He turned to the elderly Namekian who had led him there earlier.
"I'd like to find somewhere to live and train. Could you help me find a suitable place?" Wumu asked the elderly Namekian.
The elderly Namekian considered it for a moment. "There's a place that's very suitable for training. Follow me."
He led Wumu through stretches of green woodland to a secluded valley.
There was a small hill in the valley, with a cave on its slope and an open stretch of level ground in front of it, ideal for training.
"This will be your training ground," the elderly Namekian said.
Wumu looked around. The surroundings were peaceful, and the air was rich with natural ki, making it an excellent place to train.
"Thank you very much." Wumu expressed his gratitude to the elderly Namekian.
Once the elderly Namekian had left, Wumu went into the cave to rest, then felt out the strength he had gained from having his potential unlocked.
My power level should be around fifteen thousand now. Breaking through to Transformation Force at this point would cost more than it's worth. After all, even a breakthrough that quadrupled my power would only bring it to seventy thousand.
And Turles's power level should only be a few thousand right now, so I don't need to worry about being unable to snatch the fruit from him.
Still, judging by the movie's timeline, Son Goku fought him before going to Planet Namek. But that isn't reliable-after all, the movie isn't part of the main story, Wumu thought.
Wumu planned to first grow accustomed to his surging strength on Planet Namek, then continue training and begin practicing Tai Chi along the way, preparing for a later breakthrough to Transformation Force.
Then he would wish on the Dragon Balls for a spaceship and Turles's location, find him, and seize his Tree of Might seed.
Starting the next day, Wumu began his life of training.
Every morning, Wumu practiced National Martial Arts on the level ground in the valley, using Bajiquan moves, every form and strike brimming with strength and beauty.
As the sun rose, Wumu's figure looked especially resolute in the sunlight.
In the afternoons, Wumu would sit on the level ground before the cave and meditate with his eyes closed, sensing the flow of energy within his body and trying to comprehend the mysteries of Tai Chi.
Everything around him seemed to stand still, leaving only Wumu's energy flowing slowly.
Tai Chi had a training step called Concentrating the Mind on the Dantian. Concentrating the Mind was both an important method and an important process.
In ancient times, Concentrating the Mind had been called regulating the mind, focusing the spirit, preserving the spirit, and so on. It was believed that "nurturing ki lies in preserving the spirit," which directly affected the results of training.
At dusk, Wumu stood on the hilltop and gazed at the distant horizon, his heart full of anticipation for his future in martial arts.
Afterward, he would begin practicing Tai Chi. Its movements were slow and flowing, and each seemed to contain the laws of nature.
When night fell, Wumu would return to the cave.
Day after day passed like this, and Wumu's strength continued to increase.
He felt himself drawing ever closer to a breakthrough in Tai Chi, and his heart filled with anticipation.
One day, while meditating, Wumu suddenly felt a powerful surge of energy. His inner world filled with light, as though he had glimpsed an entirely new path of cultivation.
He opened his eyes, a bright light gleaming within them.
"I've reached minor accomplishment in Tai Chi."
From that day onward, Wumu's training entered an entirely new stage. He began to place greater emphasis on cultivating his inner self, and every practice session was filled with insights into the laws of nature.
Afterward, he would perform a series of physical exercises to strengthen his body. In Planet Namek's unique environment, Wumu discovered that his physical fitness had improved greatly without him realizing it.
As he trained, Wumu gradually felt that his strength had undergone a qualitative leap. He realized that training alone was no longer enough to fully master this surging power; he needed an opponent in actual combat to help him better understand and control it.
So he decided to seek out Planet Namek's Grand Elder and ask for Nail to become his sparring partner.
Wumu arrived at the Grand Elder's residence and said, "Grand Elder, I've felt a surge in strength during my training, but I've found that training alone isn't enough to fully master it. I'd like a sparring partner to help me understand and control this power. I'd like to ask your guard, Nail, for help."
The Grand Elder pondered for a while before finally nodding in agreement.
"Nail is indeed one of the few warrior-type Namekians on our Planet Namek with a power level above ten thousand. Both his experience and his strength are well suited to your needs.
"I'll have Nail come find you. I hope you can spur each other on and improve together."
Wumu thanked the Grand Elder, then met with Nail.
Nail was a tall Namekian with a powerful aura, very similar to the second-generation King Piccolo.
Starting the next day, Nail and Wumu began sparring daily.
During their first sparring match, Wumu went all out, trying to overwhelm Nail with the strength he had mastered, but he soon discovered that Nail's combat skills and experience far surpassed his own.
Not only could Nail easily neutralize Wumu's attacks, but he could also find openings in Wumu's defenses as he counterattacked, putting Wumu under considerable pressure.
After the fight, Nail told Wumu, "You're strong, but you still have plenty of room to improve your control and technique.
"A surge in strength doesn't mean you can neglect honing your skills.
"Over the coming days, I'll help you improve in those areas."
Wumu humbly accepted Nail's advice. In the days that followed, their sparring was no longer limited to contests of strength, focusing more on improving technique and combat awareness.
Wumu began learning how to better control his strength, how to seek out an opponent's weaknesses in battle, and how to remain calm in a crisis.
As time passed, Wumu's control over his strength became increasingly precise, and his performance in combat grew increasingly impressive.
Nail could also feel Wumu's progress. He told him, "You've mastered how to use your strength. What you need now is more combat experience, to make your fighting more varied and adaptable."
Wumu understood the deeper meaning in Nail's words. He knew that although his strength had undergone a qualitative leap, he had little advantage against opponents at his own level, and still needed to keep accumulating and learning combat wisdom and experience.
After every sparring match, Nail would analyze Wumu's performance in detail, point out his shortcomings, and offer suggestions for improvement.
Wumu would also ask Nail about anything that puzzled him in combat, and their relationship gradually shifted from mere sparring partners to comrades-in-arms who respected each other.
Over the following period, both Wumu's ability to control his strength and his combat experience improved significantly.
Not only could he wield his strength more freely, but he could also adopt the most effective strategies in battle according to the opponent he faced.
Once, while sparring with Nail, Wumu successfully used his precise control over his strength to find an opening in Nail's defenses and win the fight.
Nail praised Wumu's progress. "Wumu, you've done very well. Making this much progress in such a short time is proof of your potential and hard work."
He expressed his deep gratitude to Nail. "Nail, thank you for sparring with me all this time. You've helped me improve a great deal."
