System gift pack
Shang-Chi was already dead drunk, staggering and barely able to stand, his hands resting limply on the twin sisters' shoulders as his whole body swayed.
Seeing this, Li Qi nodded slightly, signaling for the twins to help Shang-Chi into another room to rest. He knew Shang-Chi was feeling low and hoped this would help him relax and ease his pent-up emotions.
One of the beautiful sisters wore a vivid red swimsuit, its cut perfectly outlining the curves of her graceful figure; the other wore a fresh blue one-piece that accentuated her long legs.
They exchanged a glance and worked together with unspoken understanding to support Shang-Chi. After leaving the entertainment lounge, they turned left, gently pushed open a door, and entered a cozy bedroom. They then quietly closed the door and tended to Shang-Chi inside.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the lounge, Shang-Chi's girlfriend, Katy, clearly had not noticed any of this. Or perhaps, even if she had, her drunken state and muddled thoughts left her no attention to spare for her boyfriend.
Katy stumbled toward Li Qi on unsteady feet, holding half a glass of whiskey and mumbling words too slurred to make out.
Looking at this Asian girl, whose eyes were small but whose face was round and cute, Li Qi could not help feeling a trace of aversion. He really did not want to interact with her and quickly shot Tony Stark a look.
As a loyal subordinate to his master, Tony Stark immediately understood. Smiling, he waved to Major Rhodes, with whom he had been chatting, then quickly walked over to Katy, gently steadied her, and struck up a conversation.
The moment Katy saw the famous billionaire Tony Stark, a spark lit up her eyes, and much of her interest in Li Qi instantly faded.
She affectionately held Tony's hand and leaned against his shoulder with coy petulance, then began rambling on and on.
Tony had no choice but to follow his master's wishes, deftly managing Katy while taking care to maintain an appropriate distance at all times.
After two or three minutes of conversation, he keenly sensed that Katy seemed to have other designs on him. Tony inwardly groaned and could only deploy his masterful social skills to handle her tactfully, firmly refusing to let her get her way.
Major Rhodes was talking to someone else when his gaze happened to sweep over the activity beside Li Qi, and he understood that Li Qi was deliberately avoiding Katy.
At last, when Li Qi was free, a faint smile appeared on Major Rhodes's face. Holding his glass, he approached with steady steps and once again brought up the intentions of the military he represented.
He had traveled all the way from New York to California on a military assignment: to represent the military in preventing Stark Industries from shutting down its weapons design and production departments.
Now that the two were speaking again, Major Rhodes gave a helpless smile, a trace of weariness in his eyes. He raised his glass to clink it against Li Qi's, drained his whiskey, then sighed softly and said with some resignation:
"Mr. Li Qi, I've come to trouble you again. Last time, I made your position clear to the higher-ups, but they're digging in their heels and simply won't agree. As you know, weapons produced by Stark Industries represent the very best in the industry, so those higher-ups won't give up this business under any circumstances. The military has always acted swiftly and decisively."
A confident smile appeared on Li Qi's face. He first offered Major Rhodes his sincere thanks, then said:
"Since I've decided to shut it down, I'll see it through completely. Those military higher-ups may hold great power in your eyes, but to me, they're nothing more than a bunch of ordinary people who like to interfere as they please. Rest assured, if they actually dare to make trouble for me, I certainly won't let them off lightly."
Li Qi's voice carried unwavering resolve, leaving Major Rhodes momentarily speechless. He wanted to persuade him further, but Li Qi stopped him with a wave.
Raising his voice, Li Qi smiled and addressed everyone. "Everyone, have all the fun and drinks you want tonight! Help this major from the military unwind. When we're done, each of you will receive a generous reward, so enjoy yourselves to the fullest!"
Hearing how generous Li Qi was being, the staff immediately cheered. Several of them enthusiastically gathered around Major Rhodes, surrounding him and engaging him warmly. The atmosphere was thoroughly convivial, with cheerful voices and laughter echoing throughout the lounge.
Major Rhodes was a soldier with a will as firm as steel, but even he gradually relaxed under the influence of this pleasant, easygoing atmosphere.
After a few glasses of whiskey, his face flushed, and his eyes grew somewhat hazy.
Li Qi considered it for a moment and felt it was best not to take things too far. He decided to continue treating Major Rhodes as an important bridge between himself and the military.
Next, he would have to keep observing Major Rhodes's performance. After all, as far as the plot he knew was concerned, whether Major Rhodes could successfully take on the role of War Machine in the future still required further testing.
Li Qi narrowed his eyes slightly, a thoughtful glint passing through them, and drained the half glass of whiskey in his hand. He was about to leave the entertainment lounge and rest in another bedroom.
Just then, Daisy Johnson approached from nearby with light steps. Her cheeks were flushed and her eyes slightly tipsy; clearly, she had had a few drinks and was already a little drunk.
She stood quietly beside her master, her posture straight, like a loyal bodyguard.
Major Rhodes happened to glance at this exceptionally beautiful mixed-race girl, then looked at Li Qi, his eyes full of envy.
Noticing Major Rhodes's gaze, Li Qi raised his empty glass to him from across the room, signaling that he could enjoy this moment of relaxation to the fullest.
The major understood and raised his own empty glass in return, then lowered his head slightly and began seriously considering what he had gained from this visit.
Li Qi slowly turned away, beginning to consider what he should do next as he walked.
Continuing to develop the powered armor was the next plan he had to push forward. In addition, he needed to find a way to make contact with the Ten Rings.
Just then, a familiar sound suddenly rang out in Li Qi's mind. It was actually a notification from the golden finger he had brought with him when he transmigrated.
This was also the first time since his transmigration that his golden finger had taken the initiative to send him a windfall-a starter gift pack.
In a slightly mysterious tone, the golden finger told Li Qi that it had a special gift for its host: to be specific, a woman.
