Entering the Research Institute

As Li Luo looked at the cameras reflecting glints of light, the main gate suddenly opened with a click.

A crack split open in the black gate, and rippling patterns of light flickered within the gap.

"Is this telling me to go in?"

Li Luo looked at the gate, then at the cameras, and decisively stepped forward.

The gate was heavy. Li Luo had to use considerable force to push it open. She turned sideways and squeezed through the gap into the Research Institute, then pulled the opening wider from inside so Cube could float in as well.

Once Cube was inside, Li Luo let go. The gate slowly closed behind her, sealing shut so tightly that it seemed to completely cut Li Luo off from the outside world.

Staring at the tightly sealed gate, Li Luo froze for a moment. She had actually gotten in just like that.

The Research Institute was still lit by rainbow neon lights. After Li Luo entered, the surveillance cameras within slowly turned toward her again.

There was clearly no one there, yet Li Luo felt as though needles were pricking her back.

Just as Li Luo wondered which way she should go, a hunched figure appeared amid the colorful glow in the distance.

It seemed to be an old man, slowly walking toward the gate.

Li Luo waited where she was, but he walked far too slowly, so she simply headed over to meet him with Cube.

She did not stop until she rushed up before the figure.

"Young people shouldn't be so impatient." A hoarse voice drifted over.

Li Luo looked ahead and realized that the old man was the one speaking.
