Mo Ling suddenly realized that he seemed to have set some major event in motion again.
What unfolded before him happened with perfect naturalness. That teleportation had effortlessly shattered the chaos, and the void it left behind naturally stretched into the distance, creating endless darkness...
After witnessing the darkness spread with his own eyes, Mo Ling understood Jing Tian a little better.
"The consciousness of the Dark Race is, in truth, the consciousness of darkness."
It was simply that, as the darkness spread, barriers had appeared between those consciousnesses.
Those barriers gave rise to individual "entities."
Only the Quiet Night Tribe still maintained their connection to the darkness. They were a group of "Traditionalists," guarding that final mass of shadow and preventing the consciousness of darkness from fully dispersing.
Yet this was ultimately a dying struggle. Darkness would continue to expand through time and space, and the divisions would grow ever more severe. By then, the collection of consciousnesses would completely scatter, and the Dark Race would become wholly independent individuals.
Everything the Quiet Night Tribe did would ultimately be in vain.
They understood it themselves. The darkness was growing weaker and more scattered by the day; that once-unified consciousness no longer existed. That was why they desperately helped the darkness fulfill its will, hoping to accomplish its mission before their shared consciousness vanished completely.
But what exactly was that mission?
Mo Ling looked toward the edge of the void. The dense chaos was being squeezed outward by time and space, pushed farther and farther away...
