Senju Chen prepared for an attack on Konoha, recruited Fugaku and the Uchiha Clan, and confronted the plots of Obito and Danzō during the Nine-Tails’ rampage. Despite his efforts to save Minato and Kushina, both died, leaving Chen to preserve Kushina’s soul and entrust Naruto to Kakashi as he set out to settle a score.

• Senju Chen recruited Yukimura Shigure to build an intelligence network against Karatachi Yagura and arranged help for the Akatsuki and the endangered Tsunade and Shizune.
• Senju Chen returned to Konoha and warned Uchiha Fugaku that an enemy might target Kushina and the Nine-Tails, persuading him to mobilize the Uchiha Clan.
• Senju Chen and Fugaku prepared for the crisis as Danzō ordered Root to eliminate targets, while Madara sent Obito to attack Konoha.
• Obito kidnapped newborn Naruto, extracted the Nine-Tails from Kushina, and controlled Kurama, but Senju Chen rescued Kushina as the beast began rampaging through Konoha.
• Fugaku led Uchiha squads in evacuating civilians, Minato drove Obito away and diverted the Nine-Tails’ attack, and Senju Chen’s allies countered Root’s assassins.
• Senju Chen broke through Minato and Kushina’s sealing barrier and tried to stop Minato from sacrificing himself, but the Reaper Death Seal took Minato’s soul and sealed half the Nine-Tails into Naruto.
• Senju Chen sealed Minato’s body and took Kushina and Naruto home, where he preserved Kushina’s soul in a Sealing Coffin as she died.
• Senju Chen handed Naruto to Kakashi and left to settle a score.

Senju Chen killed Madara, helped Konoha recover from the Nine-Tails’ attack, and took control of Root, turning it into the Public Security Department. He recruited Kabuto and Yamato, then supplied Orochimaru, Amado, and Sasori with White Zetsu for experiments that began producing strange new life.

• Senju Chen pursued Obito to Madara’s cavern, killed Madara with the Thunder God Sword, sealed his corpse, and claimed the Demonic Statue and White Zetsu.
• After returning to Konoha, Senju Chen exposed Root’s attacks on officials’ families, and Hiruzen Sarutobi confined Shimura Danzō after the investigation linked the assassins to Root.
• Senju Chen arranged for Uchiha Fugaku and Uchiha Mikoto to foster Naruto, and Hiruzen agreed while ordering Anbu to protect him.
• Senju Chen took charge of Root, renamed it the Public Security Department, and recruited Kabuto as his deputy, and Shisui and many Root members joined the new unit.
• Senju Chen renamed Kinoe Yamato, brought him into the Senju residence, and assigned him to help with the department’s work.
• Senju Chen brought living White Zetsu to Orochimaru, Amado, and Sasori, who studied their concealment, transformations, regeneration, and ability to assimilate foreign material.
• The researchers explored White Zetsu as a basis for weapons, puppet bodies, and new life, while Orochimaru implanted his soul fragment and a Wood Release clone into one host.
• Senju Chen found a featureless creature thrashing in a tank as branches and vines grew from its body.

Senju Chen tested new Red Zetsu clones and took control of Danzo’s intelligence network after Shimura Danzō escaped Konoha. As the other villages probed Konoha’s weakness, Chen secured support for Tsunade as Hokage and directed the hunt toward the Land of Rain.

• Senju Chen implanted soul fragments into two Red Zetsu bodies and tested their elemental attacks, regeneration, infiltration abilities, and fusion into living armor.
• Orochimaru gave Senju Chen Danzo’s intelligence codes, and Shimura Danzō escaped Konoha after severely injuring Shisui Uchiha.
• Senju Chen secured authority for the Public Security Department to hunt Shimura Danzō and ordered Kabuto Yakushi to activate and reorganize the former Root network.
• Senju Chen supplied Orochimaru’s researchers with more White Zetsu and deployed others to reproduce secretly and build an intelligence network.
• Senju Chen reported the other villages’ moves against Konoha and won support for Tsunade to become Fifth Hokage while Hiruzen Sarutobi served temporarily.
• Senju Chen persuaded Jiraiya to leave Naruto Uzumaki with the Uchiha Clan and advised Fugaku to counter Hiruzen Sarutobi’s suppression by helping villagers recover.
• Senju Chen delegated village affairs to Kabuto Yakushi, staged his departure to find Tsunade, and persuaded Maruboshi Kosuke to accept reconstruction of his missing foot.
• Senju Chen received reports of Shimura Danzō in the Land of Rain and dispatched White Zetsu and a clone to help Hatake Sakumo and Kakuzu locate and capture or kill him.

Senju Chen eliminated Shimura Danzō, strengthened his position in Konoha, and persuaded Tsunade to return and become Fifth Hokage. With Tsunade installed, he began reshaping the village’s intelligence and security forces while pursuing a way to recover Minato.

• Senju Chen, Hatake Sakumo, and Kakuzu killed Shimura Danzō after Senju Chen exposed that he had helped Sakumo fake his death.
• Senju Chen sealed Danzō’s body, sent evidence to Konoha, and continued supporting research and the rescued Kekkei Genkai children.
• Senju Chen traveled to the Land of Whirlpools, reunited with Tsunade and Shizune, and told Tsunade about Minato’s death and Danzō’s experiments on Yamato.
• Senju Chen explained that Orochimaru was studying White Zetsu cells to resolve his bloodline conflict, and Tsunade renewed her hope that Orochimaru could save her younger brother.
• Tsunade returned to Konoha and accepted the position of Fifth Hokage as the village’s clans and shinobi voiced their support.
• Senju Chen found the Hannya mask and learned from the Reaper Death Seal formula that the Death God enslaved captured souls, then resolved to seek a way to bring back Minato.
• After Tsunade’s inauguration, Senju Chen asked her to coordinate intelligence and approve recruitment and personnel exchanges for the Public Security Department, and Tsunade agreed in principle.
