Although Wei Yi had hardly attended any classes, he still knew where his class's training room was.
Arriving outside the training room, he saw Qian Tonghe instructing the students in martial techniques. Wei Yi had no patience to wait around for him, so he strode straight up and banged on the door.
Everyone in the training room was startled. They all stopped and looked toward the door.
The female student nearest the door ran over to open it. When she saw Wei Yi, her mouth fell open.
Wei Yi stood on no ceremony and swaggered straight into the training room.
Every gaze instantly converged on him. There was surprise, contempt, irritation, sympathy... all manner of expressions.
Qian Tonghe, however, could not help frowning slightly.
"Wei Yi, what are you doing here?"
"Didn't Lu Xing inform you? You've been expelled from the academy. From now on, you're no longer a student of the True Martial Academy. You can pack your things and leave!"
"Han Xiaojia, close the door. Don't let any more irrelevant people in."
The female student named Han Xiaojia stood at the doorway, looking from Qian Tonghe to Wei Yi, unsure what to do.
"Wei Yi, why haven't you left? Do I have to throw you out myself?"
Qian Tonghe's expression darkened as he barked at Wei Yi.
Wei Yi merely gave a disdainful chuckle.
Rather than turn to leave, he walked right up to Qian Tonghe and asked coldly,
"I'll ask you just one question. Is the academy expelling me, or is it you, Qian Tonghe, who wants to expel me?"
At those words, Qian Tonghe's expression involuntarily shifted.
The expressions of the students in the training room changed as well.
The two answers clearly meant different things. One was an official academy decision, while the other was Qian Tonghe's personal decision. How could they possibly be the same?
But Qian Tonghe was no ordinary man, being an instructor at the True Martial Academy. He quickly thought of an answer and immediately replied,
"It's both the academy's decision and my personal wish."
"Everyone knows that a cripple with severed meridians like you can't cultivate. The academy intended to expel you last year, but out of consideration for your father, we had no choice but to let you stay another year."
"But what good did that extra year do? Trash is always trash. Keeping someone like you around only lowers the class average."
"It's because you drag us down every time that Class Eight has never placed in the top three in the assessments. Otherwise, the rewards from each assessment alone would have earned everyone considerably more."
Qian Tonghe's words immediately drew a chorus of agreement.
They did not care what happened to Wei Yi, but lowering their class average and reducing their rewards caused real harm to their interests.
Soon, under Qian Tonghe's lead, some of them began shouting.
"Wei Yi, you piece of trash, you still have the nerve to come here? You've dragged us down for two years. You should have gotten lost long ago."
"Exactly. People should know their own limits. You can't cultivate, so you're trash. Leaving the academy voluntarily is your best choice."
"One rat dropping spoils the whole pot of porridge."
"Instructor Qian was clearly doing you a favor. He had Lu Xing inform you privately to spare your dignity, yet you won't even appreciate it. You're like a dog biting Lü Dongbin, unable to recognize a kind heart."
Everyone chimed in.
Wei Yi's expression remained unchanged.
Lu Xing and Zhu Ling'er, who had followed him there, could not help wanting to speak up against the injustice, but Wei Yi stopped them.
Wei Yi took two steps forward, looked at the clamoring students, and sneered,
"Since I'm trash, why don't you come up and give me some pointers? Let me experience the strength of elites like you."
"All that talk is useless. In the end, strength has to do the talking."
"Whether I'm trash isn't for garbage like you to decide."
"Yes, that's right. You heard me correctly. I mean you lot-a bunch of garbage! Qian Tonghe is garbage, and the students he's trained are all garbage too!"
Without the slightest restraint, Wei Yi directly taunted the entire group.
At that, all of Class Eight erupted. A piece of trash had called them garbage, pointing right in their faces as he insulted them. How could they endure that?
Not one of them could swallow that insult!
A tall male student immediately charged out first.
"Wei Yi, you asked for this. Don't blame me... Bam!"
Before he could finish, Wei Yi knocked him senseless with a single punch.
"You talk too much!"
"Who else?"
Wei Yi looked at the others again.
"This brat's too arrogant. We have to teach him a lesson!"
"Exactly. He can't cultivate. At most, he's haphazardly picked up a few martial techniques."
"We have to teach him a harsh lesson before he leaves. How dare he call us garbage!"
Soon, another five or six students scrambled to charge forward.
Their impression of Wei Yi as trash was too deeply ingrained. They did not take him seriously at all.
Wei Yi naturally showed no restraint either. In no time, he knocked all five or six of them unconscious, one punch apiece.
As the system notifications kept sounding and his cultivation experience increased considerably, Wei Yi could not help laughing instead. "Who else wants to come up?"
This time, no one foolishly charged forward again.
They were not actually idiots.
If they had failed to see it the first time and the second, could they still fail to see it the third?
Clearly, for some unknown reason, Wei Yi had changed.
Not only did the remaining students stop charging forward, they all retreated several steps in unison. They looked at one another, none willing to be the bird that stuck its head out.
"Zhang Tianchen, weren't you shouting fiercely just now? Don't you want to come up and give me some pointers?"
Wei Yi stared at Zhang Tianchen as he asked.
Zhang Tianchen opened his mouth. As Class Eight's class monitor, he considered himself the strongest in the class, and his pride urged him to charge forward immediately. But thinking of those whom Wei Yi had knocked flat with one punch, he restrained his impulse. With a solemn expression, he shook his head and said, "We've been classmates in the same year, after all. I can't bear to attack you!"
At those words, not only Wei Yi but everyone else rolled their eyes.
If he didn't dare fight, then he didn't dare fight. Why make such a lame excuse?
"Wang Han, will you come up?"
"Zhao Xuejian?"
"Chen Lufan, how about you?"
Wei Yi called out the most talented and strongest students in the class one by one. Apart from Zhao Xuejian, who could not hold back and came forward only to be sent flying by a single punch from Wei Yi, everyone shook their heads, not daring to step forward.
Wei Yi had challenged all hundred-plus students of Class Eight alone.
The result was a complete victory!
He stood before them, yet not one of them dared step forward.
Watching from behind him, Zhu Ling'er and Yang Qingqing felt their blood surge. Had they not been mindful of the setting and their own status, they would have applauded and cheered.
Only then did Wei Yi turn to Qian Tonghe, whose face had grown utterly dark.
"Now, Instructor Qian, do you still think I'm trash?"
"Do you still have the nerve to say my strength drags the class down?"
"Wei Yi, don't get too arrogant. This is the True Martial Academy, not your Wei Clan!"
Qian Tonghe spoke coldly through gritted teeth.
After Wei Yi had slapped him in the face before everyone like this, his irritation and fury had reached their limit.
"I know this isn't the Wei Clan. If it were, do you think someone like you could still be standing here unscathed?"
"How about this, Instructor Qian? Why don't you give me some pointers?"
Wei Yi gave a derisive laugh, then made his request outright.
At those words, the entire training room instantly fell completely silent. Everyone present widened their eyes, their faces filled with disbelief.
Wei Yi actually wanted to challenge Instructor Qian?
