Personality

Aili is outspoken and quick to challenge unfair workloads. When Yushu repeatedly extends his trips, she demands explanations, threatens to quit or strike, and negotiates additional compensation. His first month-long absence ends with her receiving a 10,000 Alliance Currency bonus and three days of paid leave; after the staged Ursaring encounter, she secures double salary for that month 54 55 63 99.

Her complaints coexist with dependable work and genuine respect for Yushu’s ability. She and Shuren keep the ranch in excellent condition during his absences, and she privately admits that he is impressive when serious. When she believes he has failed his Breeder examination, she comforts him rather than mocking him 55 64 94.

Cute Pokémon readily overcome her caution. Her desire to cuddle Ralts leads her to challenge Yushu despite their enormous strength difference. She is similarly captivated by Sylveon’s appearance and by Mew disguised as an Eevee 39 40 97 165.

Background / History

Joining Freewill Ranch

Aili approaches Freewill Ranch after Kaixin recommends its vacancy. She initially announces herself as a Breeder, then admits that she has not yet passed the examination. She wants practical experience because the exam’s on-the-spot medicine mixing and Pokéblock production are more difficult for her than its theoretical material. Yushu hires her to prepare Pokémon food 36 37.

On her first working day, she is impressed by the precise proportions in Yushu’s homemade feed formula. His individually customized recipes later make her question how much she can learn from the standard formulas in her textbooks 38 42.

Keeping the Ranch Running

When Yushu’s planned week away becomes a month on Iron Island, Aili sends increasingly angry messages demanding his return. Nevertheless, he finds the Pokémon well fed and the ranch in excellent order. The main shortage is Pokéblocks: although Aili has learned his recipe, her batches have inconsistent quality and a much lower success rate than his 54 55.

Yushu’s subsequent departure for the Breeder examination prompts another dispute over feeding, ranch maintenance, and nighttime bookkeeping. He secures her help with double pay and a monthly bonus, then asks her to continue practicing Pokéblock production. On his return, she and Shuren briefly believe his pretended examination failure before he reveals his certificate 63 94.

Sylveon’s Evolution

Aili has raised Eevee since she was little and has delayed choosing between Espeon and Umbreon. Both she and Eevee immediately favor Sylveon after Yushu shows them a drawing of the unfamiliar evolution. She agrees to pursue it, relying on their close bond and Kirlia’s instruction in Charm 97.

Learning Charm and battling Kirlia do not complete the evolution. Without telling Aili, Yushu arranges for Ursaring to confront her while she gathers Persim Berries. Eevee evolves into Sylveon when Ursaring lunges toward her. After discovering the deception, Aili agrees to let the incident pass only if Yushu doubles her salary for the month. The evolution becomes the subject of his research paper 98 99.

Promotion to Ranch Manager

During Yushu’s extended travels, Aili handles incoming Pokémon as well as existing ranch work. Receiving twenty-five Heracross, followed by further arrivals, sharply increases her food-preparation burden. Yushu persuades her to continue by explaining the newcomers’ agricultural uses and promising a recipe for Spinarak’s diet 131 136 137.

After nearly two and a half months away, Yushu returns to a tidier ranch with steady milk production and regular product orders. Further expansion plans provoke another protest, leading him to promise more staff and formally appoint Aili ranch manager. New employees—and Shuren—are placed under her supervision 165 166.

Aili subsequently brings her fifteen-year-old cousin Yicheng to apply for work. Yushu hires him on a three-month probation under her supervision, and she immediately begins teaching him food preparation. His help frees her to receive visitors and handle business conversations more comfortably 172 173 174 175.
