"Did it work?" Sam asked with a frown.
"Either it worked, or he's dying." Samuel said calmly.
Dean was convulsed with pain, and fragmentary images began to flash before his eyes - Boris's fangs in the alley, Lisa's horrified face, and... Sam stood at the entrance of the alley, watching quietly as he was bitten, without moving forward.
The picture is fixed on the calm face of Sam. There is no worry or panic, only a calmness that is almost indifferent.
Over and over again, the more painful it becomes, the clearer it becomes.
Dean opened his eyes suddenly, gasping for air, and his whole body was soaked with sweat.
He looked up at Sam, with an imperceptible chill in his eyes.
During the day, the two of them packed up and prepared to leave. Dean walked out of the bathroom. His face was still a little pale, but his fangs had receded and his eyes had returned to their normal color.
"Hey." Sam looked up at him, "So, what did you see inside?"
Dean walked over, picked up his coat, and said in a deep tone, "I haven't fully understood it yet, but I am very sure that they did not do it by themselves. All orders come from the top. Where to go next and what to do are all arranged by the top."
"The top level?" Samuel asked.
"Their Alpha." Dean nodded.
"It should be. They seem to have some kind of telepathy, and he is sending them messages. Recruiting troops, that Alpha is building an army. This is not the worst - they are not afraid of us anymore."
Samuel sneered, "That's really good news."
In the parking lot outside the hotel, Dean took out his mobile phone and called Lisa. After a few rings, it was transferred to voicemail.
"Hey, Lisa..." As soon as Dean spoke, the voice prompt rang. He hung up the phone irritably, feeling panicked - he knew that it was completely over between him and Lisa. After all, he was not worthy of the life of an ordinary person.
"How's it going with Lisa?" Sam came over and asked.
"Nothing." Dean put the phone back in his pocket, his tone a little tired.
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay." Dean shrugged and was silent for a few seconds. He turned to look at Sam and smiled, but his eyes were very serious. "At least I still have you standing by my side. No matter what happens, I can count on you, right, Sam?"
Sam looked at him with no expression on his face. He nodded and said in a calm tone, "Of course, Dean."
The two of them got on the Impala, started the engine, and drove away from the town, kicking up the dust. Dean looked at the receding scenery outside the window, and the scene in the flashback reappeared in his mind repeatedly. He didn't speak anymore, and the doubts in his eyes slowly sank, like a stone buried in water.
At noon, Bai Haorui and Bobby rushed to the town and first went to the local police station.
In the past half month, more than a dozen homeless people and runaway teenagers have disappeared, but the police have treated them as just running away and have not taken them seriously at all.
Bobby took out the fake ID and frightened him, and got all the missing files.
After walking out of the police station, Bai Haorui stood on the roadside with his eyes slightly closed. Divine Sense spread out quietly like an invisible net, covering a radius of more than ten miles.
He opened his eyes a few seconds later, his eyes darkened. "An abandoned textile factory in the suburbs, full of blood. Forty-seven vampires, 11 of whom have just been transformed and whose minds are not yet complete."
"Forty-seven?" Bobby was stunned, "In the past, the entire hunter circle had to recruit people to handle it, and it's just the two of us?"
"No need." Bai Haorui turned around and walked towards the car, "Let's do it tonight, none of them can escape."
At night, the moonlight was obscured by clouds, and the textile factory in the suburbs was dark. Only a little blood-red light shone through the cracks in the windows, and a faint roar could be heard.
Bai Haorui walked around the factory wall, selected the five directions of metal, wood, water, fire and earth, and buried a tempered Five Emperor Coins in each.
With his fingertips, the power of the pale golden terrestrial veins spread along the copper coins, intertwining into a large invisible net in the air, covering the entire textile factory tightly - Five Elements Confinement Array. Not only can teleportation be blocked, but even the sound cannot be transmitted out. Even if the vampire inside screams, it will not be heard outside.
Bobby squatted next to the main entrance, placed the salt gun and holy water jars one by one, raised his head and asked, "You really don't have to wait for Dean and the others?"
"We have to wait for them to come over, at least tomorrow." Bai Haorui walked to the front door and slipped the peach wood sword into his hand. "The newly transformed vampire is not mentally stable and will run out to harm people if it takes too long. Just stay at the door and take any last hits that leak out."
The center of his eyebrows Lotus Seal lit up slightly, and the purple-gold True Fire slowly ignited on the blade of the sword.
"Boom--"
Bai Haorui shattered the heavy iron door with one palm, and with sawdust flying, he stepped in. The purple-gold fire on the mahogany sword illuminated the hall, and the first few vampires roared and rushed forward. Before they could reach them, they were swept away by True Fire, and they were instantly burned to ashes without even letting out a scream.
"Holy shit, just take it easy!" Bobby shouted at the door, "Don't burn the house down!"
"The formation locked the fire so it couldn't burn outside." Bai Haorui didn't look back and walked in Heavenly Gang Steps, taking his sword with him. Each sword brought up a string of sparks. When the vampire got a little spark, the flames penetrated along the skin and flesh into the soul, and they rolled all over the ground but couldn't be extinguished.
On the railing on the second floor, three senior vampires who had lived for hundreds of years looked at each other, jumped down at the same time, and surrounded them from three directions, so fast that only black shadows remained.
Bai Haorui made a secret with his left hand, and the five Five Emperor Coins buried in the ground flew up with a "swoosh" and formed a small array in the air. The golden light instantly trapped the three vampires in the middle. His eyebrows moved, and a pinpoint-sized purple fire floated out from Lotus Seal and flew slowly over.
"What is this?!" The vampire screamed in horror, trying desperately to break away from the formation, but the fire seemed slow, but blocked all angles, fell on his shoulders and spread instantly.
That is the ember of Samadhi True Fire. It does not burn skin and flesh, but only burns soul.
In just three seconds, the three vampires together with Bones turned into a plume of smoke, leaving not even ashes.
Bobby was stunned at what he saw at the door. There happened to be a frightened vampire who wanted to slip out of the side door. He raised his hand and shot the vampire. The salt bomb hit the vampire's chest, making a bloody hole.
In the innermost factory director's office, the head of the stronghold, an old vampire who had lived for more than two hundred years, heard the movement outside, grabbed a newly transformed girl and blocked it in front of him, pinched the girl's neck with his sharp claws, and roared, "Stand back! Or I will wring her throat!"
Bai Haorui stood at the door of the office, his eyes as cold as ice.
With a flick of his fingertips, a hair-thin True Fire shot out, accurately passing through the vampire's shoulder without even touching the girl's skin.
"Ah--" the vampire roared in pain. Just as he pushed the girl away and tried to fight back, Bai Haorui's body swayed and he was already in front of him, and the peach wood sword pierced his heart directly.
The purple-gold True Fire rushed in along the blade, burning his essence from the inside out.
The girl collapsed on the ground and trembled. Bai Haorui sheathed her sword, and a weak Gang Qi hit her on the back of her neck with her fingertips. The girl fainted.
The entire lair was cleared, and of the forty-seven vampires, not a single one escaped.
Bobby kicked open the file cabinet in the office and dug out a stack of documents and encrypted communication records.
He spread it out on the table and frowned more and more as he looked at it.
"Damn, it's really recruiting." Bobby pointed at the documents, "Look, the recruitment list, the blood bank supply route, and the new recruits' transformation schedule are all standardized processes. The signatures are all 'father's orders' - the so-called Alpha."
He pulled out another map, with more than a dozen strongholds marked with red pen, scattered across the United States, and the small town stronghold South Dakota was clearly on the list.
"More than a dozen strongholds?" Bobby cursed, "You son of a bitch!"
Bai Haorui walked over and tapped the center of the map with his fingertips, where a black mark was drawn. "Alpha's main nest should be here, it hasn't surfaced yet."
He turned to the last page of the document, which mentioned Samuel·Campbell, and said "Campbell Family progress is in line with expectations and is available."
Bai Haorui frowned suddenly, and lightly tapped the words "Samuel" with his fingertips - as expected, Samuel was involved in this matter, and it was no coincidence that Sam stayed by his side.
"One more thing," Bobby picked up a piece of paper, "It says that a living mouth was specially left in that stronghold in the south for long-term fishing for big fish... Why do I think it's Dean it's talking about?"
Bai Haorui was silent for a few seconds, then slowly spoke, "Sam has a piece of his soul missing, so he only considers pros and cons when doing things. If Samuel proposes a plan, he might acquiesce."
"What is this!" Bobby punched the table.
"He didn't mean it." Bai Haorui shook his head, "Without the soul, the empathy and bottom line have faded, and he doesn't even realize that he has gone too far." He paused, "Pack up your things and go back. Dean They should be done over there."
The two of them cleaned up the scene and drove back. The night was thick, and the car lights split the darkness.
Bobby said nothing, and the car fell into silence.
In the evening, Dean and Sam arrived at Bobby's house first. Dean still had a faint smell of blood, his face was pale, and the scar on his neck ached faintly.
"Bobby." Dean said hello and threw his coat on the sofa. "The things in the south are finished. Alpha is building an army. It's not a small matter."
Bobby nodded and was about to speak when the basement door creaked open. Bai Haorui came up from the stairs. He had just finished adjusting his breath, his face was rosy and his eyes were still clear.
His eyes swept across Dean's neck, then landed on Sam's face, and nodded slightly.
"The nest in the north has been destroyed, forty-seven of them, all destroyed." Bai Haorui put the file on the table, "It is the same system as the one in the south, and they are both recruiting points for Alpha. There are at least a dozen strongholds in the United States that are converting vampires in batches."
Dean picked up the map and looked at the dense markings on it, and his heart sank - this conspiracy was much bigger than he imagined, and it was not a small town at all.
"Samuel was also mentioned in the file." Bobby clicked on the file.
Dean's hand suddenly paused, and he subconsciously looked up at Sam.
Sam stood nearby with no expression on his face, as if he didn't hear anything, neither refuting nor surprised.
Dean The stone in my heart sank again.
Bai Haorui noticed the look in Dean's eyes, and also saw the hollowness in Sam's eyes.
He said calmly, "The next two things: first, keep an eye on Samuel and Campbell Family to find out what they are planning; second, find Alpha's main nest. He is building an army and will definitely do something big."
Everyone nodded.
It was late at night. Bobby went to the kitchen to get beer. Sam sat at the table and read documents. The living room was quiet.
Dean stood at the door of the kitchen, looking at Sam's profile, the still figure at the alley, and the repeated flashbacks when the antidote took effect, all replayed in his mind.
