Ch. 251Sam's idea

Bai Haorui exposed Crowley’s surveillance and helped plan to capture Brady, while Sam feared Brady might be his old college roommate and considered sacrificing himself to stop Lucifer. Dean and Crowley went to Niveus Pharmaceutical Company, where Dean’s attempt to lure Brady into a deal failed and Brady attacked him.

  • Bai Haorui told Dean and Sam that Crowley had planted listening devices, trackers, and a summoning array, then confronted Crowley when he arrived.
  • Crowley explained that Brady worked for Niveus Pharmaceutical Company and proposed luring him out to capture him alive and learn Pestilence’s whereabouts.
  • Sam realized Brady might be his former college roommate, and Crowley insisted Sam stay behind while he and Dean went to the company.
  • Sam asked Bai Haorui whether he could let Lucifer possess him and then jump into Hell’s cage; Bai Haorui warned him against it and promised they would find another way.
  • Dean and Crowley reached Niveus Pharmaceutical Company, where Crowley killed two guards and sent Dean up to Brady’s office alone.
  • Brady rejected Dean’s offer to trade for the Horsemen’s rings, declared he wanted revenge, and beat Dean, who then ran for the door.

Ch. 252Hatred

Dean and Crowley captured Brady, who was revealed as the demon who had deceived Sam and helped lead him to Jessie. Sam nearly killed Brady, but Dean and Bai Haorui restrained him so they could question Brady about Pestilence.

  • Crowley knocked Brady unconscious with a Devil’s Trap sack, and Dean took him back to the hideout despite Crowley’s warnings about Sam.
  • Brady revealed that he had been a demon since Sam’s sophomore year and had introduced Sam to Jessie, leaving Sam stunned and furious.

  • Dean took Sam into the hallway and reminded him that they needed Brady’s information before he could seek revenge.
  • Bai Haorui warned Crowley that he would be next once Brady was no longer useful, and Crowley backed down.

Ch. 253Crowley's Plan

Crowley failed to persuade Brady to cooperate, while Sam resisted killing him despite Brady taunting him about Jessie. Crowley made Brady a fugitive among demons, but a huge pack of Hellhounds attacked the safe house, forcing the group to prepare for a fight.

  • Crowley questioned Brady about Lucifer, but Brady refused to talk and dismissed Crowley's warnings.
  • Sam confronted Brady with Ruby's knife, but walked away without killing him because they still needed information about Pestilence.
  • Crowley arranged for a demon to believe Brady had betrayed Lucifer, making Brady a fugitive alongside Crowley.
  • A pack of more than a hundred Hellhounds emerged from the woods, and Bai Haorui realized they were targeting him.
  • Crowley warned that the Hellhounds had trapped them, and Dean and Sam ran to gather salt and holy water as the windows shattered.

Ch. 254Breaking out

Bai Haorui protected Dean, Sam, Crowley, and Brady from a pack of hellhounds, then fought the monsters alone so the others could escape. He drove off the remaining hellhounds but was wounded, and he headed after the others as Dean sped away in the Impala.

  • Bai Haorui used a protective shield against the invisible hellhounds and ordered Dean, Sam, Crowley, and Brady to escape through the back door.
  • Bai Haorui drew the hellhounds away from the house and fought the pack with his peachwood sword and true fire.
  • Bai Haorui wounded one leader hellhound and burned another, but the monsters injured his back and exhausted much of his true gang.
  • Bai Haorui unleashed Ten Thousand Starlights, terrifying the remaining hellhounds into fleeing into the forest.
  • Bai Haorui sealed his wounds and followed the others while Dean drove the Impala down the road with Sam and Brady.

Ch. 255Sam's choice

After Bai Haorui and the others escaped the hellhounds, Sam chose not to kill Brady, who was then killed by two pursuing hellhounds. The group learned that Horseman Pestilence planned to distribute Croatoan-infected vaccines from Niveus Pharmaceuticals in Chicago, and began considering how to attack the guarded headquarters.

  • Bai Haorui rejoined Sam, Dean, and Crowley, while Brady revealed that Horseman Pestilence was at Niveus Pharmaceuticals in Chicago and would launch a nationwide vaccine program in three days.
  • Sam refused to kill Brady, saying that killing him would not change the past and that Lucifer's forces would soon get him.
  • Two hellhounds killed Brady at the alley's exit, and Bai Haorui urged Sam to leave after the group witnessed his death.
  • Crowley confirmed that Pestilence's vaccines contained a modified Croatoan virus that could infect half the United States within seven days.
  • Dean, Sam, and Bai Haorui discussed Niveus Pharmaceuticals' security and possible entry routes, while Dean warned that Pestilence and even slight exposure to the virus were extremely dangerous.

Ch. 256Pestilence, death

Bai Haorui and the Winchesters planned to steal Pestilence’s ring while Sam privately resolved to sacrifice himself by jumping into Lucifer’s cage. After Bobby reported that Adam and Castiel were in danger, Sam told Dean he would jump into the cage if they managed to corner Lucifer, and Dean erupted in anger.

  • Crowley offered to help the group find Pestilence’s ring in Chicago, and Bai Haorui warned him not to scheme for the rings.
  • Sam admitted to Bai Haorui that he was still considering letting Lucifer possess him so he could seize control and enter the cage, but Bai Haorui insisted he would not let Sam die.

  • Dr. Green infected Mrs. Celeste with several diseases and watched her die, then refused to withdraw when a demon nurse warned that the Winchesters and Bai Haorui were approaching.
  • At Bobby’s house, Dean and Sam discussed Adam and Castiel’s capture, and Sam told Dean he would jump into Lucifer’s cage once they brought Lucifer to its edge.
  • Dean angrily confronted Sam and demanded to know if he had lost his mind.

Ch. 257Pestilence

Dean opposed Sam’s plan to sacrifice himself to stop the Apocalypse, while Castiel revealed that he had become fully human. At Pleasant Valley Nursing Home, Dean and Sam confronted Horseman Pestilence, but Bai Haorui arrived to shield them and begin purifying the plague-filled office.

  • Sam insisted that he had to end the Apocalypse, and Dean refused to let him sacrifice himself.
  • Castiel told Dean that he had lost his angelic powers and was now completely human, then warned him about Horseman Pestilence’s poison.

  • Dean knocked out the guard, and he and Sam found Dr. Green on the surveillance feeds and followed him toward his office.
  • Dr. Green’s plague overwhelmed Dean and Sam, and he taunted them as they collapsed inside his office.
  • Bai Haorui burst through the window, shielded himself from the plague, and placed Evil-Breaking Talismans to purify the room.

Ch. 258Obtaining the Pestilence Ring

Bai Haorui, Castiel, Dean, and Sam defeated Dr. Green and recovered the Pestilence ring, but learned that a nationwide swine flu vaccine might be part of Pestilence’s plan. Back at Bobby’s home, the group learned that Death would appear in Chicago and discovered Crowley had helped Bobby by taking his soul as collateral.

  • Bai Haorui fought Dr. Green with True Gang and fire while Castiel arrived and cut the Pestilence ring from Dr. Green’s hand.
  • Castiel killed the nurse demon, and Bai Haorui struck Dr. Green with Samadhi True Fire, but Dr. Green vanished after warning that they were too late.
  • Dean picked up the Pestilence ring, and Castiel and Sam suspected that Niveus Pharmaceuticals’ upcoming swine flu vaccine was dangerous.
  • Bobby told Dean, Sam, Castiel, and Bai Haorui that a catastrophic storm would strike Chicago and that Death would be there.

  • Dean demanded that Crowley return Bobby’s soul, and Crowley showed a photo of himself kissing Bobby, provoking Bobby’s anger.

Ch. 259Sam's resolve

Sam considered jumping into Lucifer’s cage, while Castiel warned him about the risks and Bai Haorui promised to stand by him. After Crowley revealed that Niveus Pharmaceuticals planned to distribute Croatoan Virus in its vaccines, the group split up to destroy the shipment and retrieve Death’s ring.

  • Bai Haorui confronted Crowley over Bobby’s soul, but Crowley refused to return it until he could escape safely.
  • Sam told Castiel he planned to accept Lucifer and jump into the cage, and Castiel warned that Sam would need to drink vast amounts of demon blood.
  • Bai Haorui promised to enter the cage with Sam if necessary, while Sam admitted to Dean that he doubted his ability to face Lucifer.
  • Crowley revealed that Brady’s company, Niveus Pharmaceuticals, planned to distribute Croatoan Virus in its swine flu vaccines nationwide.
  • Bai Haorui assigned Sam, Bobby, Castiel, and himself to destroy the vaccines, while Dean and Crowley headed to Chicago to get Death’s ring.

Ch. 260Destruction

Sam, Bobby, Castiel, and Bai Haorui infiltrated the Niveus Pharmaceuticals warehouse to rescue civilians and destroy a stockpile of viral preparations. When demons discovered them, Sam and Bai Haorui went to free the trapped workers while the others fought and planted explosives.

  • Bai Haorui used his Divine Sense to locate eight demons, three captive night-shift workers, and the viral preparations, then led the group into the warehouse through a ventilation duct.
  • A demon spotted the group, and Sam, Bobby, and Castiel fought the pursuing demons as they retreated through the warehouse.
  • Sam heard a captive woman calling for help and refused to leave the civilians behind, so Bai Haorui joined him at the break room.
  • Bai Haorui cut down the two demons guarding the break-room door and drove his sword into one of them.

Ch. 261Searching for Death

Bai Haorui and Sam rescued civilians from a demon-infested pharmaceutical warehouse and destroyed its viral solution, while Dean and Crowley searched for Death in Chicago. Bai Haorui arrived beside Dean at the pizza place, where he sensed an ancient aura of death inside.

  • Bai Haorui and Sam fought demons, freed three factory workers, and escorted them to safety.
  • Bai Haorui prepared a True Fire Formation, and Bobby and Castiel set the explosives before the group escaped the warehouse and it exploded.
  • Dean and Crowley drove to Death's supposed headquarters, but Crowley found no sign of him and admitted his information had failed.
  • Demons ambushed Dean, and Crowley helped him kill them before Crowley spotted Death in a pizza place across the street.
  • Dean approached the pizza place, but Bai Haorui arrived, stopped him, and sensed a deathly aura inside that surpassed the other Horsemen's.

Ch. 262Death's Demand

Dean met the Death Horseman, who offered him the ring in exchange for promising to let Sam enter Lucifer’s cage. Bai Haorui intervened when Dean hesitated, and the Death Horseman attacked them with death energy that Bai Haorui managed to hold back.

  • Dean entered the restaurant alone while Bai Haorui stayed outside and heard the Death Horseman explain that he wanted to be freed from Lucifer’s binding.
  • The Death Horseman said he would give Dean the ring and spare Chicago if Dean promised to let Sam enter Lucifer’s cage and stop him.

  • Bai Haorui refused to sacrifice family, and the Death Horseman gave Dean the ring while insisting Lucifer had to return to the cage.
  • Dean and Bai Haorui left the pizza shop with the ring and drove through the rain to Bobby’s house, where Crowley waited outside.
  • Dean placed all four Horsemen’s rings on the table and told Bobby that he had promised Death to put Lucifer back in the cage.
  • Bai Haorui said Death was truly bound by Lucifer’s spell but might be wrong that only Sam could lure Lucifer into the cage.
  • Bobby reminded Dean that Sam had repeatedly risked himself for others and asked whether Dean feared losing the fight or losing his brother.

Ch. 264Take Action First

Dean struggled with the plan to trap Lucifer because it could cost Sam his life, while Bai Haorui offered to risk entering the cage instead. The group agreed to prepare first, leaving the question of who would enter unresolved.

  • Sam said he should be the one to lock Lucifer back in the cage because he had released him, but Dean refused to accept that sacrifice.
  • Bai Haorui proposed using a formation, True Gang, Samadhi True Fire, and a Soul-Locking Formation to force Lucifer into the cage, offering to enter if necessary.
  • Crowley and Bobby urged everyone to focus on preparing with the four rings before deciding who might have to enter the cage.
  • Castiel agreed to find the cage's location and opening incantation, and Dean finally agreed that the group should prepare first.

Ch. 268Powerlessness (4)

At Stull Cemetery, Michael and Lucifer prepared to fight until Dean arrived to speak to Sam, while Bai Haorui, Castiel, and Bobby intervened to protect him. Michael broke through Bai Haorui’s formation and forced him to use a dangerous technique as Bai Haorui tried to keep the archangel occupied.

  • Michael and Lucifer met at Stull Cemetery and argued over their past and their orders before preparing to fight.
  • Dean crashed into the cemetery in the Impala and asked Lucifer to give him five minutes to speak to Sam; Michael moved to attack him.
  • Bai Haorui intercepted Michael with sword qi, while Castiel struck him with a Holy Oil Molotov and Bobby aimed his shotgun at Lucifer.

Ch. 274A difficult choice

Dean learned that Bobby and Bai Haorui had concealed Sam’s return for a year, then chose to leave Lisa and Ben to keep them safe from the monsters pursuing him. As Dean and Sam waited to bait a djinn, Dean was overcome by a guilt-filled hallucination, and Sam drove the creature away with a gunshot, leaving Dean unsettled by Sam’s cold composure.

  • Dean confronted Bobby about hiding Sam’s return, and Bobby explained that he wanted Dean to keep the peaceful family life he had built; he also revealed that Bai Haorui had known and remained in seclusion.
