On the tournament stage, Son Goku and Jackie Chun stood facing each other, their eyes blazing and their fighting spirits high.
Son Goku wore his signature orange martial arts uniform, looking full of energy, as though every strand of his hair were bouncing.
Jackie Chun wore a simple gray martial arts uniform and a grayish-white wig. Though his attire was plain, his sharp eyes revealed his true strength.
The match took place on the stage of the World Martial Arts Tournament, surrounded by thousands upon thousands of spectators.
The spectators wore all sorts of expressions. Some clenched their fists in nervousness, some were so excited they almost jumped up, and others looked eager, longing to witness this spectacular showdown.
Tension and excitement filled the air as everyone held their breath, waiting for the match to begin.
Bulma, Oolong, Puar, and the others gathered together. Their expressions differed, but they all looked very nervous and eager. Bulma clenched her fists and stared unblinkingly at the stage, seemingly cheering Son Goku on in silence.
Oolong and Puar looked nervous, occasionally exchanging worried glances; this match would decide who advanced to the finals.
At the referee's command, the match officially began.
Son Goku displayed his astonishing skill and agility, every punch sending wind whistling through the air.
Jackie Chun, meanwhile, constantly tested Son Goku with his wealth of experience and tactics. Every block and counterattack was steady and precise. Each attack from either fighter drew gasps and applause from the audience.
As the match progressed, Bulma and the others grew increasingly tense, cheering one moment and sighing the next, completely engrossed in the thrilling match.
As the match went on, the clash between Son Goku and Jackie Chun grew more intense.
Every attack on the stage was accompanied by gasps from the audience.
Every leap Son Goku made seemed to defy gravity. His lightning-fast movements were dazzling.
Jackie Chun, meanwhile, was like an immovable mountain. Every defense was utterly solid, and every counterattack was filled with strength and wisdom.
During one exchange, Son Goku launched a fierce attack on Jackie Chun with lightning speed.
The wind from his punches stirred up clouds of dust, as though the entire stage were trembling beneath his assault.
Yet at that moment, Jackie Chun displayed his unfathomable prowess. He pressed his palms together, and his surging ki formed an invisible force field that completely neutralized Son Goku's attack.
The sight opened the spectators' eyes, leaving them amazed by Jackie Chun's profound martial skill.
Bulma, Oolong, and Puar were also stunned by this astonishing scene, their nervous expressions turning to shock and admiration.
As the match continued, Son Goku and Jackie Chun each displayed their distinctive strengths.
Son Goku's speed and agility made him feel right at home on the stage, while Jackie Chun's steadiness and depth filled his every move with composure and power.
Their showdown was a contest of speed against strength, as well as a clash between youth and experience.
After one brilliant exchange, both stepped back several paces and looked at each other.
Son Goku's eyes shone with respect for a formidable opponent and excitement at the challenge.
Jackie Chun's gaze was calm and deep, as though telling Son Goku that this match was far from over.
The atmosphere in the stands reached a fever pitch. People excitedly discussed every brilliant exchange, full of praise for Son Goku's and Jackie Chun's performances.
The emotions of Bulma, Oolong, and their other friends also rose and fell with the match. They cheered for Son Goku while also expressing admiration for Jackie Chun's martial arts.
The match entered its final stage.
Both contestants on the stage were already drenched in sweat, but their eyes remained firm, displaying a martial artist's unyielding resolve and perseverance.
This match was not merely a contest of martial arts, but a clash of spirits.
Whatever the final result, Son Goku and Jackie Chun had already earned everyone's respect and applause through their performances.
"All right, I'm going to use the old man's Kamehameha Wave."
Son Goku spoke, settling into a stance and cupping his hands together like a lotus to gather ki.
Seeing this stance, Jackie Chun refused to be outdone. He adopted the same pose and murmured:
"The power of the Kamehameha I spent years painstakingly developing isn't so easily surpassed."
"That's strange. Wasn't it old Master Roshi who created the Kamehameha?"
Son Goku asked in confusion, his brow slightly furrowed, clearly puzzled by Jackie Chun's words.
"Th-that's right! That is indeed Master Roshi's signature technique."
Jackie Chun gave a sheepish laugh, a trace of embarrassment appearing on his face.
"But didn't you just say you spent years painstakingly creating it?"
"Why are you asking so many questions? You'll never make friends with that personality!"
Jackie Chun snapped, a trace of anger rising on his face, though he looked more helpless than anything.
With that, both finished gathering their ki and blasted it at each other.
"Kamehameha... Wave!"
The two shouted the technique's name almost simultaneously and thrust their hands forward. Two blue waves of light collided at the center of the stage, illuminating everyone's faces.
After a brief stalemate, the dispersing energy knocked both of them to the ground.
Dust swirled over the stage, and a scorched smell filled the air.
"How could this happen... I-it's impossible!" Jackie Chun said in disbelief, his face pale and fine beads of sweat seeping from his forehead.
Son Goku, meanwhile, grinned goofily. "Kamehameha against Kamehameha, hehe... I did it!"
His smile was full of pride and excitement, as though he had just accomplished something incredible.
I can't believe it!
"He actually managed to overpower my Kamehameha with his own." Having risen to his feet, Master Roshi looked at Son Goku and murmured, his eyes glinting with a complex mix of surprise and gratification.
The spectators marveled inwardly. After witnessing such a brilliant showdown, they burst into cheers, their thunderous applause echoing throughout the stage.
"Incredible! The legendary Kamehameha, which only Master Mutaito was said to know-besides contestant Jackie Chun, there's actually someone else who can use it!"
The announcer spoke in amazement.
Afterimage Technique!
Discovering that Son Goku's ki blast was no weaker than his own, Jackie Chun decided to change tactics and use another technique.
"What's this?"
Son Goku murmured to himself, his eyes constantly scanning the surrounding afterimages.
"The real one's location is..."
Suddenly, he threw a fierce punch behind him, but all he struck was another afterimage.
Huh?! Another afterimage.
Just then, Jackie Chun silently appeared behind Son Goku and lashed out with a kick.
"Hahaha... Double Afterimage Technique! Give up!"
Son Goku climbed off the ground and wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, a glint of determination flashing in his eyes.
"All right! I'll give it a try too."
"Damn it, always copying other people's techniques."
Jackie Chun fumed at the sight of Son Goku's afterimages.
"This must be a double afterimage."
He then quickly turned and attacked the afterimage to his side, only to hit empty air.
What?
In the instant Jackie Chun froze, Son Goku came crashing down on him from above.
"It's a triple afterimage! Pretty convincing, right?"
Jackie Chun stood up, clutching his head, and spoke through gritted teeth.
"You little brat! How dare you hit your master's head, you unfilial disciple!"
He had never found Son Goku so annoying.
Son Goku spoke with an innocent expression.
"Why would you be my master, old man? My master's old Master Roshi!"
"That's right. I misspoke... Ahahaha."
Jackie Chun immediately blushed and laughed sheepishly.
"You're really weird, old man."
Son Goku pursed his lips.
Jackie Chun's expression darkened, and he roared.
"Sh-shut up! Since it's come to this, take this!"
As he spoke, he swayed with a flushed face, as though drunk.
"Contestant Jackie Chun looks drunk! Could the alcohol he drank yesterday only be kicking in today?"
The announcer said in surprise.
While Son Goku was still puzzling over it, Jackie Chun had already closed in and seized the chance to attack. Before Son Goku could react, he took several hits without landing any in return.
"What are you doing?!"
Son Goku demanded.
Jackie Chun still looked thoroughly drunk and offered no explanation.
Yamcha explained from the sidelines.
"That's Drunken Fist, where you pretend to be drunk while attacking! Be careful, Goku!"
"Huh? The same fighting style my late grandpa used when he was alive. What a headache!"
Son Goku scratched the back of his head and murmured.
"Ook, ook, ook!"
Suddenly, Son Goku let out a series of strange cries, then dropped to all fours and crawled toward Jackie Chun.
Caught by this sudden attack, Jackie Chun was driven back again and again.
"Like a wild monkey. What kind of bizarre fighting style is this?"
"Hehehe... This is Monkey Fist."
The situation on the stage instantly reversed. Son Goku began to overpower Jackie Chun, forcing him to use everything he had to defend himself.
Below the stage, Bulma and their other friends were now too happy for words, while Yamcha watched Jackie Chun with glee at his misfortune.
Having watched this far, Wumu knew Master Roshi still had one signature technique he had yet to use.
Sure enough, speak of the devil...
