Time Difference Zone

"These aren't grains of sand, but the homes of some kind of microorganisms..."

Mo Ling gradually understood. This information came from tiny organisms that lived on the "grains of sand." They built structures identical to the grains themselves, mixing them among the other grains to conceal their traces.

The grains that had flown into the sky were built by them. They carried their homes into the night sky to escape the "Time Difference Zone."

This was also a type of region that occasionally appeared within the Eternal Night.

The reason those sand-grain creatures feared the Time Difference Zone so much was that it would carry them into another time.

The laws of time within a Time Difference Zone differed from those of the Outside World. Time might move very quickly or very slowly; it might flow toward the past or advance toward the future. Creatures entering it might be taken into the past, or they might be taken into the future.

Whether it was the past or the future, both were terrifying, because it meant their living environment would undergo enormous changes.

The best choice was to flee above the Time Difference Zone.

Just as those sand-grain creatures had said, the farther down one went in the Time Difference Zone, the greater the difference from normal time. High concentrations of "Time Gravel" had settled at the bottom. Once trapped within it, one would suffer an enormous temporal deviation from reality and be taken into the distant past or future.
