Qin Tiexin buried his master and struggled to preserve the family smithy against the Heavenly Craft Workshop's pressure, until a mysterious ring helped him restore Li Zhenwei's saber. He prepared to join the army with his newly forged saber Edgeless, while Zhao Xuan readied a poisoned needle to stop his departure.
Qin Tiexin joined the Craftsmen's Camp, proved himself as a smith, and was selected for Li Zhenwei's secret unit. After surviving brutal training and his first battlefield deaths, he helped defeat a Northern Di Night Scout force, while Zhou Cang lost his leg and Helian Zheng vowed revenge.
Qin Tiexin helped defeat the Northern Di invasion, captured Yelü Hongshan, and left the army to bring his fallen comrades home. After reopening his forge and discovering Lin Feng’s request, he crossed into the cultivation lands and earned his first spirit crystals repairing a sword.
Qin Tiexin joined the Flowing Cloud Sect as a body-refining disciple, advanced his cultivation and artifact skills, and placed joint sixth in the minor competition’s combat assessment. He then turned to artifact refining and intensified his training ahead of the assessment in three months.
Qin Tiexin rebuilt his cultivation with the Primordial Unity Instruction, learned true artifact refining from Old Wu, and escorted a caravan with Li Yun through repeated traps and attacks. After visiting Fallen Star Pavilion and investigating routes and sect histories, he reached Qi Refining Fourth Layer on the return journey and awakened Divine Sense.
Qin Tiexin won both crowns at the outer sect grand competition and became True Person Luo Ling’s disciple. As he recovered and studied artifact refining, Old Wu revealed why he had left Luo Ling, leaving Qin Tiexin to decide not to interfere with their past for now.
Qin Tiexin reforged Edgeless, strengthened his cultivation and combat skills, and joined Chen Xi on a dangerous wolf-hunting mission. After receiving a Primordial Unity Token and preparing with his sect’s help, he entered the ruins alone and began crossing the forest trial.
Qin Tiexin survived the five-domain trials, uncovered the Primordial Unity ruins’ inheritance, and killed Cao Mu after the rogue cultivator poisoned the survivors. Back at Flowing Cloud Sect, Qin Tiexin began training to improve his combat skills and searched for a ranged weapon to suit him.
Qin Tiexin advanced his cultivation and artifact refining, then killed a wounded Blood Devil during a mission near Maple Creek Village. The Flowing Cloud Sect sent him and Nangong Yao north to Wind and Snow Pass, where the expedition arrived after five days aboard the Cloud Shuttle Boat.
Qin Tiexin served as an artifact refiner at Wind and Snow Pass, strengthened his cultivation, and began hunting the Devil Race with Nangong Yao and Li Yun. After Li Yun discovered Su Qiao’s sealed cavern and began refining Profound Ice Crystal Marrow Liquid, Qin Tiexin guarded her outside against creatures drawn by its fragrance.
Qin Tiexin held off the Devil Race while Li Yun completed her breakthrough, then prepared for the Body Refining Master Conference and teamed with Duan Xuan for its Devil Race hunt. Meanwhile, Liu Qing infiltrated the fortress as Sheng Xiao'er's attendant, where a pact with True Person Xueying set an assault on Wind and Snow Pass in motion.
Qin Tiexin and Duan Xuan explored the Iron Spine Sect Ruins, uncovered the sect’s destruction, and laid its 578 dead to rest. Their search ended with a rune-covered arm pursuing them, possibly the Ancient Witch Arm Ye Cang had sought.
Qin Tiexin and Duan Xuan fled the collapsing Iron Spine Sect ruins only to be captured by True Person Xueying and trapped in his blood pool. Qin Tiexin survived the refining array through the mysterious arm’s power and fought Xueying until Chen Xi and Luo Ling arrived, leaving him barely alive.
Qin Tiexin survived True Person Xueying’s cavern with a severed arm, helped expose controlled cultivators at Wind and Snow Pass, and broke through to the Qi and Blood Realm during its defense. After learning his arm required treatment elsewhere, he traveled with Chen Xi to the Divine Sword Sect and prepared to teleport to the Heavenly South Domain.
Qin Tiexin traveled with Chen Xi to the Myriad Stars Dynasty, searched for treatment for his injured arm, and found Lin Feng’s family while continuing his martial training. After settling among the Lin Household, he sparred with Lin Chuan and learned that Xiao Yan was pressing Lin Boyuan to end her engagement to Lin Feng in exchange for valuable gifts.
Qin Tiexin prepared for the Star Selection while trying to reach the imperial palace and find Chen Xi’s missing medical cultivator. After Ming'an brought news of Zhaoming Temple’s destruction, Qin Tiexin sheltered him and faced the prospect of Golden Summit Temple pursuing them, then left to take the written exam.
Qin Tiexin survived the Temperament Trial, broke through to Foundation Establishment, and joined Lin Chuan’s team for the Secret Realm Trial. After training his techniques and shopping at the Imperial Market, he arrived at a meeting with their prospective teammates.
Qin Tiexin strengthened his body by absorbing the Red Luan Heart Flame, then entered the Secret Realm Trial with Lin Chuan, Du Heng, Liu Suifeng, and Xu Ying. After the team discovered a Buddhist temple and medicinal garden, they fought and killed a Blood-Eyed Devil Ape, leaving Qin Tiexin interested in using its flesh and blood for cultivation.
Qin Tiexin’s group crossed the spirit-barren gorge, where he fought off Golden Summit Temple monks who sought revenge for Zhaoming Temple. After the group reached a sealed inheritance cave, Lin Chuan entered with Lin Wei and the others while Qin Tiexin stayed outside in hiding.
Qin Tiexin explored a Spirit Pivot Sect treasury with Liu Suifeng and Ling Shuyao, then followed the severed arm’s pull into the dangerous forest alone. Lin Chuan and the others turned back to find him as Qin Tiexin made his way toward Pure Land Chan Temple.
