Shin'yu trained Nagato in his Rinnegan and Yin Yang Release while their travels brought Nagato back to Rain Country and into contact with Yahiko, Konan, and Jiraiya. As Shin'yu sent Nagato to aid Hiruko in the Land of Wind, Hiruko recruited Sasori, and Naruto arrived in Loulan through the Dragon Vein.

• Shin'yu defeated Nagato in a spar, then taught him about his newly awakened Yin Yang Release and sent him to subdue powerful Shinobi Beasts.
• Nagato subdued the Hellhound King and other beasts, while Shin'yu helped him capture the remaining Hellhounds and explained how Nagato could combine their souls and bodies.
• Shin'yu trained with Nagato, mastered the Deva Path's effects on him, and learned to fly by manipulating magnetic fields.
• Nagato returned to Rain Country with Shin'yu, subdued a giant panda, and agreed to help Yahiko and Konan protect Qingmao Mountain's villagers.
• Nagato defeated the pandas and met Jiraiya, who recognized him as an Uzumaki and urged him to fulfill the prophecy, but Shin'yu intervened and took Nagato away.
• Shin'yu sent Nagato to assist Orochimaru and Hiruko in the Land of Wind, where Hiruko confronted Sasori and offered to reveal the Third Kazekage's location.
• Nagato arrived at Hiruko's cave, used the King of Hell to verify Sasori's story, and agreed with Hiruko to share information about the Third Kazekage.
• Naruto entered a spatial vortex after Mukade released the Dragon Vein, woke in a Loulan dungeon, and escaped through the ceiling.

Naruto and Minato’s allies fought Mukade and his conspirators over Loulan’s Dragon Vein, while the White Mask revealed himself as Uchiha Cheng. Cheng overpowered the group and turned the slain Pakura into a black-armored figure.

• Naruto learned that the Dragon Vein had scattered him across Loulan, where he met Minato and discovered that he had traveled into the past.
• Minato and his allies joined Sara and Pakura’s forces, and Sara led them to the underground factory, sealed its transmission array, and revealed that Loulan’s citizens were imprisoned there.
• Mukade attacked the group, but Pakura and the Third Kazekage revealed their alliance with him before Sasori, Hiruko, and Nagato entered the battle.
• Hiruko and Nagato fought Pakura and the Third Kazekage while Naruto and Minato attacked Mukade, and Sasori killed the Third Kazekage before Hiruko healed him.
• Nagato used Planetary Devastation on Mukade, but Cheng appeared, severed Mukade’s link to the Dragon Vein, and fought off Naruto, Minato, Nagato, Hiruko, and Sasori.
• Cheng unleashed Wood Release and a vast forest, while Nagato destroyed it with Planetary Devastation before Cheng shattered the technique and resumed fighting Hiruko.
• Nagato and Hiruko saw Cheng’s face after Nagato cut his mask, and Cheng revealed his resemblance to their master’s wife before seizing Nagato’s Guardian God Sword.
• Cheng trapped Hiruko, cut down the overpass near Pakura and the Third Kazekage, then killed Pakura and raised her corpse as a black-armored figure with glowing purple eyes.

Uchiha Cheng fought Naruto and Nagato over the Dragon Vein before revealing his ties to Shin'yu and returning to the future. Shin'yu stabilized the Dragon Vein, then began taking the Tailed Beasts from the Five Great Shinobi Villages and faced Ōnoki with his Time Reversal ability restored.

• Naruto fought Cheng across Loulan, but Shin'yu emerged from Frost Descent One Heart and revealed that Cheng was his descendant and called him Father.
• Cheng explained his plan to use Mukade and the Dragon Vein to return to his future, then killed Mukade and froze the world with Bishamon-ten before leaving Sara and disappearing.
• Shin'yu stabilized the Dragon Vein with Infinite Sealing: Suppression, while Minato and the others debated whether to erase their future memories.
• Shin'yu took Han from the Hidden Stone, defeated him, removed most of the Five-Tails' Chakra, and sealed Kokuo.
• Shin'yu confronted Ōnoki and revealed that he had reclaimed the Four-Tails and Five-Tails, then challenged Ōnoki to attack him with Particle Style.
• Ōnoki vaporized Shin'yu inside a vast Particle Style barrier, but Shin'yu appeared unharmed as Time Reversal enveloped him and light returned to his left eye.

Shin'yu survived Ōnoki’s Dust Release and developed defenses and attacks of his own, while Nagato, Sasori, and Hiruko escaped Hidden Sand with Shukaku. Uchiha Kagami awakened from his long sealing, fought his way out of Lohak and Kenlun’s temple, then fled Konoha and headed for Shin'yu before Orochimaru and Uchiha Nen intercepted him.

• Shin'yu endured Ōnoki’s Particle Style until he adapted to it, developed the Adamantine Force Field, and demonstrated his own Dust Release before sparing Ōnoki.
• Nagato, Sasori, and Hiruko escaped Hidden Sand with the unconscious Bunpuku and Shukaku, while Sasori revealed that he had killed the Third Kazekage and renounced the village.
• Lohak gave Shinnō a Grell Stone for his Zero Tail project, then he and Kaguya Kenlun witnessed Uchiha Kagami awaken from his sealing.
• Kagami fought Lohak and Kenlun with Susanoo and Wood Release, but Isshiki’s dormant consciousness seized control through Kenlun’s Karma, forcing Kagami to escape with Flying Thunder God.
• Orochimaru and Nian discussed their changed ties to the Hidden Leaf, while Kagami arrived in Konoha and fought off the Anbu and Uchiha guards.
• Kagami defeated Hiruzen without killing him, placed him under Genjutsu, and left Konoha to seek answers from Shin'yu.
• Orochimaru trapped Kagami in the Four Black Snake Formation and attacked him in Sage Mode, but Kagami fought back until Uchiha Nen arrived in Susanoo and vowed to stop him.
