Ch. 41Battle on the Grasslands (Part Two)

Modun rampaged through Drogo’s forces as Eren used the Coordinate to direct him toward the long-braided warrior he suspected was the Khal. When Modun charged Drogo, Kohoro struck the Jaw Titan’s eye to draw it away while Haggo and Qotho dragged Drogo into retreat.

  • Modun transformed into a Jaw Titan and slaughtered the riders charging at him, while Drogo ordered his archers to fire despite risking their own men.
  • Eren’s cavalry engaged Drogo’s forces, and Eren used the Coordinate to tell Modun to target the long-braided warrior he suspected was the Khal.
  • Modun recognized Drogo and charged toward him, trampling a soldier who tried to block his path.
  • Kohoro urged Drogo to retreat, then rode toward Modun and shot an arrow into the Jaw Titan’s right eye.
  • Haggo and Qotho dragged Drogo away as Kohoro drew Modun after him, and Drogo shouted Kohoro’s name.

Ch. 42Battle on the Grasslands (Part Two)

Modun broke through Drogo’s defenses and pursued him across the grasslands as Eren’s army overwhelmed Drogo’s soldiers. After refusing to surrender, Drogo was killed by Modun, leaving Eren’s forces victorious.

  • Kohoro sacrificed his soldiers to hold Modun back while Drogo retreated, but Eren’s troops broke through and killed Kohoro.
  • Modun tore through the weakened defense, while Eren’s soldiers called on Drogo’s troops to surrender and killed those who continued resisting.
  • Modun hurled a fleeing rider and horse toward Drogo, and Haggo pulled Drogo aside, leaving Qotho crushed by the impact.
  • Drogo chose to fight rather than flee, but Modun caught him and offered him a choice between surrender and death.
  • Drogo declared that he would never surrender, and Modun crushed him in his hand.

Ch. 43After the battle

After defeating Drogo’s Khalasar, Eren ordered the prisoners guarded and led his army to surround the Khalasar camp. The camp’s garrison debated whether to surrender or wait for Drogo, and the chapter ended with news that Ko Moro had arrived to negotiate.

  • Modun reported that he had killed Drogo, that the surviving Dothraki had surrendered, and that Eren’s army had suffered 5,123 dead and 295 severely wounded.
  • Eren ordered Modun to guard the prisoners, find guides to Drogo’s Khalasar, and send a thousand men to escort the severely wounded to the church.
  • Eren followed three Dothraki guides to Drogo’s camp and ordered Link to surround it with the army.
  • Ko Rolo and his subordinates argued over whether to surrender or resist while they wondered whether Drogo had been defeated.
  • A soldier told Ko Rolo that Ko Moro had come to negotiate with the garrison.

Ch. 44Absorption

Eren sent Moro to negotiate the surrender of Rolo’s ten-thousand-man Khas after Drogo’s defeat. Rolo accepted Eren’s terms, crushed resistance from Drogo’s loyalists, and sent trusted men with Moro to meet Eren.

  • Eren sent Moro, a former Ko in Drogo’s Khalasar, to tell Rolo that Drogo had fallen and to negotiate the absorption of his forces.
  • Moro told Rolo that Drogo’s army had been defeated and warned that their enemy’s Giants made resistance hopeless.
  • Moro assured Rolo that he would keep command of ten thousand troops if he surrendered, and Rolo agreed.
  • When a loyalist challenged Rolo for his position, Rolo and a subordinate killed him, sparking a melee in which the surrender supporters killed the remaining loyalists.
  • Rolo ordered his soldiers and the rest of the Khalasar to surrender, then sent trusted men with Moro to pay their respects to Eren.

Ch. 45Surrender

Eren’s forces accepted Rolo’s surrender and began integrating his Khalasar into the Dothraki Empire. Rolo became a regiment commander under Link’s division, and Eren ordered the Khalasar to pack up and return to camp.

  • Moro and Rolo’s subordinate surrendered to Eren, and Link accepted their weapons on his behalf.
  • Link explained the empire’s ranks and military structure to Rolo, who peacefully handed over his forces and had their weapons confiscated.
  • Link brought Rolo to Eren, who offered him a regiment commander position and ordered his men to be broken up and regrouped.
  • Eren assigned Rolo’s regiment to Link’s division and ordered the Khalasar to pack their belongings and return to camp.

Ch. 46Promotion

Eren returned to camp with the prisoners and reorganized the army, assigning captured soldiers as replacements and promoting several commanders. After the meeting, he planned to have the song and dance troupe perform for him.

  • Eren brought the newly surrendered Dothraki prisoners back to camp and had them settled beside the prisoners from Slaver's Bay.
  • Eren told Modun to distribute head-count records and arrange partners for eligible warriors, while the empire would support the families of the dead and severely wounded.
  • Eren ordered each unit to select prisoners to replenish its ranks in three days and assigned Rolo to command the remaining soldiers under Link.
  • Eren renamed Modun's force the Royal Guard, promoted Modun to corps commander, and ordered female warriors selected to guard his song and dance troupe.
  • Eren promoted Flock, Link, and John to command the First, Second, and Third Corps, then dismissed them.
  • Eren asked Lydia to arrange a performance by members of the song and dance troupe.

Ch. 47Sculpting New Titans

Eren took the 243 surviving severely wounded outside the camp and used the Coordinate Space to begin sculpting sixty-meter Colossal Titans for the walls of his planned city in Pentos. He tested an Ultraman design, but realized the Titans’ lack of suits made them look different from the character he remembered.

  • Eren rode to the Church of the Giants, where the Mother Superior told him that 243 severely wounded people remained alive.
  • Eren ordered the wounded moved outside the camp so he could turn them into Pure Titans and sculpt Colossal Titans without space constraints.
  • Eren entered the Coordinate Space and planned to create more than two hundred sixty-meter Colossal Titans for the walls of his future city in Pentos.
  • Eren gave the dead warriors in the Coordinate Space peaceful dreams of Valhalla and set their empty shells to work sculpting Titans.
  • Eren had the workers shape an original Ultraman, then noticed that the unclothed Titan lacked the suit that gave Ultraman his familiar appearance.

Ch. 48Colossal Titan

Eren created Colossal Titans and other Giants, then brought 150 Colossal Titans into the real world as the Mother Superior declared their appearance a miracle of the Titan God. The chapter ended with the gathered nuns and soldiers facing the enormous figures as the Mother Superior used the moment to proclaim her faith.

  • Eren used Hardening to shape a Gundam-like Giant and realized that granting Giant abilities let others use powers that remained connected to him and under his control.
  • Eren mass-produced 150 Colossal Titans as future wall foundations and made the cargo-hauling Pure Titans stand on all fours.
  • Eren sent the finished Giants out of the Coordinate and returned to reality as the wounded people emitted yellow light and more than two hundred pillars of light rose.
  • The light revealed 150 Colossal Titans before the watching nuns and soldiers, who stared in shock at their size.
  • The Mother Superior composed herself and proclaimed the Colossal Titans a miracle and proof that the Titan God was the only true deity.

Ch. 49Deterrence

Eren summoned 150 Colossal Titans and led them to surround the prisoner camp, terrifying the captives and crushing the rebels’ hopes. At the camp’s edge, Jace and his companions faced the Giants and wondered whether they had any hope left.

  • The warriors saw the Colossal Titans and knelt to pray after the Mother Superior called their appearance a miracle.
  • The warriors noticed Eren’s unusual Ultraman and Gundam Giants among the Colossal Titans.
  • Eren directed the Colossal Titans toward the prisoner camp while keeping their heat and steam low to protect the grassland.
  • The Colossal Titans surrounded the prisoner camp, and some prisoners were crushed as the captives panicked and begged for mercy.
  • Jace and his companions watched the Giants from the camp’s edge and asked whether they still had any hope.

Ch. 50In position

Eren organized the Colossal Titans and reorganized his forces after capturing Drogo’s Khalasar. With the army and its preparations in position, he ordered the march to Pentos to begin the next morning.

  • Eren stationed Colossal Titans around the Prisoner Camp, set rules for guards and prisoners, and planned to use the Titans as the foundation of Pentos’s inner walls.
  • Eren assigned Pure Titans to guard the Church of the Giants, his tent, and the nearby Harem Corps, while Crawling Giants hauled supplies.
  • Over three days, Eren’s generals incorporated Drogo’s captured warriors into the Four Great Legions, while Eren arranged training and religious instruction for the captives’ children, elders, and women.
  • Modun reported that his units’ losses had been replenished, and Link reported that Rolo had taken command of the remaining troops with Tiko as deputy.
  • Eren praised Link’s service and ordered the army to depart for Pentos the next morning.

Ch. 51Setting out

Eren ordered his army west and led it on a month-long march toward Qohor, where he planned to trade for supplies without revealing the full strength of his forces. The army camped in Qohor Forest while Eren prepared to enter the city with a smaller force.

  • Eren ordered the messengers to have every unit prepare to depart within two hours.
  • The army marched west with 150 Colossal Titans and ten thousand Dothraki cavalry, forcing the prisoners to keep pace as they traveled.
  • Eren rode at the front in a bunker formed from a Pure Titan with Hardening and noted that its crystal walls became too bright in sunlight.
  • After a month, Eren brought his army near Qohor and decided to trade there rather than conquer the city, to avoid alarming Pentos and the Targaryen descendants.
  • Eren told Flock and Link to conceal the main camp in Qohor Forest while he took part of the army into Qohor to buy supplies and seek tribute.

Ch. 52Qohor

At a feast in Qohor, Yuri learned that a new Dothraki khalasar had arrived outside the city, and he ended the gathering to assess the threat. The nobles prepared to meet at the walls and discuss how to respond.

  • Yuri and Rick toasted each other as nobles celebrated at Yuri’s mansion.
  • Lyon reported that about ten thousand Dothraki had appeared outside Qohor, and Yuri asked whether they belonged to Khal Jheko.
  • Lyon confirmed that the khalasar was led by a different Khal and warned that more Dothraki might be camped nearby.
  • Yuri ended the feast and asked the heads of the families to accompany him and the priest to the walls.
  • Rick urged Yuri to notify the absent nobles and gather everyone at the walls to discuss a response.

Ch. 53Negotiations

Eren brought his army to Qohor and demanded a share of the tribute the city paid to Jheko. Yuri Macsuos came out to negotiate, and Eren stated his strength and purpose.

  • Yuri dismissed the dancers and ordered the hall prepared in case Qohor reached an agreement with the approaching Khalasar.
  • Eren rode to Qohor with ten thousand troops, Modun, and John, then refused to negotiate with Lyon and demanded that a Qohor noble meet him.
  • Lyon reported Eren's demand to Yuri, who ordered him to gather the Unsullied and accompanied him outside the city.
  • Yuri introduced himself to Eren as a Qohor noble and offered to negotiate.
  • Eren identified himself as Khal of a seventy-thousand-strong Khalasar with thirty thousand Dothraki Screamers, and demanded a share of the tribute Qohor paid Jheko.

Ch. 54Negotiations

Yuri negotiated a payment of four hundred jin of gold to Khal Eren to avert war, then pressured Qohor’s nobles to help fund it. He set his own family’s contribution at fifty jin and threatened to destroy any family that refused to pay.

  • Yuri bargained with Eren, who agreed to accept four hundred jin of gold instead of going to war.
  • Yuri returned to Rick and the nobles and told them Eren’s demand; the nobles protested the cost.
  • Yuri urged the nobles to divide the payment among their families and the church, then silenced their objections by threatening to leave them to fight alone.
  • The nobles argued over their shares, while Yuri privately recalled that he had arranged the robbery one family cited as hardship.
  • Yuri pledged fifty jin of gold from his own family and threatened to wipe out any noble family that resisted contributing.

Ch. 55Trade

Eren accepted the four hundred jin of gold from Qohor’s representatives, then asked Yuri to arrange access to Qohor’s Valyrian-steel reworkers, food, and brocade weavers in exchange for gold. Yuri agreed to fetch the smiths but was left thinking Eren was shameless for using the gold he had just paid to buy Qohor’s goods.

  • Yuri, Rick, and the noble families gathered four hundred jin of gold and loaded it onto wagons for Eren.
  • Modun inspected the gold and confirmed to Eren that it was genuine.
  • Eren told Yuri he wanted to recruit Qohor’s smiths who could reforge Valyrian steel, and Yuri said he could take one if a smith agreed to go.
  • Eren asked Yuri to let him meet the smiths and recruit them himself, and Yuri prepared to fetch them.
  • Eren also asked to buy two million jin of food, mostly dry provisions, and hire some of Qohor’s brocade weavers; Yuri silently resented that Eren would use the gold he had paid to buy Qohor’s goods.

Ch. 56The smith

Yuri brought Qohor’s smiths and weavers to meet Eren after the city’s families agreed to sell him grain. Eren tried to recruit three master smiths by showing them a remarkably hard, colorful crystal, and their reaction left their decision unresolved.

  • Yuri told Qohor’s families about Eren’s demands, and they agreed to supply grain together rather than risk a war.
  • Yuri sent two brocade weavers and brought Qohor’s three master smiths—Master Hurt, Master Evans, and Master Torvin—to meet Eren.
  • Eren offered the smiths positions forging weapons and promised them a chance to make a lasting name for themselves.
  • Eren revealed a colorful crystal his khalasar had discovered and had John strike it with a Valyrian steel sword.
  • The crystal remained unscathed, and the three smiths stared at it in amazement.

Ch. 57Following

Eren showed three Qohor smiths a crystal created with his Hardening ability and offered to take one of them to the Dothraki Sea to study its use in forging weapons. Torvin chose to leave with Eren and bring along any apprentices who wished to go, while Evans had to remain in Qohor.

  • The three smiths tested the crystal with Lament and agreed that it might yield a weapon greater than Valyrian steel.
  • Eren invited the smiths to travel with him to the Dothraki Sea and study the crystal where he had found it.
  • Evans offered to go, but Hurt urged him to stay in Qohor so he could continue teaching apprentices.
  • Torvin volunteered to leave with Eren and bring his apprentices and their families if they agreed.
  • Eren accepted Torvin but explained that Yuri had allowed him to take only one smith, leaving Evans disappointed.

Ch. 58Settling in

Torvin recruited seven apprentices to join Eren and left Qohor with them as Yuri delivered the grain and Torvin arrived at Eren’s camp. Eren paid Yuri for the grain and brocade weavers, promised to leave Qohor once the grain was received, and sent Torvin with Modun to get settled.

  • Torvin invited his apprentices to follow him to serve a Khal, and seven chose to go while he promised the remaining three a share from the smithy’s sale.
  • Torvin sold his smithy and prepared to leave Qohor with the apprentices who had joined him.
  • Yuri arrived at Eren’s camp with the grain and five brocade weavers, while Mickey inspected the grain.
  • Eren paid Yuri the agreed amount for the grain and one jin of gold for the weavers, and promised to leave Qohor after receiving all the grain.
  • Eren sent Torvin with Modun to settle in with his people and tools.

Ch. 59Delivery

Modun settled Torvin and his people near his tent and told him that Eren’s Dothraki Empire was preparing to found a nation, while Torvin hoped to earn a noble title through service. Eren paid Yuri for Qohor’s grain and fodder, and Yuri rode back to Qohor with the gold as Eren privately planned to claim the city’s wealth someday.

  • Modun assigned tents near his own to Torvin, his apprentices, and their families, and promised to take Torvin to see the crystal after reporting to Eren.
  • Torvin questioned whether the Dothraki had enough strength to found a nation, and Modun said they were only the vanguard of a powerful empire.
  • Torvin imagined the empire’s cavalry and saw a chance to become a noble by earning Eren’s favor.
  • Eren praised Qohor’s grain reserves while privately deciding to plunder the city and seize its wealth someday.
  • Eren sent Yuri to John to receive gold for the grain and fodder, and Yuri counted the payment before riding back to Qohor.

Ch. 60Homecoming

Eren brought Torvin and the people from Qohor to the Empire’s base camp, where they saw the Dothraki’s vast forces and learned that Eren had destroyed Slaver’s Bay but intended to protect Qohor. Torvin then discovered that Eren’s divine crystal might be combined with Valyrian steel, though he knew the task would be difficult.

  • Eren returned to the base camp with grain and people from Qohor, and Torvin and his apprentices were astonished by its size.
  • Modun told Torvin that the Dothraki had conquered Slaver’s Bay, and Eren promised that Qohor would become his protected territory rather than be destroyed.
  • Torvin and the others saw three Titans, and Modun confirmed that Eren’s power had destroyed the cities of Slaver’s Bay.
  • Eren had Modun settle Torvin’s group near the Church of the Giants while he took two brocade weavers to his tent for measurements.
  • Modun explained that Eren created the crystal statue from divine power and wanted blacksmiths to test whether the crystal could be combined with Valyrian steel.
  • Torvin understood Eren’s plan but recognized that he would need to learn how Valyrian steel was made and what the crystal contained.
