Another History

Watching A Qing rush into the Meeting Room, Mo Ling sighed.

Old Ping had not returned...

The reason no sound had come from the Meeting Room was that Mo Ling had been observing it the entire time. As long as there was an "observer," those sounds would not appear.

But Mo Ling had observed the Meeting Room for a long time and found nothing wrong. It was still exactly as before, without any changes.

The steaming food, the neatly arranged tables, chairs, bowls, and chopsticks—everything looked just as it had twenty years ago...

Ever since Mo Ling had returned from that strange Dream, he had discovered that history seemed to have undergone a slight "change."

After Li Luo entered the Research Institute, the security guard she encountered was no longer Old Ping, but A Qing.

From their conversation, it was also clear that the security guard who had gone missing from the Research Institute back then had changed from A Qing to Old Ping.

This had left Mo Ling confused. He could not make sense of the current situation.

"Why had time returned to the moment Li Luo first entered the Research Institute?"

"Why had history changed?"

Mo Ling could not figure it out, so he could only attribute it to the Dream he had had.

In the Dream, he had changed A Qing's choice, causing Old Ping to be the one who disappeared while A Qing survived.

"Could the choices made in that Dream alter reality?"

Or perhaps it had not been a Dream at all, but something else?

Mo Ling still had not figured out what that Colored Mist was, but he was certain that it was the Colored Mist that had turned him into "A Qing," brought him back to the scene of the Missing Persons Case
