Background and History

School Life and Gwen Stacy

Peter is Li Ge’s classmate and one of his closest friends, alongside Harry. When Li Ge appears troubled, Peter sincerely offers to help; he is later saddened by Li Ge’s transfer but congratulates him and asks him to keep visiting 7 14.

Initially too embarrassed to confess to Gwen Stacy, Peter relies on encouragement from Li Ge and Harry. They maneuver him into admitting his intentions just as Gwen approaches. By Li Ge’s next school visit, Peter and Gwen are dating, and Peter openly credits Li Ge’s intervention 7 61.

Awakening and Joining Li Ge

During the Oscorp visit, Peter feels an unusual attraction to the experimental spiders. Later, while returning home after spending time with Gwen, he develops exhaustion and extraordinary strength. His powers reveal themselves publicly when a prank on the subway makes him leap onto the ceiling 64 69 70.

Remembering Li Ge’s prediction that he was “destined to be extraordinary,” Peter seeks him out. Li Ge shows him his private world and explains his plan to create a path to godhood. Peter agrees to help collect supernatural-power samples, seeing no wrongdoing in the task 70 74 75.

Li Ge pays Peter an ability-collection fee and gives him an outfit-changing ability to protect his civilian identity. This financial support changes Peter’s circumstances: he does not lose Uncle Ben through the underground-fighting events described as part of his otherwise possible future 76 77 119 362.

The Shared Secret Base

Peter tells Uncle Ben and Aunt May about his powers, Li Ge’s plan, and his payment. They advise secrecy and accept only a small portion of the money. Peter initially conceals his powers from Gwen and Harry while using Li Ge’s research institute for training, excavating a vast underground practice area 119.

Gwen and Harry eventually follow him to the institute, fearing he has joined a secret organization. Peter explains the spider bite, Li Ge’s private world, and the Path to Godhood. Afterward, the three use the institute as a shared retreat and research space, including studying improvements to Peter’s spider silk 127 128.

Superhero Work and the Trials

Peter fights Flint Marko alongside Harry, but his punch passes through Marko’s sand body and leaves his hand trapped. After Harry vitrifies much of Marko’s body, Peter notices that the remaining sand legs are still moving. He later brings the captive to Apocalypse, enthusiastically recommending his regenerative sand power for study 155 158.

Peter, Gwen, and Harry also enter Li Ge’s trials. In one classroom scenario, their bodies are reduced to ordinary human capabilities, making their weapons unexpectedly heavy. Peter retains his crime-fighting experience and volunteers to lead their breakout through the doorway 206 231 235.

Earth-616 and His Other Self

Peter travels with Li Ge’s party to Earth-616 and fights alongside Gwen and Harry using their enhanced equipment. During the later discussion of reversing Thanos’s Snap, Peter proposes that the dead should be allowed to choose whether to return, prompting Li Ge to reconsider how resurrection should work 295 301 311.

He also meets the Peter from the Endgame World. That counterpart tearfully recounts his losses involving Harry and Gwen; although Peter wants to interrupt, sympathy for his visibly worn-down other self leads him to let him speak 362.

Secrets, Dungeons, and Venom

Mary Jane eventually deduces that Peter, Harry, and Gwen are Spider-Man, Blood Angel, and Spider Queen. After attempting to evade her questions, the three apologize and take her aside to explain their secrets privately 348.

Peter becomes preoccupied with Venom, feeling an unexplained personal connection despite his counterpart saying Venom had never bonded with him. Gwen suggests that another version of Peter might explain the feeling. They also explore Spider-Man’s New York, a dungeon recreating familiar city landmarks in stick-figure form 365 366 367.

Peter later encounters Venom eating a man in Hell’s Kitchen and attacks in anger. He halts after Eddie intervenes, recognizes Venom from his counterpart’s information, and asks to speak with both Eddie and the symbiote 391 392.

Later Activities

Peter continues participating in Li Ge’s projects and his friends’ preparations. He reports having ten million points ahead of the auction, later helps inform Li Ge about hostile rumors, and trains with Gwen, Harry, Pietro, and Mary Jane against a simulated Chitauri invasion 420 441 524 612.

After the cultivation period in Zombie World, Peter and the others attend an Avengers meeting as Earth’s factions prepare for the approaching Skrulls 715.

Zombie World Counterpart

Zombie World’s Peter survives by scavenging supplies, avoiding unnecessary web use, and moving cautiously through ruined buildings. He shares a cave refuge with Bucky. An apparent dream takes him into Block World; discovering seeds in his hand afterward forces him to accept that he has crossed more than a dream boundary 560 562 563.

After receiving the Assimilation Ring, he learns that Li Ge intends to assimilate his world. Rather than reject the plan, he regards it as the best hope for a world devastated by zombies. He and Bucky begin distributing rings to other survivors, with Peter remaining near New York and Bucky traveling farther afield 566 567 596.

When Peter spots smoke near Mark’s settlement, he rushes to help. Vision’s refusal to answer him raises his suspicions, and he follows the bloody route through a huge zombie horde toward the settlement. He joins Mark’s defense while remaining wary of Vision’s involvement 596 599 601.

Appearance

Peter has a well-proportioned, muscular build, emphasized by his close-fitting Spider-Man costume 77.

  • Glasses: No longer wears them when he visits Li Ge after awakening his powers 74.
  • Spider-Man costume: A full-body red-and-blue suit with a web pattern and chest spider emblem 77.
  • Armored form: Becomes a large silver-gray figure with scarlet energy running across the armor and glowing red eyes 392.
  • Assimilated counterpart: Zombie World’s Peter acquires an unnaturally vivid, flawless texture; his skin, hair, and repaired clothing appear exceptionally clean and sharply defined 567.

Personality

Peter is sincere, considerate, and easily embarrassed. He checks on Li Ge’s emotional state, values their small circle of friends, and struggles to conceal his thoughts. Although usually quiet around others, he becomes an excited chatterbox with trusted companions 7 14 61 62.

His honesty sometimes conflicts with protecting secrets. He feels guilty about hiding his powers from Gwen but respects the trust behind Li Ge’s disclosures. His suggestion that the dead choose whether to return also shows concern for individual wishes rather than treating resurrection as an unquestioned benefit 69 119 311.

Zombie World’s counterpart retains his desire to save the weak but becomes more suspicious, decisive, and ruthless through prolonged survival. He abandons absolute trust in former allies and accepts lethal action against zombies and survivors who have lost their humanity 599.

Abilities & Skills

Spider Physiology

A spider bite gives Peter enhanced physical capabilities, assessed by Li Ge as equivalent to the second life level, Transcendent 75 128.

  • Strength: Initially tested at ten to twenty tons, before reaching his upper limit 75.

  • Limitation: Trial rules can suppress his physical powers to ordinary human levels 231.

Web Use and Research

Outfit Changing and Liquid-Metal Armor

Li Ge grants Peter an ability to change outfits; Peter later also uses combat armor released from a seal on his hand 77 392.

  • Instantly replaces his clothing with a Spider-Man suit 77.
  • Forms a giant armored body reinforced by scarlet energy 392.
  • Trusts the armor’s hardness enough to block Venom’s blades without forming a separate weapon 392.

Combat Experience

Peter develops practical experience through crime-fighting, trials, and supernatural battles 231 301 392.

  • Retains useful combat knowledge even when a trial removes his enhanced physique 231.
