Ling Xi is intensely proud of her cultivation and imperial standing. She initially considers fighting Liu Ling beneath her dignity and rejects the idea that a low-level cultivator such as Nalan Yanran could publicly humiliate her while she controls Xiao Baichuan’s body. She also enjoys praise, openly asking Xiao Baichuan whether her handling of the annulment was impressive 7 11.

Her cold manner frequently gives way to embarrassment, irritation, or curiosity around Xiao Baichuan. Although she repeatedly calls him a “lecher,” she notices his appearance, responds positively to his concern, and reassures him when Yao Chen’s criticism undermines his confidence 3 5 8.

While in secluded cultivation, she repeatedly dreamed of an unidentified human man taking liberties with her. She could neither resist him nor understand her own reactions. Hearing the name “Bai Chuan” finally woke her, but speaking it aloud triggered a force that pulled her consciousness from her cave dwelling 3.

Meeting Xiao Baichuan

Ling Xi appeared beside Bai Chuan in a forest near a nine-colored stream, unable to summon her Dou Qi. Their argument revealed that they belonged to eras separated by ten thousand years. She identified herself and displayed her racial scales, convincing him that she really was an ancient Dou Di 3 4.

After confirming that slashing him ended her recurring dreams, she accepted his proposed escape method: kill him within the space, then kill herself. Both survived outside it, with Ling Xi awakening in Xiao Baichuan’s Sea of Consciousness. She recognized his Twin Fish Jade Pendant as the same pendant she carried and suspected it had connected them 4 5.

Engagement Annulment and Liu Ling’s Challenge

When Nalan Yanran’s engagement proved to be with Xiao Baichuan, Ling Xi took control of his body and settled the dispute herself. Her imperial bearing intimidated the assembled cultivators; she accepted the annulment, marked the marriage contract “dissolved,” and left. Back in his room, she detected another presence within the pendant, leading to Yao Chen’s emergence 6 7 8.

Ling Xi later fought Liu Ling through Xiao Baichuan’s body, using Soul Force borrowed from Yao Chen to operate at one-star Dou Zhe strength. She effortlessly evaded Liu Ling’s attacks and continued dominating after he abandoned his promise to suppress his five-star cultivation. She ended the duel with an improvised acupoint technique, Transforming Qi Palm, while giving Xiao Baichuan a detailed practical lesson 11 12.

Her performance drew scrutiny from Yao Chen and Ling Ying, while Gu He concluded that Xiao Baichuan had an expert behind him. Ling Xi advised Xiao Baichuan not to reveal too much about the pendant 12 13 21.

The Three-Day Body Swap

A later visit to the pendant’s space exchanged their bodies across eras. Xiao Baichuan occupied Ling Xi’s Dou Di body, while she awakened in his room without being able to sense or contact his soul 15 18.

In the ancient era, Xiao Baichuan used her body to kill Huang Aotian, the Ancient Heavenly Phoenix Clan’s holy son, and his entourage with one palm strike. The attack reduced them and their betrothal gifts to ash and left a vast hand-shaped abyss outside the sacred hall 17.

Meanwhile, Ling Xi accompanied Yao Chen to sell medicines through the Mittel Auction House. She negotiated their prices, attended the auction, and collected the proceeds and a purple-gold VIP card. Xiao Zhan purchased the Foundation Establishment Spirit Liquid for forty thousand gold coins 18 19 20.

When they reunited after three days, Ling Xi demanded an account of Xiao Baichuan’s use of her body. She dismissed Huang Aotian’s death as manageable and said she would confront the Heavenly Phoenix Emperor if necessary. During the exchange, she revealed that she had advanced Xiao Baichuan’s body to Dou Zhe and cultivated the Flame Mantra supplied by Yao Chen. They then returned to their own bodies 21.
