Background

Origins and Adoption

Lu Junjia is the son of Qiao Xinyue’s childhood sweetheart and the woman that man married after Qiao Xinyue entered an arranged marriage with Lu Hongshen. His parents died in a car accident when he was a small child, leaving no one willing to take him in. Qiao Xinyue hired Aunt Liu to care for him for a year, then brought them both into the Lu household the year after Li Yi disappeared 141.

Qiao Xinyue favored Junjia over even her own children. Lu Shixuan initially suspected that he might be her biological son, but a maternity test ruled out a blood relationship. Junjia subsequently occupied the position of the family’s cherished youngest son for more than a decade 1 141.

His privileges included a suite with a walk-in closet, gaming room, bathroom, and bedroom, alongside a monthly allowance of 200,000 yuan and additional gifts from family members. By contrast, the returning Li Yi received an isolated guest room and only 1,000 yuan a month 2 6.

Original Novel and Previous Timeline

In the original novel, Junjia is presented as a universally adored romantic protagonist: kind, sensible, understanding, and treasured by his family. Zhou Xuanze, his childhood sweetheart, colludes with him to obtain the inheritance left to Li Yi 1.

In Li Yi’s previous life, Zhou gained Li Yi’s trust as his fiancé and persuaded him to become a company’s legal representative. When the company’s problems left Li Yi facing disgrace and possible imprisonment, Junjia offered to save him in exchange for his Lu Group shares. Li Yi surrendered the inheritance, only to discover Zhou kissing Junjia the following day 1.

Li Yi’s recollections also identify Junjia and Zhou as the future instigators of a smear campaign exploiting Peng Yuyan’s matchmaking activities. At Li Yi’s funeral in the original novel, the pair even argued out of jealousy before Zhou soothed Junjia with affection 4 31.

When Lu Hongshen prepares to punish Li Yi, Junjia anticipates his suffering and plans to prevent anyone from bringing him medicine 5.

His attachment to the Lu family is closely tied to exclusivity and security. He hopes that taking Li Yi’s shares will allow the family to expel Li Yi and leave him as its only young master. He also envies Li Yi’s connection to Shi Yan and considers pursuing Shi Yan because his status and wealth surpass Zhou Xuanze’s 3 41 53.

His composure breaks under intimidation or romantic competition. He retreats when Li Yi threatens him with a hammer, begs for mercy during the bedroom confrontation, and becomes openly furious when Li Xu wins Zhou’s attention. Li Yi’s Rebellion

After his rebirth, Li Yi refuses to remain submissive. He slaps Junjia, uses the inheritance as leverage to force an apology, and takes over Junjia’s suite after breaking its door with a hammer. Junjia continues working with Zhou Xuanze to obtain Li Yi’s shares and asks Zhou to secure Li Yi’s examination admission number 3 6 8 10.

Their efforts to control Li Yi’s university application fail. Li Yi gives them a false score and misleading admission information while independently securing a place in Beiqing University’s artificial intelligence program 40.

Junjia also joins Lu Xingluo in breaking into Li Yi’s room and searching for Sheriff. Li Yi retaliates with an umbrella, dirty cat litter, and insecticide, while a tuxedo cat scratches Junjia’s calves 23.

Coffee Retaliation

Li Yi serves Junjia, Lu Hongshen, and Lu Xingluo coffee secretly contaminated with Sheriff’s feces, presenting it as authentic Kopi Luwak. The incident leaves Junjia with a persistent aversion to coffee and its associated smells 18 28 86 96.

On Island Love, he deliberately recalls the coffee to make himself vomit while pretending to be seasick, but vomits onto Zhou Xuanze and is shoved to the floor. Later, receiving Blue Mountain Coffee makes him vomit again; because Lu Chuzhou endorses the brand, Chuzhou orders him to apologize to Li Yi 86 96.

*Island Love* and Shi Yan

Junjia appears on Island Love alongside Zhou Xuanze and Lu Chuzhou. Early viewers support his pairing with Zhou, but their awkward interactions contrast with Shi Yan’s attentive treatment of Li Yi 85 86.

After mocking Li Yi’s single room key, Junjia is drawn into a cheating accusation against the production team and has to apologize when director Zhu Zhuxia publicly rebukes it. He later attempts to undermine Li Yi’s relationship by inviting Shi Yan on a date and implying that Shi Yan once pursued him. Shi Yan rejects the claim and identifies Li Yi as the person he had been searching for 89 112.

Junjia also leaks news during Shi Yan’s disappearance, hoping trouble at Shi Yan’s company will relieve pressure on Lu Corporation. Shi Yan’s staff establish his involvement, and Shi Yan begins arranging retaliation 119 120.

Rivalry with Li Xu

Li Xu begins distancing himself from Junjia after learning that Junjia knew about his feelings for Zhou and had used them to obtain benefits. He subsequently becomes an active romantic rival 62 112.

During a forest-treehouse trip, hired thugs disguised as black bears drug Junjia and Zhou, beat Junjia, strip them, and stage a compromising scene. The thugs injure Zhou’s knuckles to suggest that he inflicted Junjia’s injuries. Neither man understands what actually happened 124 127.

Li Xu exploits the aftermath to increase Zhou’s distrust. Zhou favors Li Xu during mushroom picking and tells Junjia that they need time apart. Although Junjia briefly softens him again through a tearful explanation, Zhou later rejects him and orders him out of his hospital room 128 129 131 132.

Investigation and Imprisonment

After Zhou and Li Xu withdraw from the show, Junjia follows them to Beicheng. Footage of him throwing a lifesaving rope into the sea triggers public condemnation and the trending hashtag #LuJunjiaMurderer. Police take him to the station for questioning 120 133.

Li Yi later survives Junjia’s attempt to have him killed. Lawyer He obtains evidence against Junjia, while Shi Yan suspects that Qiao Xinyue helped arrange the attack. Junjia ultimately receives a nine-year prison sentence 145 150.
