"Sorry, we can't help any more," Franklin said. Fantastic Five, Mayday and Peter were all gathered on the porch.
"No, you have done enough." Peter sighed, "To be honest, I am satisfied knowing that I will be able to go home sooner or later."
"Apologies again for not being able to provide more help." Reed's voice came from the machine without any fluctuations. After saying that, he turned around and floated back into the house.
Peter watched him leave and sighed, "Johnny, Ben, he needs help."
"He hasn't changed since Su left." Johnny said, "Frankly speaking, I think he may never get better."
"Relax, Spider-Man. As long as we are here, he will be fine." Ben.
Peter nodded. "That's right... By the way, you have to tell me someday why you lost that arm."
"Don't worry, kid." Ben laughed.
Peter turned to Franklin, stretched out his hand, and smiled, "Thanks, Frankie. Everything."
Franklin also smiled and held his hand, "You're welcome...Spider-Man."
"Boy, can you show a little more enthusiasm?" Johnny snorted, "Isn't he your favorite superhero growing up?"
"Uncle Johnny!" Franklin shouted, his face slightly red.
"What?" Peter was a little surprised.
"It's true. You have been Frankie's idol since you were a child." Lyja said with a soft smile, "He used to talk endlessly about how awesome you were."
Peter smiled and turned to Frankie: "Hehe, not bad. Do you want an autograph?"
Franklin blushed even more and turned away. "If, if you don't mind."
Peter took out a pen from Mayday's bag and signed Franklin's uniform. The other party insisted on signing the uniform.
Mayday and Peter wished them good luck, and then used Silk to swing away from there. To be honest, it was a bit embarrassing to be carried around the city by my own daughter, but there was nothing I could do about it.
Not long after, Peter's stomach started to growl.
"Hey, Mayday, do you know of a place to eat?"
"I happen to know one! Come with me!" Mayday shouted, echoing back to Queens, and landed next to a restaurant named "Jerry's".
She quickly put on her normal clothes over her uniform and said as she put them on, "My dad and I used to come here. Do you know this place?"
Peter shrugged. "I really don't know. But since you think it's good, why don't you give it a try?"
The two walked around from the back alley to the front door, walked into the restaurant, and found a seat in the corner to sit down. They ordered quickly, Mayday ordered chicken legs and salad, and Peter ordered waffles.
"Why order waffles?" Mayday asked.
"Why not?" Peter shrugged, "I think you never need a reason to eat what you like."
Mayday smiled, "Good logic, Dad."
She sighed, "Sorry, I can't help more."
"Please, it's okay."
"No, there's something wrong. When I went to your world, you found Spiral within a few hours. Now I can't even do the same thing."
Peter smiled, "Hey, don't be nervous, Mayday. I'll be fine." He held her hand, "But depending on my luck, I'll probably be stuck here for a few weeks, or even longer. So instead of sympathizing with me, you should worry about how to deal with a sixteen-year-old version of your dad."
Mayday's eyes suddenly widened.
"Yeah, you must not have thought of it before. Relax, I will try not to cause you any trouble. I can rent a motel or something, it won't be a problem."
"No." Mayday said firmly, "You live here."
"I have money, Mayday. It won't be a problem."
"It still doesn't work." Her attitude remained firm, "Just like you said, we are family. I can't let my family sleep on the street. You live with me."
"Then how are you going to explain me to your parents?" Peter raised his eyebrows.
Mayday shrugged. "Don't worry, they won't mind. After all, my dad is another version of you."
"Smart. Okay, I'll talk to your dad and see what he thinks about these things. It should be fine."
"Parker?" someone shouted.
Mayday and Peter turned their heads at the same time. "What?"
The two said in unison, and then realized what they had just done. Peter laughed, and Mayday rolled his eyes.
Mayday looked around and saw two blond friends from school.
"Hey, JJ, Brad, what are you doing here?"
The boy named JJ grinned and said, "Nothing, we happened to be nearby and wanted to find something to eat."
Peter raised his eyebrows. "Midtown High School It's twenty blocks from here."
"We just like this store." Brad stared at Peter and said, "What does it have to do with you?"
Peter smiled, "A little defensive, Xiaobu. Why, are you afraid that I will take Mayday away from you?"
Brad's face immediately turned red. "W-What?!"
"Seriously, Mayday, you can definitely find someone better than these two golden-haired idiots." Peter looked at JJ, "One cares too much about his hairstyle." Then he looked at Brad, "The other obviously doesn't dare to admit his feelings."
Mayday lowered his head and whispered embarrassedly, "Please, stop talking."
Peter smiled, "Okay, sorry. By the way, do you two want to come together? We are having lunch."
JJ and Brad looked at each other and swallowed. Brad said, "Okay, okay."
"Great!" Peter moved away. JJ sat next to him, and Brad sat next to Mayday.
Peter glanced at the three of them. "So, how long has this love triangle lasted?"
"Peter!" Mayday shouted.
"Sorry, just curious."
"Nothing happened." JJ said, "We are just friends."
"Yes." Brad nodded.
Peter rolled his eyes. "Really? Then why are you two so defensive?"
"Maybe it's because a man we've never seen before broke in and stole our friend out of nowhere?" JJ looked at Peter and then at Mayday, "You never mentioned him, Mayday."
Mayday nodded. "Yes, he is... a distant relative."
"Well, very far away." Peter said, "Also, you two really should admit that you like her. If you can't even say this, you will never make progress. Believe me, saying it will really help."
Brad growled, "What nonsense are you talking about? Do you really think you are a master of love?"
"No, not really. But I have a hunch that I will marry a super decent beauty in the future. So, pray."
Mayday groaned and buried his head. Yes, that's it, little girl, just sink in embarrassment.
The food was served. Brad and JJ took turns questioning Peter - What are you doing here? Why did you come? Where did you and Mayday go after school? Peter naturally didn't give a serious answer.
"For the last time, Golden Retriever No. 1 and Golden Retriever No. 2, you two should stop showing off your inexplicable enthusiasm for me. Seriously, stop." Peter muttered, finishing the last bite of waffles.
JJ narrowed his eyes: "Unless--"
Boom!
Mayday and Peter looked at each other immediately. The sound of the explosion was very close, very close. Peter shook his head, and Mayday glared at him.
"I have to go." Mayday said, jumping over Brad.
"Where are you going?" Brad asked.
"There's an emergency at home." She shouted and ran towards the back door.
Peter sighed, "Mayday." He paid the money, jumped over the table and chased out.
He followed Mayday into the alley, and the two climbed onto the roof of the restaurant. Mayday took off his outer clothes, revealing the uniform underneath.
"It looks like it's just a block away." Peter said, looking at the thick smoke rising from the other end of the street.
"Okay." Mayday took off his ordinary clothes, revealing a full set of equipment underneath, "I'll go over first, and you stay here. You don't have a uniform, so don't expose yourself."
"But I-" She didn't listen at all and walked out directly. Peter watched her walk around a building and disappear.
