Shin'yu defeated Isshiki long enough for Kagami to regain control, then learned the truth of their shared past and chose to help Kagami contain the Otsutsuki. As the Third Shinobi World War began, Shin'yu’s group pursued their research and missions while Sakumo fought Kumogakure’s Guardian Shinobi.

• Kagami fought Nian and Orochimaru until Isshiki took over, but Shin'yu arrived and began battling him.
• Shin'yu wounded Isshiki with Bochi’s sword and the Eight Inner Gates, then learned that Kagami remained alive inside the vessel and struck him when he resurfaced.
• Shin'yu tested Kagami’s control, reversed time to restore himself, and returned with Kagami, Nian, and Orochimaru to Konoha to discuss Isshiki and the Otsutsuki.
• Shin'yu urged Kagami to suppress and merge with Isshiki rather than kill or seal him, while Nen revealed that Kagami was his father and warned he would kill him if Isshiki took over.
• Rasa attacked Amegakure after Hanzo rejected his alliance proposal, prompting Konoha to declare war on Sunagakure as other villages moved against Amegakure.
• Obito failed the genin assessment but found resolve in Might Duy’s example, while Kagami’s allies marked him with a Flying Thunder God technique and continued their research and plans.
• Sakumo protected the dying Narumi and fought the Twelve Guardian Shinobi, killing Kiruen after surviving their coordinated attacks.

Sakumo’s refusal to sacrifice his comrades led to his public disgrace and suicide, while Kakashi and Obito confronted the Uchiha over his legacy. As the Third Shinobi World War spread, Kirigakure prepared to attack and Kenron began massacring the surviving Kaguya clansmen.

• Hatake Sakumo killed Kiruen and Sakai, but later Danzō accused him of abandoning his mission, and Hiruzen released him from custody.
• Sakumo reunited Narumi with his family, while Shin'yu weighed whether to kill Isshiki and chose to seek a way to suppress him through Kagami Uchiha.
• Kakashi defeated Uchiha Yashiro, and Obito and Shisui stood with Kakashi against the Konoha Guard before Shisui urged Obito and Kakashi to look beyond Konoha’s leadership.
• Tsunade challenged Konoha’s officials over their treatment of Sakumo, but rumors and public harassment continued, and Sakumo died by suicide as the Third Shinobi World War began.
• Hiruzen confronted Danzō over Sakumo’s death, while Kakashi mourned his father and asked Orochimaru whether Sakumo had said anything before he died.
• Yagura and Hanzo prepared Kirigakure to enter the war, while Hiruko and Nagato infiltrated the village and Scorpion considered how to develop his abilities.
• Kenron and Lohak reached Kirigakure, where Kenron killed Kaguya Seiya and attacked the Zhan Tie Merchant Guild’s refuge.
• Yagura intercepted Kenron near the refuge and challenged him to fight as Anbu surrounded them.

Kaguya Kenron and Hiruko fought over White Wolf as Lohak rescued the injured Kenron and warned Kara against confronting Uchiha Shin'yu directly. While the shinobi war spread and Minato restored Konoha’s foothold, Lohak gathered Kara’s forces for a supposed attack on the Uzumaki Clan that secretly served as a diversion to rescue Kagami Uchiha.

• Kaguya Kenron devastated the Zhan Tie Merchant Guild, but Yagura and White Wolf used water and ice techniques to contain him while Hiruko intervened to save White Wolf.
• Hiruko opened the Eight Inner Gates to battle Kenron, and White Wolf sacrificed himself with a freezing technique that trapped Kenron in an iceberg.
• Lohak shattered the iceberg, escaped with Kenron, and later warned him that Shin'yu and his forces were too dangerous to confront directly.
• Tsunade led Konoha’s retreat during the spreading war, while Uchiha Hikari and Uchiha Nen helped her escape Sumashi’s trap.
• Minato killed Mahiru and his Decapitation Squad with the Flying Thunder God Technique, then led Konoha’s forces back into the Land of Rain.
• Shin'yu learned that Kara’s forces had gathered near the Land of Whirlpools and recognized that Kara was preparing to act.
• Lohak assembled 4,091 Kara members and claimed they needed the Uzumaki Clan’s sealing techniques, while privately revealing that the attack was a diversion to rescue Kagami Uchiha.
