"In return for getting her to give back the photos, I agreed to one condition."
At Yan Huan's words, Hitomi Sakuramiya's mind went blank for a moment.
Some rather indecent images seemed to force their way into her head.
"President, what do you mean, you agreed to one condition?"
Yan Huan blinked, paused for several seconds, then finally said,
"Sakuramiya, you know her grades are terrible, right?"
"Yes. Sixty-six points. It's hard to imagine a human getting a score like that. But if it's her, it makes sense."
The restraint in that statement was a credit to Miss Hitomi Sakuramiya's upbringing.
Someone like Yan Huan would only have said, "A real fucking genius."
"That idiot apparently knew she'd be forced to join the Study Group. She didn't want to study, so she used the photos to blackmail me into helping her get out of it."
Yan Huan spread his hands as he explained.
"..."
But Hitomi Sakuramiya froze slightly at that and questioned him,
"But President, she took the photos on Monday, and the results came out on Tuesday. Could she already have predicted she would join the Study Group back then?"
"Her family background isn't ordinary. You've noticed that, haven't you, Sakuramiya?"
In the end, Yan Huan still didn't want to drag Hitomi Sakuramiya into this.
Normally, that explanation would have been hard to dispute.
Because that idiot Spencer really did intend to use the condition that way, so it couldn't exactly be considered a lie on Yan Huan's part.
The problem was that Yan Huan didn't know Hitomi Sakuramiya had been wearing a mask all along.
He knew nothing of the information she possessed or her powers of deduction.
Indeed, as the president had said, the surname "Spencer" alone suggested countless ties to the Golden Lion Group. She might have learned of the principal's arrangements in advance.
But that couldn't explain the strange expression the president had shown upon seeing her name in the principal's office on Tuesday.
And on Thursday, too, the president's expression and movements had been strange after he came back from seeing Spencer.
It was only because his words had captured her attention at the time that she had temporarily overlooked it.
Just as Nara had said, her IQ plummeted whenever Yan Huan was involved.
But now she was facing off against that cow in the clash lane. Hitomi Sakuramiya was at her peak, and looking back, she quickly picked up the clues.
In other words, things between the president and Spencer weren't as simple as he had made them sound.
But why would the president lie?
He had been so gentle with her before, collected stamps with her, and even considered her feelings.
Could all of that have merely been part of his fun with Spencer?
Was she merely part of their flirting game?!
No, impossible.
Because Hitomi Sakuramiya could tell that the dislike in Yan Huan's eyes when he looked at Spencer was real.
That made the current situation rather thought-provoking.
But Hitomi Sakuramiya truly was a genius. Almost naturally, she arrived at a flawless answer.
The president's thoughts have already been influenced by Spencer's superpower!!
She remembered the inexplicable thoughts that had appeared in her own mind several times before.
Her wariness toward Spencer had diminished, and she had felt that whatever Spencer did was reasonable.
That might have been related to her superpower, and it would also explain why she could shatter her barrier with a single kick.
Those thoughts she experienced were very faint and soon disappeared.
So Hitomi Sakuramiya suspected that perhaps beings with these strange superpowers weakened the effects of each other's abilities.
The fact that Spencer could shatter her barrier lent some support to that explanation.
But by comparison, the effect her barrier had on Spencer was far weaker than the effect Spencer's superpower had on her.
Could it be because of the so-called [level]?
My barrier is currently level 2. Could Spencer's superpower be a higher level, resulting in this situation?
Can't I raise its level some more?
So even that person can't break my barrier.
Crack, crack, crack.
But as that thought surfaced, something like viscous darkness around Hitomi Sakuramiya seemed to receive nourishment and began to writhe.
And the president doesn't have a superpower!
He's very likely taking the full effect of Spencer's superpower.
Even inside my barrier, I couldn't bear to alter the president's common sense or rewrite the rules for him.
I'm so careful with the president, yet that person...
At that thought, looking at Yan Huan before her, Hitomi Sakuramiya suddenly felt terrified.
If this continued, there was no telling what the president's thoughts would be polluted into!
She truly feared that one day, the president would become just as she had imagined earlier,
"Sorry, Sakuramiya. I... can't go back anymore..."
No. I have to protect the president from that person.
I can't let the president have any more contact with her!
Though terrifying desires surged inside her, Hitomi Sakuramiya merely blinked and said to Yan Huan,
"I see. I understand, President."
Once again, her thinking aligned with Yan Huan's. She too chose to pretend to believe the person before her, while her real intention was to keep the president away from Spencer.
Turning to look around, Hitomi Sakuramiya continued,
"Then let's head to the Infirmary now."
"Okay, let me see how to get there."
"It looks like it's that way."
Hitomi Sakuramiya already knew this place by heart. After all, she had spent a long time setting it up before coming.
Her original plan had been to pretend she knew nothing after entering, follow the president, then use the scares from the NPCs to get closer to him and create a romantic atmosphere.
But now, because of that terrifying opponent Spencer, her objective had completely changed.
"Really?"
Yan Huan looked in the direction Hitomi Sakuramiya pointed and indeed saw a scratched, weathered sign on the wall.
They had to go upstairs that way. The Infirmary was on the second floor.
"Aaaah! It hurts... it hurts!!"
Just then, an NPC with disheveled black hair and a blood-covered face pressed against the window of a closed classroom beside them, howling with a hideous expression.
Yan Huan took a step back, not frightened, and merely glanced back at Sakuramiya.
Her eyes contracted slightly. Clearly, the sudden jumpscare had startled her.
"Are you okay, Sakuramiya?"
"I-I'm fine."
Even knowing that the NPCs inside were all played by her own employees, she still didn't dare so much as look.
She wanted to hurry past and followed Yan Huan as he continued leading the way.
Just as she was about to pass, an icy hand behind her tugged at her clothes.
"!!"
P-P-President!
Hitomi Sakuramiya instinctively started to call for help, but the pale hand held a Bluetooth earpiece up before her eyes.
Hitomi Sakuramiya froze.
She turned to look at the female ghost, only to see her wink through a face covered in blood.
"..."
Hitomi Sakuramiya glanced at Yan Huan ahead and, while he wasn't looking, silently took the Bluetooth earpiece and put it on.
"Miss, can you hear me?"
It was Nara's voice.
Hitomi Sakuramiya looked toward the camera hidden above the corridor. Without speaking, she simply nodded.
"Good. Miss, those two girls have entered the Haunted House too. Should we follow the original plan, or..."
Hitomi Sakuramiya immediately shook her head. As she followed Yan Huan, she mouthed something at the camera.
After a brief silence, Nara said,
"Blond idiot... You mean that Blond Hair girl, Miss?"
Hitomi Sakuramiya nodded. First, she pointed at Yan Huan and made a pushing-away gesture, then made a slicing motion.
Nara understood instantly and said,
"Understood, Miss. Our priority now is to keep her away from Yan Huan, correct?"
Hitomi Sakuramiya gave a thumbs-up.
"Hmm, Miss, you can go to the Infirmary on the second floor. There's a hidden room there that leads straight to the exit.
"If you don't enter the hidden room, you'll have to go around from the second floor to the third, then take stairway C on the other side of the third floor down to the first-floor exit.
"The Infirmary has two entrances, A and B. You can reach it from either stairwell on the first floor.
"You're currently in corridor A, so you'll have to walk a little way after going upstairs to reach the Infirmary. They're in corridor B, which is very close to the Infirmary once they go upstairs.
"The staff inside will do their best to hold up that blond idiot. Miss, take Yan Huan to the second-floor Infirmary quickly and get out as soon as possible."
Hitomi Sakuramiya nodded and stopped looking at the camera. Instead, she drew a little closer to Yan Huan and reminded him,
"President, let's hurry. I keep worrying we'll run into that person..."
Yan Huan ahead clearly felt the same way and quickened his pace.
At the same time, he wasn't idle either, calling out inside his mind,
"Meow-chan."
"Meow~"
An illusory black cat appeared on his shoulder like a phantom, its long tail curling around his neck.
"What is it, meow?"
"Can you run out and check where Spencer is? I don't want to run into her with Sakuramiya. Today isn't the time to deal with her Modifier."
But Meow-chan shook its head and said,
"Yan Huan, I can't go too far away from you."
Yan Huan raised an eyebrow and looked at Meow-chan.
"Why?"
"I exist in this world as an incarnation of the Modifier, meow. The Modifier is on you, so I can only appear near you."
With that, it leaped off Yan Huan's shoulder and ran ahead.
The black cat in the yellow scarf kept running forward. When it was roughly fifteen meters from Yan Huan, it seemed to shatter, dissolving into scattered motes of light.
"At the Modifier's current level, my range is about a fifteen-meter radius, meow."
Then Meow-chan gradually re-formed on Yan Huan's shoulder.
"If I could, I'd also like to monitor the confirmed Modifier hosts every day and help you track their progress in using their Modifiers, but..."
"..."
It was fine. Yan Huan was already used to Meow-chan being useless.
Just as Yan Huan withdrew his gaze in disappointment, Meow-chan called out, drawing his attention back.
"But I can smell her. They're on the other side of the corridor right now."
"Oh, right. I almost forgot. You're an adorable little kitty, Meow-chan."
"Meow?"
Meow-chan patted this man who changed his tune so quickly with its paw pad, but didn't forget to remind him,
"Yan Huan, you need to hurry upstairs, or they'll come around soon."
Yan Huan gave an almost imperceptible nod. They had already reached a stairwell stained with quite a lot of blood.
Looking back at Hitomi Sakuramiya, Yan Huan said,
"Sakuramiya, this way."
"Yes, President."
Hitomi Sakuramiya stepped onto the stairs, but as Yan Huan looked at the first floor's complicated corridors, he felt somewhat puzzled.
The layout here was complex, and the information that they needed to go to the second-floor Infirmary came from subtle guidance they could only find after passing through several classrooms.
With Spencer's brains, how was she catching up so quickly?
"Um... Spencer, I think we're supposed to go to the Infirmary... That should be the exit. Xiao Huan and the others will definitely go there too."
"Huh?"
Inside an abandoned classroom, Spencer was crouching on the floor, playing with scattered fragments of desks and chairs.
Only upon hearing An Le behind her did she turn around.
She saw An Le trembling with fear as she looked at the subtle guidance on the wall, seemingly written in blood, and said those words.
Spencer tilted her head, clapped her hands, stood up, and said,
"Where's the Infirmary, then?"
"It should be upstairs. This is corridor B, and there's a stairwell this way-eep!! A ghost!!"
Just as An Le looked outside the classroom, a ghostly figure slowly walked past, frightening her face pale.
On her shoulder, Little Finger slapped her face with his tail and scolded,
"What ghost?! If we're talking ghosts, don't you think I'm the ghost, since nobody else can see me?! What are you scared of? Charge!! Yan Huan is waiting for you!"
She had only just become somewhat worked up over the argument. For a coward like her, this was the best possible medicine.
She had to be pushed into doing something in this state that she would normally never even dare imagine:
Telling Yan Huan that she was his childhood friend!
"R-right."
An Le patted her little mask-covered face and forced herself to muster some courage.
"Hah, what ghost? Let me see!"
Spencer was absurdly bold. She ran straight out, only to find an empty corridor.
"Tch, there's nothing here. Even if there is a ghost, it's a scaredy-cat."
"Ugh..."
An Le couldn't help feeling that Spencer was talking about her.
She hurried after Spencer. Having a companion beside her dispelled a good deal of her fear.
"Spencer, the stairs should be that way... Xiao Huan and Vice President Sakuramiya should be heading to the Infirmary too. If we hurry..."
Just as she was about to move forward, a cold breeze seemed to blow from behind her.
"I hate you... I hate you... I hate you all!!!"
"Eek!"
An Le's face went pale. She didn't even dare turn around, but the reflection in the window beside her let her see a door swinging open behind her.
"S-Spencer!!"
"Huh?"
Spencer folded her arms and turned to look behind her too.
But there was nothing there except the open door.
"What is it?"
Did I see it wrong?
Panting, An Le withdrew her gaze and looked ahead.
But just then, she saw a hideous female ghost with disheveled hair and a blood-covered face who had appeared behind Spencer at some point.
"Eek!!"
An Le's legs buckled in fright, and she fell straight onto her bottom, lowering her head and covering her face like an ostrich.
"Spencer, b-behind you... Waaaah!"
Seeing An Le's embarrassing reaction, the hideous female ghost revealed a sinister smile.
Although this was only a part-time job, and her first time playing a female ghost,
personally scaring a guest into screaming and collapsing onto the floor inevitably gave her a sense of accomplishment.
Was this what they called "loving whatever job you did"?
Now, for the one who's left...
Secretly delighted, the female ghost raised her head, only to see the blonde girl whip around so fast that her face had already become a blur.
Huh?
A blur?
Why was it a blur?
For that instant, the female ghost's brain froze.
But she quickly realized something.
Because her right cheek had already felt the fierce gust rushing toward it.
Whoosh!!
As it turned out, Spencer had brought her fist around along with her head.
The female ghost's mind went blank. Her body's danger-avoidance mechanism kicked in, making her instinctively lurch backward and lose her balance, landing on her bottom.
And so the fist wrapped in that whistling gust missed her and struck the wall beside her.
Thud!!
With a dull crash, Spencer's single punch actually punched a hole straight through the Haunted House's shoddy hollow wall!
Rattle...
Some dust also fell from the corridor ceiling because of Spencer's terrifying punch.
Sitting on the floor in the same pose as An Le, the female ghost stared blankly at Spencer, who seemed wreathed in a dark aura, and swallowed.
Spencer took a deep breath and looked at the female ghost sitting before her.
After carefully studying her stunned eyes, Spencer released the breath she had been holding.
"You scared me to death. I thought there really was a ghost, but it's just someone in costume."
"..."
But once the possibility of a "real ghost" had been ruled out, an extremely excited smile returned to Spencer's face.
"Hehe, come to think of it, your costume's pretty interesting. Let me see."
The way she looked at the female ghost on the floor, as though she had discovered some novel toy, sent a chill through the other girl.
"N-no, don't!"
Seeing Spencer pull her fist out of the wall, the female ghost screamed, turned, and ran.
Spencer shouted and took off after her.
"Don't run!!"
"Spencer! W-wait!"
An Le hurriedly got up too and forced herself to keep pace with Spencer.
The female ghost fled blindly in one direction. Behind her, the sound of that girl's shoes striking the floor pounded against her heart like drumbeats, making her panic even more.
In her panic, she ran straight toward the second floor.
Nara's voice immediately scolded her through her Bluetooth Earphones.
"What are you doing?! Why did you bring them up to the second floor?!"
"I'm sorry, waaah! Nara, that girl's terrifying! H-hurry and save me!"
"Tch! Here's what you'll do. Let her keep chasing you and lead the way. Don't let her get near the Infirmary!"
"Huh?! N-no, please, Nara!"
At the same time, Nara instructed the others,
"All NPCs on standby on the second floor, stop that Blond Hair! Don't let her get near the Infirmary!"
"Yes!"
After reaching the second floor, An Le was panting and no longer had the stamina to keep running. Helplessly, she could only call out to Spencer, who was chasing the NPC farther and farther away.
"Spencer! Take the fork here and you'll reach the Infir... mary. Stop chasing her..."
But Spencer didn't hear An Le's little-animal-like call and only kept chasing without looking back.
An Le struggled to try to catch up, only for Little Finger to smack her face.
"Are you stupid?! Don't you remember what she said before we came in? She said she'd help you lure Hitomi Sakuramiya away. Just go straight to the Infirmary and see if you can find Yan Huan!"
"R-right."
"Quick, go! Let Spencer fight Hitomi Sakuramiya. We'll sneak past from here and go straight for Yan Huan!"
"F-for him? As in marrying him? Even if we get married, Xiao Huan should be the one marrying me..."
"For fuck's sake!! Stop talking and go!!"
"O-okay."
An Le glanced once more in the direction Spencer had run, then finally pressed her lips together and walked toward the Infirmary alone.
Her surroundings were eerie. Without her companion, she carefully hugged those black bags to her chest, trying to make herself feel safer that way.
"Miss, we can't stop that Blond Hair. She'll be there soon."
"Tch..."
Hitomi Sakuramiya, who had nearly reached the Infirmary door, frowned.
She wasn't blaming Nara. If the girl had that sort of superpower, it was only natural that they couldn't stop her.
Besides, wasn't that girl's stamina a little too good?
Had all the nutrients that should have supplied her brain gone into her body instead?
No wonder she had such a good figure and such a strong constitution, while her brain seemed to have atrophied.
"Sakuramiya, we're here..."
Yan Huan had also reached the Infirmary door and was examining the bloodstained white sheets partitioning the beds inside.
A faint smell of blood hung in the air. They had probably used animal blood to stage the scene.
Inside, "Manako" was written everywhere in blood-the name of the NPC mentioned in the backstory.
Those names all pointed in one direction in the Infirmary, but Yan Huan glanced over and saw no passage.
Was there a puzzle to solve?
"Sakuramiya, is there really an exit in here?"
Yan Huan looked back toward the doorway and saw Hitomi Sakuramiya standing outside with her nose covered, seemingly unaccustomed to the smell of blood inside.
"Ah, there should be. All the clues pointed here, after all."
"Mm, but we barely saw any NPCs on the way. This Haunted House experience..."
Exactly!!
It was all Spencer's fault!
All the preparations I'd made had been diverted to stopping her!
"Miss, she's almost there!"
Nara's voice came through her earphones, and Hitomi Sakuramiya's expression turned completely cold.
This girl kept pushing her luck. Did she really think I was a pushover?
She actually dared use that ability to taint and influence the president.
Even I had never done that! How dare you?!
At that thought, she turned to look at Yan Huan inside the room, and an idea came to her.
Last time, that girl had kicked the barrier apart from outside its range, so she hadn't been affected by it at all.
This time, what if she brought her inside the barrier?
But its range wasn't enough to encompass the entire Haunted House. The barrier covered only seventy-five square meters, enough for just the corridor on this floor.
As it happened, the president was inside the room, and Spencer was just about to enter this corridor...
"Sakuramiya, come in and close the Infirmary door. I think I've found a clue."
Yan Huan hadn't actually found anything, but he still turned and said that to Sakuramiya.
Because at that moment, he too had heard Meow-chan's warning from his shoulder.
"Spencer's scent has gotten really strong, meow. She's about to reach the corridor outside the door!"
He planned to have Sakuramiya come inside first. If all else failed, he would find an opportunity to go out and face Spencer solo.
At the very least, he couldn't let Hitomi Sakuramiya be affected by the modifier.
But Yan Huan didn't know that Hitomi Sakuramiya, standing in the doorway, had the same thought.
At the very least, I can't let the president be affected by that superpower.
That damned Spencer...
The thick darkness around her was driven by the anger and desire in Hitomi Sakuramiya's heart. As the smile she directed at Yan Huan grew ever brighter, some hidden power poured forth as though floodgates had opened.
The sign of its emergence was a line of illusory text that abruptly appeared before Hitomi Sakuramiya's eyes.
[Congratulations, your barrier has leveled up!] [Barrier level: 2 → 3] [You can now use barriers twice per week. The maximum area covered by a barrier is 100 square meters. A maximum of 2 barriers can exist at once.] [You now have a greater ability to alter the rules within your barriers. You can now add two common-sense rules.]
When she saw that illusory text, Hitomi Sakuramiya's delicate hand had already slowly settled on the door to the corridor.
She made as if to enter and replied to Yan Huan,
"All right, President."
But the next moment, the door swung shut uncontrollably. Her expression froze slightly, as though she hadn't expected it.
"Sakuramiya, watch your hand!"
Yan Huan's pupils contracted slightly as he looked at her hand resting on the doorframe.
Hearing him, Hitomi Sakuramiya hurriedly let go, but she was inevitably shut outside.
Bang!
Yan Huan hurried to the doorway and tried to open the door.
But no matter how hard he pulled, the door wouldn't budge, as though space itself had solidified.
The situation was almost identical to last time, and Yan Huan quickly realized what had happened.
The modifier!
Spencer!!
Yan Huan's expression darkened, but at the same time, he couldn't help letting out a sigh of relief.
Because Yan Huan thought Spencer's actions this time were the same as before.
Since she was coming for him, the barrier had to be inside the room-the room he was in.
That meant Hitomi Sakuramiya had been shut outside, leaving her unaffected by the modifier.
But did that make sense?
Spencer's ability was related to plundering. What good would locking me up alone do?
Last time, locking me up with Sakuramiya had triggered the classic "You wouldn't want this photo getting out" scenario.
But what could she do with just one person?
Or could the current situation have nothing to do with Spencer, and instead be caused by some other...
"Ugh~"
Just as Yan Huan was studying the frozen door in thought, a small, animal-like sound suddenly came from behind him.
He paused slightly and turned around, only to see a girl standing at the entrance to the sealed room with her head lowered.
The girl wore a white mask and a T-shirt much like Yatsuhashi Ki's, which showed off her particularly ample chest.
Her head was lowered, her legs pressed together inside her black trousers, making her look as adorable as a trembling fawn.
The girl held several black bags. Through her loose black hair, Yan Huan caught sight of half her flushed face and a pair of bright, dewy eyes stealing glances at him.
It was An Le.
But to Yan Huan, An Le was merely the unfamiliar girl who had inexplicably been following Spencer around.
"..."
Yan Huan opened his mouth, seeming to understand everything.
Earlier, he had wondered how someone with Spencer's rotten personality could possibly have friends.
Or rather, how anyone could actually hang out with that woman.
Now, Yan Huan finally understood why Spencer had brought this girl to the convention.
Now that felt right!
Everything made sense!
The ability behind this space absolutely belonged to Spencer!
That damned blonde just loved setting up these scenarios, didn't she?!
Meanwhile, on the bashful girl's shoulder, an illusory white figure that neither Yan Huan nor Meow-chan could detect raised its head, clearly extremely excited.
"See? Didn't I tell you listening to me was the right move?! Spencer and Hitomi Sakuramiya are alone outside, and you've successfully snuck into their base!"
Blushing, An Le bashfully glanced at Yan Huan. Like Little Finger, she failed to see Meow-chan on his shoulder, and asked inside her head,
"But Little Finger, how did you know the Vice President Sakuramiya would definitely be lured away?"
"Huh? Well... of course! Because I'm the smartest Little Finger, so I can predict everything!!"
In reality, how could it possibly know why Hitomi Sakuramiya wasn't here?
After all, Spencer hardly seemed trustworthy.
Would you sooner believe she could successfully lure Hitomi Sakuramiya away, or that An Le could get to a base with Yan Huan tomorrow?
All I can say is, heaven is on my side!
Lay your identity bare today, start getting all lovey-dovey tomorrow, and use pleasure manipulation to make Yan Huan yours alone the day after!
Little Finger tipped up its nose, already imagining the wonderful days after it claimed victory.
So it patted An Le's shoulder and encouraged her,
"Quick, opportunity knocks but once. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance. Say something to the Xiao Huan you've been longing for day and night~"
"..."
An Le pressed her lips together and clenched her fists, as though she had made up her mind.
The next second, she raised her head to look at Yan Huan before her.
Outside the Infirmary, Spencer chased after the Female Ghost, only to lose sight of her after rounding a corner.
She stopped in place, opened her mouth, and looked back, only to discover that An Le was long gone.
"..."
Spencer smacked her forehead and said belatedly,
"Oh crap, did I leave An Le behind?"
Little Finger had guessed wrong.
In fact, soon after entering the Haunted House, Spencer had forgotten all about saying, "I'll help you lure Hitomi Sakuramiya away," at the entrance.
She had found the Female Ghost's costume amusing and gotten hooked on chasing her. Now that she looked back, An Le was nowhere to be seen.
The problem was...
Spencer had no sense of direction.
With An Le leading the way earlier, they had quickly caught up to Hitomi Sakuramiya and Yan Huan, who had entered ahead of them.
But now...
Spencer folded her arms and looked around with an extremely guilty air, muttering,
"I think we were supposed to go to the Infirmary, but it's so dark here. How am I supposed to know what's where?"
She turned back and tried to look into an abandoned classroom beside her, but its door would not budge, as though space itself had frozen.
Refusing to give up, Spencer pulled with all her might, but still couldn't open the door.
"..."
Spencer pouted, released the door handle, and scratched the back of her head.
Hitomi Sakuramiya, meanwhile, hid in the shadows, using the Barrier's power to shadow Spencer and monitor her within it.
She had no intention of revealing herself, or even of attacking Spencer directly here. She simply had to keep her from approaching Yan Huan.
There were two reasons.
First, she couldn't maintain the Barrier for very long.
Nara had surveillance cameras throughout the place, and there were plenty of NPCs as well. Although she had used the Barrier to temporarily disable the cameras on the second floor, Nara and the others would notice something was wrong if it went on too long.
Second, she didn't know exactly what the other woman's Superpower was.
So far, the ability she knew Spencer possessed involved tampering with thoughts, but the physical prowess that had left a whole group of bodyguards unable to stop her also concerned her.
Since her own Superpower was so complicated, she kept feeling that the other woman's Superpower couldn't be that simple.
Thus, her plan from here on was to protect the president and work out exactly what Spencer's Superpower was.
Hitomi Sakuramiya studied Spencer's back with a cold, stern gaze as she pressed her palms together, trying out her Common Sense Modification ability for the first time.
[It is common sense that violence must not be used.]
From Hitomi Sakuramiya's perspective, Spencer paused slightly, then scratched her head.
Then she kicked the door beside her with a boom!
Hitomi Sakuramiya blinked, momentarily rooted to the spot.
It...
It didn't work?
In fact, after delivering that kick in the corridor, Spencer wore a thoroughly satisfied expression.
"Going against common sense feels so good~"
"..."
Outside in the corridor, the meticulous Hitomi Sakuramiya, concealed in the shadows, began a covert contest against Spencer, who stood out in the open, knowing nothing.
It was as though two illusory things containing terrifying power were wrestling in midair.
Hitomi Sakuramiya wasn't discouraged. Instead, she quickly changed tack and began considering other ways to deal with Spencer.
At the same time, she couldn't help thinking:
The president must be so worried about me, all alone in the Infirmary right now, right?
After all, he took such good care of me the last time we were alone~
Hitomi Sakuramiya understood exactly what she was doing.
All of this was to protect the president.
She had to keep Spencer away from the president, so she regarded the Infirmary beside her as even more important than the Crystal in a MOBA Game.
She absolutely couldn't let Spencer take a single step closer to the Crystal!
Before you continue
