As he stepped onto the Abyss Elevator, Mo Ling gazed into the darkness below. The silent call was more alluring than it had ever been before. His heart pounded as though something within that pitch-black hole were tugging at his heartstrings.
Even after the elevator began moving, Mo Ling kept staring into the Abyss. The surroundings gradually darkened. Though it was still daytime, the Abyss's sheer cliffs swallowed all sunlight, shrouding everyone in thick darkness.
The explorers were startled by the sudden darkness and began whispering among themselves. Only Mo Ling remained entirely unaffected; he could see every detail in the darkness with perfect clarity.
He saw the panic on the explorers' faces. He watched the once-vertical cliff walls drift farther and farther from the elevator before eventually vanishing into the distance, leaving only a slowly descending elevator in the empty darkness.
