will take his position as division commander. As for your regimental command, let the First Regiment's deputy commander take over."

Hearing Eren's words, John saluted excitedly and said, "Your subordinate is willing to dedicate his heart to Your Majesty!"

Eren patted his shoulder with satisfaction and said, "When you get back, lead the troops well, and give the army-"

John accepted the order and withdrew. After watching her leave, Eren returned to bed. He had never paid much attention to his subordinates' loyalty. Loyal or not, all that mattered was that they did their jobs. But if they overstepped their authority or plotted rebellion, the Coordinate Power would be watching them at all times.

Eren lay in bed with two beauties in his arms and three more lying across his legs. Then he had Lydia summon all the women he had recently selected a few days earlier. Over the past few days, whenever he had time, Eren had found people to teach them singing, dancing, and musical instruments.

These women now had tents of their own, right beside Eren's. Together with the women from before, including Lydia and the others, there were fifty-five in total. Eren now had them take shifts.

Lydia alone stayed at his side every day, as she needed to handle various translations and some work. Lydia had been a slave specifically trained to translate and handle affairs, and it was only because of her good looks and figure that she had stood out among the many translator slaves.

So Eren needed her there every day, not only to translate, but because she handled administrative affairs very well too. Apart from her, Eren no longer kept even Sally by his side very often. Instead, she took shifts like the other women. Eren only needed five women at his side each day, while the rest stayed together.

Of course, sometimes when Eren had nothing to do, he would have them come over to sing, dance, and play music. After all, in his previous life, whenever he had nothing to do each day, he would scroll through apps like Douyin and Kuaishou, looking at beautiful women and listening to songs.

Having them come over was actually much like using apps such as Douyin. Each woman wore different clothes to sing and dance, with others playing accompaniment nearby. Then, when one finished dancing, he waved his hand and switched to the next, just like swiping his thumb when he grew tired of watching something on Douyin.

This was the ancient version of Douyin and Kuaishou that Eren had invented, though he could only watch beautiful women dance.

He could not watch other things, such as short landscape videos. This could be considered a product of the times. Eren enjoyed a massage while watching beautiful women dance. Seeing that Eren had fallen asleep, Lydia waved the women away. Then she and the women on the bed all fell asleep leaning against him.

The next day, a female soldier called from outside, saying that Flock had come for an audience. There were quite a few female warriors among the Dothraki, and Eren had directly transferred several of them over to guard his tent.

Eren knew this meant Flock had made up his mind. After careful consideration, Eren had also decided which Power of the Giants to give him.

Eren called loudly toward the tent entrance, "Let him in."

Hearing this, the soldiers outside lowered their weapons before Flock and let him inside.

After entering, Flock first saluted, then said to Eren, "Your Majesty, I have made up my mind. Whatever the price, I will accept the Power of the Giants so I can better dedicate my heart to the empire!"

Eren said nothing. Instead, he took a table knife and slit his wrist, letting his blood flow into a bowl. Then he carried the bowl over to Flock and said:

"Remember, this is an honor bestowed upon you by the Giant God. You will become a warrior who fights for the god, and the gates of Valhalla will always be open to you."

The Power of the Giants Eren intended to give Flock was the Female Titan's power. Of course, that was what it was called when separated from Ymir. Separated from Eren, it would naturally be the Male Titan's power.

Eren also had male characteristics after transforming; they were merely covered by armor, so others could not see them.

If he gave it to Flock, however, Flock would have no armor after transforming, and others would be able to see the 010 hanging between his legs. Besides, this Titan needed a better-sounding name. The others were called things like Jaw or Armored, while this one alone was called Male. It did not sound good.

After thinking for a moment, Eren decided to call it the Screaming Giants, because apart from being able to use localized Hardening, this Titan could also summon nearby Pure Titans with its screams. Of course, it could only summon them, not control them.

Eren would grant him permission to control ten Pure Titans, but would not grant him permission to create Titans that obeyed him. Even after granting him permission to control Pure Titans, Eren could revoke that control at any time.

Eren looked at Flock and said, "The Titan you are about to inherit is called the Screaming Giants. This Titan can summon and attract those mindless Titans by screaming, and can control ten mindless Titans. It can also harden parts of its body. No one except the Jaw Giants can break through the defenses of those hardened areas."

Then he put the bowl to Flock's mouth and poured it straight down his throat.
