Li Luo and Evil Dog stared at each other, wide-eyed, in silence for a long time.
"Who brought you here?"
Li Luo asked tentatively, not expecting Evil Dog to answer her.
But Evil Dog seemed to understand. It gently rubbed against Li Luo's feet, then ran toward the door. After taking only two steps, it turned back and barked at Li Luo a few times, seemingly telling her to follow it.
Li Luo paused for a moment, then followed.
Evil Dog darted out the door and curiously looked around, its tiny eyes brimming with excitement. It seemed to have been shut in the room for far too long. It spun around excitedly again, then, once Li Luo caught up, ran toward the end of the corridor while constantly looking back.
After leading Li Luo to the end of the corridor, it barked at the wall there, then ran back to her feet and tucked its head behind her legs. Like an ostrich burying its head, it looked utterly ridiculous.
Li Luo glanced suspiciously at the wall at the end of the corridor, then turned to look at the hiding Evil Dog.
"Is there something scary over there?"
She cautiously walked toward the end, but nothing happened even when she reached the wall. Looking around, she discovered a staircase leading upstairs along the side.
Just as she was about to check out the stairs, Evil Dog suddenly began barking at the wall behind her again. Though its bark was childish and squeaky, it carried a hint of menace.
Li Luo was immediately drawn by the barking and stopped.
She stared carefully at the wall and finally noticed something strange.
