The villa's laundry room was huge, with five whole tubs of dirty clothes piled up like a small mountain.
The servants stood to one side, looking rather lost. After hesitating for a long time, they pushed the person in the middle forward.
Steward Wu stumbled a step and turned back indignantly. Hey, you lot?
You really had no qualms about sacrificing me at a crucial moment, huh?
The servants deliberately pretended not to understand his look and glanced around.
Helpless, Steward Wu could only steel himself and sidle furtively up to Chen Bei. He lowered his voice. "Special Assistant Chen, could I have a word in private?"
"Mm." Chen Bei nodded and followed Steward Wu to a corner of the laundry room. "We're old colleagues. What is it?"
Steward Wu glanced at the young masters raging nearby before speaking cautiously. "Special Assistant Chen, the old master will have to step down sooner or later. Aren't you afraid they'll get revenge later for the way you're treating them?"
Chen Bei admitted frankly, "I am."
Scared to death.
Steward Wu froze. "Then why have you been acting like a completely different person these past few days?"
Every word out of his mouth was a firecracker, and he showed no one any respect.
Had he really come under the central government's direct authority?
Before Chen Bei could respond, Steward Wu advised him again. "While you can still stop, try to salvage things as much as possible. They're all Old Luo's own grandsons. He can't really want to drive them to their deaths, can he?"
Chen Bei sighed. "Things have come this far. There's no salvaging them."
Unless I can get this fucking mouth of mine under control.
Hearing this, Steward Wu gave him a long look, unable to help admiring him. As expected of someone the old master had hired at a high salary: loyal, upright, and responsible...
His courage was extraordinary, too.
Wasn't he afraid of the young masters' pheromones going haywire?
Perhaps guessing what Steward Wu was thinking, Chen Bei pulled several syringes from his backpack, blue fluorescent liquid flowing inside them. "Don't worry. For my personal safety, I carry special suppressants with me."
Somewhat reassured, Steward Wu nodded, only to hear the next sentence.
"At a critical moment, I'll stab one straight into a major artery without hesitation."
Steward Wu's pupils practically shattered. "Won't a syringe that thick kill someone?"
The young masters, at a loss before the laundry tubs, turned their heads in unison, the corners of their mouths twitching slightly.
Could you at least act like you're talking behind our backs?
Discussing whether injecting suppressants would kill someone, right under the surveillance cameras?
Do you think we're corpses?
After displaying his "weapons," Chen Bei put his backpack back on and returned to the regular filming position. He lowered his eyes to his watch and said mercilessly, "Finish washing everything within an hour. I'll inspect the results."
"Anyone who tries to bluff their way through, makes a halfhearted effort, or leaves anything dirty will have points deducted."
With that, he was about to turn away, but he had barely moved when Luo Chen shouted angrily, "Special Assistant Chen, where are you going?!"
"To have tea and little snacks," Chen Bei blurted out.
Already seated on a little stool, Luo Ming propped his chin on one hand and asked languidly, "Special Assistant Chen, aren't you supervising?"
Chen Bei raised a hand and pointed at the camera. "There's a cameraman here. I can just watch the monitor."
Hearing this, Luo Chen grew even angrier. "You're making your bosses do hard labor while you go enjoy yourself?! Special Assistant Chen, do you have a death wish?!"
Chen Bei said, "Do I look like I'm trying to live a nice, long life?"
Stuck with the Truth-Telling System... you can all fucking die!
[Hahahaha, Special Assistant Chen really knows how to clap back. That domineering CEO's face has turned green.]
[Special Assistant Chen is so badass. He's just like an employee quietly losing his mind. Watching him makes me feel less worn down by work!]
[Come on, always remember this is scripted. It's just for entertainment. If you acted like this in real life, you'd have been fired ages ago!]
[Can't an ordinary beta like me fantasize a little? Can't I have a superhero of my own?]
[Exactly! I dream of talking back to my boss like that. Special Assistant Chen is making my dreams come true!]

A dressing room in Hengdian.
An omega with delicate features was staring intently at a tablet, completely unaware of his manager approaching from behind.
"You're watching this variety show too?"
As the question reached his ears, the omega hurriedly locked the tablet. "It just came up while I was scrolling."
The manager failed to notice the embarrassment on the omega's face and sat down beside him. "This variety show blew up as soon as it started airing. It's practically a phenomenon. When I get a chance, I'll contact the director and get you on it."
The omega forced a smile. "But they're all S-rank alphas. I probably don't qualify, do I?"
"Why wouldn't you?" The manager looked certain. "The production team is considering surprise guests right now. Besides, you know President Luo. When the time comes, just give him a call. Surely he'd do you that little favor?"
The omega's expression stiffened slightly. "I don't know him well."
"Weren't you the one who helped President Luo when his pheromones went haywire?" The manager frowned. "If you hadn't provided a temporary mark, President Luo wouldn't have been able to leave the venue that day."
Realizing his tone was too harsh, he softened it somewhat. "Meng Han, it's hard enough to get by in entertainment. If you don't find a rich patron to back you, I'm afraid you'll have a hard time making it to the A-list."
"I don't have any great ambitions. I'd be happy just having enough to eat and wear." Meng Han lowered his head, his eyes reddening slightly.
The manager glared at him in exasperation. "If all you want is food and clothes, why did you enter the entertainment industry? You might as well find an alpha and marry him."
Meng Han said nothing more.
Seeing him remain as uncomprehending as a block of wood, the manager stamped his foot and stormed out. Before slamming the door, he left a harsh warning. "If your career keeps going nowhere, don't blame me for sending you to keep some old lecher company!"
With a bang, the door slammed.
Meng Han's rigid back instantly slumped.
He sighed softly and opened the tablet again. The live variety show was still going, and a clear, blunt voice spilled from the speakers.
"Anyone putting on an act can get the hell out right now."
Meng Han's eyes lit up. God, that feels so good.
When will I be able to say what's on my mind without any reservations, like Special Assistant Chen?
After finishing a whole handful of sunflower seeds and tossing the shells into the bin beside him, Chen Bei dusted off his hands and stood.
The camera hurriedly followed him. "Special Assistant Chen, are you going to the laundry room now?"
"No." Chen Bei shook his head. "I'm going to the kitchen for a bottle of AD calcium milk."
The cameraman said, "..."
The anger in the laundry room is practically off the charts, and you still want milk?
Chen Bei opened the fridge and took out a bottle.
Just as he was about to close it, something occurred to him, and he turned to ask, "Want one?"
"Me?" The cameraman pointed at himself, clearly overwhelmed by the unexpected kindness. "I get one too?"
"Of course." Chen Bei smiled. "Workers' lives matter too."
The cameraman reached out to take it, only to discover that Chen Bei had thoughtfully inserted the straw for him.
He blushed a little. "Thank you."
Before his words had even faded, someone suddenly kicked open the laundry room door.
The Luo Group's president of foreign affairs rushed up to Chen Bei and imperiously held out both hands. "Special Assistant Chen, my hands are already this red and swollen, and you're still saying I failed?"
"Are you making things difficult for me on purpose?"
Special Assistant Chen calmly sipped his AD calcium milk, his voice muffled. "You washed clothes without laundry detergent. Even if your hands swell into pig's trotters, you still fail."
"You're the first omega who's ever dared call my hands pig's trotters." Luo Yu suddenly took a highly intimidating step forward, a sinister glint flashing through his eyes.
"Very well, Special Assistant Chen. You've successfully caught my attention!"
