Li Luo began carefully listening at the doors of each room again.
Most of the rooms were completely quiet and made no sound. Aside from the room with snake noises and the room with water sounds, she did not hear anything else.
Before she knew it, she was nearing the end of the corridor. Just when she thought she would find nothing more, she finally heard another sound at one of the doors...
"It's barking... There's a dog inside."
And that "dog" was especially close to the door. It seemed to have caught Li Luo's scent and hurried over. She could even hear it running around inside the room. Once it reached the door, it began barking softly at it, seemingly trying to get Li Luo's attention.
The sound was quite distinct, and even Mo Ling heard it.
He had been too far away to make out the sounds from the previous rooms, but this dog was so close to the door that he could hear it clearly.
Still, before Li Luo opened the door, Mo Ling did not dare conclude that there really was a "dog" inside. Perhaps some monster was imitating a dog's bark to confuse her.
While Mo Ling let his imagination run wild, Li Luo outside the door began to hesitate as well.
She hesitated over whether to open it. Judging from the Tropical Rainforest room just now, there did not seem to be any danger in these rooms that could kill her outright, but she still had to be careful. What if, like that room earlier, a snake was hanging right on the door? If she suddenly opened it, the consequences would be unthinkable.
