The wind on Mount Guiji's peak swept remnants of the Sword Tomb past Chu Mo's hair. He stared at the surging growths on the Demon God's heart, his knuckles white from gripping too tightly. The Sword Master's memory of that world-ending battle still echoed in his Sea of Consciousness, especially the word "Inverse" the Sword Master had carved into the hilt before his death—that unfinished stroke, so like the crack of destiny now lying between him and the black-robed leader.
"Thirty thousand years, and you finally come with the Sword Master's pity to judge us." The black-robed leader pushed back his hood, revealing a dark purple mark on his forehead that pulsed in sync with the Demon God's heart. "Do you know why we willingly became demonized? Because we know better than anyone—the Sword Master's Dao heart was always the most magnificent cage." He raised a hand, and the Dao Devouring Silk on the Broken Sword suddenly expanded, wriggling like living things towards the light cocoon. Each strand was wrapped in the wails of generations of Saintesses.
Chu Mo's Chaos Sword trembled in his palm. The star map pattern on its sheath suddenly resonated with the finger bones of the Sword Master's skeleton. He saw the twelve disciples from the Sword Master's memory, how they had used their own spiritual meridians to buy the Sword Master time to seal the Demon God during its first invasion. "They weren't traitors..." Chu Mo murmured. The Fate Defying Sword suddenly let out a clear ringing, cutting down the Dao Devouring Silk just before it touched the light cocoon. "They were... Fate Defiers, who used degradation to protect the dawn."
The black-robed leader's pupils contracted. "You can actually see the Spiritual Meridian Contract?!" His Broken Sword clattered to the ground, revealing tiny carvings on the inside of the hilt—the words "Protect the Dao" that the twelve disciples had carved together back then, now stained and mottled with demon blood.
The Demon God's heart suddenly beat erratically, and the growths on its surface split open, revealing Twin Remnant Souls. The golden Sword Master remnant soul sat cross-legged in the center, surrounded by twelve pale golden chains, formed from the life souls of the Godfall Pavilion Saintesses; the dark purple Demon God remnant soul coiled around the chains like a venomous snake, each struggle causing the bones of Mount Guiji to wail in sorrow.
"Chu Mo, look at the Sword Master's fingertip!" Yun Che suddenly pointed at the skeleton. The Sword Master's right index finger was slightly extended forward, the remaining divine blood on the fingertip forming a bloody link with the light cocoon—that was the power of breaking the situation, willingly injected by each generation of hosts upon their death over thirty thousand years.
The Chaos Sword and Fate Defying Sword suddenly left Chu Mo's palms, hovering above the Twin Remnant Souls. Chu Mo felt two forces tearing at his Sea of Consciousness: on one side was the Sword Master's inherited path of "using the body as a prison," and on the other was the Demon God's tempting desire to "devour all things." When he saw fragments of Zi Lin's scales light up on the surface of the light cocoon, sudden enlightenment struck him—
"The Sword Master used bone as a monument, so we shall use blood as an inscription!" Chu Mo bit his fingertip and dripped his essence blood onto the Fate Defying Sword. "Yun Che, use your Ice Clan Fate Pearl to protect the Sword Master's remnant soul!"
Yun Che's soft sword transformed into thousands of ice crystals, condensing into a lotus shape around the Sword Master's remnant soul. Each ice crystal reflected the smiling faces of Saintesses like Zi Lin and Wu Yin. Their remnant souls condensed into light butterflies within the ice crystals, and with a flutter of their wings, they actually burned the tentacles of the Demon God remnant soul, leaving scorched marks.
The black-robed leader suddenly let out a tragic laugh and knelt before the Sword Master's skeleton. "So... you had already hidden the key to breaking the situation within the emotions of each generation of hosts." He ripped off his black robe, revealing a back covered in sword marks. Each scar corresponded to the trajectory of the Sword Master's battle back then. "The twelve of us, in fact, were never demonized. We merely used the facade of degradation to protect the Sword Master's last trace of unpolluted Dao heart..."
Before he could finish speaking, the Demon God remnant soul suddenly erupted with intense light, pulling the black-robed leader into the heart. Chu Mo saw his dying memory: in the dark room of the Godfall Pavilion, the twelve disciples took turns connecting their spiritual meridians to the Sword Master's skeleton, using painful roars to cover their apologies to the host.
"Inverse Twin, neither black nor white." Chu Mo gripped the twin swords, remembering the unfinished words from the Sword Master's memory. When the Chaos Sword and Fate Defying Sword simultaneously pierced the Demon God's heart, the chains on the Sword Master's remnant soul snapped. However, instead of destroying the Demon God as expected, it intertwined with the dark purple remnant soul, transforming into a Yin-Yang fish pattern.
The Sword Tomb on Mount Guiji suddenly all pointed towards Chu Mo, and the Sword Master's spine let out a bell-like resonance. Chu Mo felt thousands of Sword Qi surging into his body. The memories of the sacrificed hosts, now transformed into the purest Sword Intent, carved a brand new sword technique into his Sea of Consciousness—"Twin is not a calamity, but true intent; using the heart as a sword, without end or beginning."
As the Yin-Yang fish merged into his Endless Body, Chu Mo's eyes flashed with dual golden and purple light. He saw the nine islands of the Ninth Divine Region reorganizing. At the peak of each island, the ethereal figures of past hosts appeared. They looked towards Mount Guiji, revealing smiles of relief. And in the palm of the Sword Master's skeleton, a lotus forged from divine blood and demonic energy had appeared at some point. Carved on its petals were the words: "My Dao has collapsed, a new Sword Sovereign shall rise."
Yun Che gently touched his shoulder. "Chu Mo, look." The palace gates had opened at some point. Behind the gates was a space filled with countless floating light cocoons. Inside each cocoon slept an "Chu Mo" and "Yun Che" who had never been contaminated by destiny—that was the purest original intention, preserved by the Sword Master using the Law of Time.
The Chaos Sword and Fate Defying Sword suddenly returned to their sheaths automatically. The patterns on the hilts actually combined to form the complete words "Fate Defying." Chu Mo knew that the cycle of thirty thousand years had truly ended at this moment, and his path as a Sword Sovereign had just begun—no longer the Sword Master's shadow, nor the Demon God's opponent, but as Chu Mo, carrying the will of all those who had sacrificed, forging a path without precedent, an endless path within the Twin True Intent.
As he and Yun Che stepped into the palace, the sound of bones reorganizing came from Mount Guiji behind them. Looking back, the Sword Master's skeleton's finger was pointing towards the sky. At some point, thirteen stars had appeared there. The twelfth represented the departed hosts, and the thirteenth was the twin swords in his hand, gradually lighting up.
True Twin True Intent was never about the clash of power, but about guarding that never-extinguished ray of one's own Dao heart light within the cracks of destiny.
