After standing beside the Professor and watching the commotion for a while, Li Ge was starting to feel like leaving.
"Professor, it looks like our Dark Phoenix is getting along well with the X-Men. I won't get in the way of you teaching her anymore."
"I haven't really gotten to know the people at the school yet, either, so I'll head up and have a look."
Li Ge spoke his mind directly.
The Professor did not keep him any longer. After all, the problems with Cyclops and Phoenix had been resolved, and only Dark Phoenix still needed their attention.
They had pulled Li Ge over to help as soon as he arrived. They really should not trouble him with what came next.
After briefly explaining the arrangements for his meals and accommodation, the Professor let Li Ge head up on his own.
Li Ge already knew the route they had taken in, and they had given him access permissions and the like on the way.
No longer paying attention to how the Professor and the others would teach Dark Phoenix, Li Ge quickly left the underground base and began wandering around the school.
Watching the students playing around, he had no desire to join them.
He simply kept watching them use all sorts of strange abilities, as though he were watching a variety act.
The students naturally noticed Li Ge walking around, too, but many had already seen the X-Men bringing him into the school and knew he was a fellow Mutant.
So they left Li Ge alone. They simply were not familiar with him, so hardly anyone approached him of their own accord.
After watching along the way, Li Ge had not seen any powerful abilities. Almost all of them had little combat potential.
They might look interesting, but against humanity's various firearms, they offered little ability to fight back.
There were still too few powerful Mutants. Even now, only the older generation-the Professor, the X-Men, and Magneto's Brotherhood-could hold their own.
Reaching a patch of grass with hardly anyone around, Li Ge lay straight down.
Warm sunlight fell over him and was slowly absorbed into his Divinity, gradually strengthening the sugar-cube-sized piece of Redstone.
In fact, when manifesting the Redstone, Li Ge had wanted it to quickly absorb enough energy directly from the source of the universe to become its complete form, one cubic meter in size.
But he had discovered that simply absorbing energy was possible, while getting results quickly was not.
During his previous few attempts at manifesting abilities, Li Ge had already discovered a problem.
The abilities he designed seemingly could not exceed his own understanding.
The abilities he had designed before had ultimately been realized largely through the brute force of his own ability.
But whenever something involved rules, he could only realize a foundation. Afterward, he could only let it slowly perfect itself.
He had only discovered this after opening up his dimensional space.
In less than a day, the various rules within his dimension had grown increasingly natural as they continued operating, wearing away much of the contrivance he had introduced when designing them.
Li Ge felt like a newborn Heavenly Dao. Although he could be called omnipotent, he relied entirely on brute force to make things work.
He still lacked a great deal of understanding of rules, as well as knowledge.
The abilities he designed now were like seeds, like foundations, which their recipients needed to develop and strengthen themselves.
Should I seek guidance from the Ancient One at Kamar-Taj and learn some magic? After all, many powerful spells require the use of rules.
As for whether the Ancient One would act against me?
I grew up safely, and even now that I've awakened a powerful ability, she still hasn't come looking for me.
That's already ample proof that she won't do anything to me.
Besides, if someone as extraordinarily gifted as me wanted to learn magic from her, she ought to welcome me, right?
Maybe she'll put that troublemaker Doctor Strange out of her mind and pass the position of Sorcerer Supreme straight to me, someone with clearly better prospects.
But I'm in no hurry to learn magic right now. Making good use of the Information Scanning and Recording ability I designed is the most practical thing to do.
Perhaps by taking in vast amounts of knowledge, I won't need that magical knowledge anymore and can enter the Dao through knowledge directly.
After all, in this world, there aren't any clear boundaries between technology, magic, and gods.
As long as I have enough knowledge, combined with my ability, what couldn't I do?
Maybe in the future, when I give others the things I design, I should add the ability to receive information to them.
Then transmit and record the knowledge they use into my Divinity.
That way, many people will be helping me record and develop knowledge at the same time, letting the wisdom of all living beings nourish me.
At this thought, something stirred within Li Ge, and he thought of the myths and legends of his previous life.
The Three Pure Ones, Ancestors of the Dao, who spread their Daoist teachings throughout the world, seemed to have done just that.
And Tathagata Buddha, ancestor of all Buddhas, also took steps to spread Buddhist teachings eastward.
There are also so many Dimensional Demon Gods in this world spreading their power everywhere.
Looks like I should carry forward the traditional virtue of spreading power everywhere, too.
My ability is naturally suited to doing exactly that.
Speaking of which, should I also collect those Infinity Stones and study them?
As aggregates of rules that condensed when a universe first formed, if I could thoroughly understand the rules within them, I imagine my shortcomings regarding rules could be completely eliminated.
But I don't need to possess those stones outright. I only need to leave the Information Scanning and Recording ability on them and connect it to my Divinity.
What I want is knowledge of the rules within them. Whatever the stones can do, my ability can do as well. Even if I held the stones, I'd only use them as an energy source at most.
I already have Redstone that can be replicated endlessly, and it doesn't have drawbacks like becoming unusable outside the universe.
There's no real use in holding on to the Infinity Stones.
Having thought all this through, Li Ge decided to make as much contact with the Avengers as possible.
After all, as the protagonists of this world, the Infinity Stones would naturally come to them, little by little.
But there was still no news of the Avengers, and Iron Man seemed to have appeared only recently.
As for Thor and Hulk, there was not even a trace of them.
From what he had seen earlier, his friend Peter was already about the right age to receive that fated bite.
And now there were Mutants as well.
It looks like I must have arrived in one of the Marvel Universe's countless parallel universes.
In this world filled with all kinds of dangers, there must be countless people who crave power. Let me satisfy them!
