Ch. 301Confirmation

Dean questioned Sam about leaving him to be attacked by a vampire, but accepted Sam’s explanation despite Bai Haorui’s doubts. The group identified Ashley Frank as Veritas and began their planned assault on her villa, leaving Dean and Sam descending into its blood-scented basement.

  • Dean confronted Sam under the truth curse about why he had stood by during the vampire attack, and Sam claimed he had frozen.
  • Bai Haorui recognized Ashley Frank as Veritas and explained how to confirm her identity and contain her powers.
  • Bai Haorui planned a Five Elements Binding Formation while Dean and Sam prepared to lure Veritas into her basement.
  • Dean, Sam, and Bai Haorui arrived at Ashley’s villa in the early hours, and Bai Haorui went to set up the formation.
  • Dean and Sam entered the villa, passed its black cats, and followed the smell of blood down toward the basement.

Ch. 302Sam's lies

Dean and Sam defeated Veritas, whose revelations confirmed that Sam was missing part of his soul and had deliberately risked Dean's life. Dean resolved to recover Sam's soul, and the group left to investigate the Campbell Family and Samuel.

  • Veritas forced Dean to confess his feelings about Sam, then exposed that Sam was missing a large part of his soul.
  • Sam and Dean killed Veritas with a dog-blood-soaked hunting knife, and Dean confronted Sam about deliberately letting a vampire bite him.
  • Sam admitted he had calculated that Dean would survive, and Dean beat him before Bai Haorui explained that Sam's capacity for emotion and guilt remained in Hell's Cage.
  • Bai Haorui promised to help Dean retrieve Sam's soul, and they decided to question the Campbell Family because Samuel had taken Sam out of Hell.
  • At Bobby's house, Bai Haorui told Bobby that Samuel carried the aura of a Hell contract, and they agreed to investigate the Campbells quietly until they had evidence.

Ch. 303Sam's Condition

Bai Haorui explained that Sam had returned from Hell with only part of his soul, while the rest remained trapped in Lucifer’s core cage. Castiel confirmed the diagnosis but could not help immediately because of the danger in Hell and the civil war in Heaven.

  • Bai Haorui told Dean that Sam’s human soul and memories had returned, but his heavenly and earthly souls and most of his emotions remained trapped in Lucifer’s core cage.
  • Bai Haorui suspected Crowley was behind Sam’s resurrection and urged Dean to find Samuel Campbell before confronting the new King of Hell.
  • Bai Haorui summoned Castiel, who examined Sam and confirmed that his main soul was locked in the core cage with Lucifer and Michael.
  • Castiel said he could not rescue Sam because the core cage was too dangerous and Raphael’s forces were taking power in Heaven, but promised to investigate.

Ch. 304Time to Act

Dean, Sam, and Bai Haorui visited Samuel Campbell’s heavily guarded outpost to question him about Sam’s missing soul and the monsters he was capturing. Bai Haorui discovered Crowley’s contract branded on Samuel’s soul, but Castiel confirmed Samuel was otherwise himself before leaving to deal with Raphael’s angels.

  • Dean, Sam, and Bai Haorui drove to the Campbell outpost, where Bai Haorui sensed numerous hunters and captured supernatural creatures inside.
  • Christian Campbell led them to Samuel, and Bai Haorui detected Crowley’s contract on Samuel’s soul and secretly scorched its edge.
  • Samuel said he did not know who had brought the Campbells back from the dead or what had happened to Sam’s soul.
  • Castiel arrived and confirmed that Samuel’s soul was intact and that he was not possessed or replaced.
  • Dean questioned Samuel about capturing monsters alive, but Samuel said he needed information about their growing numbers and cooperation.
  • Castiel left after learning that Raphael’s people were causing trouble in the east.

Ch. 305Questioning Museir

  • Samuel invited Dean, Sam, and Bai Haorui to join a hunt for an Alpha vampire, and Bai Haorui told Dean that Samuel had a contract with Crowley.
  • Gwen told Dean that Samuel had changed since returning, and the hunters set out before dawn to raid a farmhouse.
  • Samuel and Sam secretly loaded the captured Alpha vampire into a van, while Samuel later claimed the Alpha had been burned to ash.
  • Dean confronted Sam at camp and learned that Samuel had been catching monsters for Crowley in exchange for leads on Sam's soul.
  • Sam said he had kept the deal secret because Dean would have stopped him, and Dean was wounded by Sam's detached response.

Ch. 306Purgatory

Dean and Bai Haorui followed Samuel’s truck with Sam to an abandoned warehouse, where they secretly watched Samuel interrogate the Alpha Vampire about Purgatory. The Alpha revealed that Purgatory held the souls of monsters, and Dean confronted Samuel about why he wanted to find it.

  • Dean left Sam after their argument, and Bai Haorui explained that Sam’s missing soul had weakened his ability to feel empathy.
  • Dean, Bai Haorui, and Sam followed a GPS signal to an abandoned warehouse where Samuel was interrogating the Alpha Vampire.
  • The Alpha detected the three hunters despite Bai Haorui’s concealment barrier, and Dean and Sam questioned him about Purgatory.
  • The Alpha explained that Purgatory contained countless monster souls, while its location remained unknown.
  • Samuel entered, and Dean demanded to know what he wanted with Purgatory.

Ch. 307Breaking free

Samuel’s interrogation of Alpha ended when the vampire progenitor broke free and attacked the Campbell hunters. Bai Haorui intervened to protect Sam and battled Alpha, but the fight continued as Alpha switched to a faster form and launched venomous needles.

  • Dean confronted Samuel about serving Crowley, but Alpha broke his chains before Samuel could answer.
  • Alpha killed hunters and knocked Sam aside, then grabbed him and prepared to bite his neck.
  • Bai Haorui wounded Alpha with a true-fire ember and trapped him inside a barrier made with Five Emperor Coins.
  • Bai Haorui attacked Alpha with his peachwood sword and true-fire techniques, while Alpha broke through the barrier and charged him.
  • Alpha transformed into a faster form and attacked Bai Haorui with corrosive venomous needles, which Bai Haorui dodged with Bagua Lost Track Steps.

Ch. 308Crowley's plan

Bai Haorui defeated Alpha and tried to learn why Crowley wanted Purgatory, but Crowley arrived and revealed his deal with Samuel and his control over Sam’s soul. Crowley demanded Dean and Sam help him capture monsters and find Purgatory’s entrance, and Bai Haorui stepped forward to confront him.

  • Bai Haorui burned most of Alpha’s soul with purple flames and demanded to know where Purgatory’s entrance was and what Crowley wanted there.
  • Crowley emerged from the shadows, stopped Bai Haorui from killing Alpha, and revealed that Samuel had been working with him in exchange for help with personal business.
  • Crowley brought out the possessed Christian, confirming that he had placed a demon inside his nephew.
  • Crowley revealed that he had rescued Sam from Hell but retained part of his soul, and threatened to destroy it unless Dean and Sam worked for him.
  • Crowley demanded that they capture powerful, rare monsters and find Purgatory’s entrance so he could develop it; Bai Haorui stepped in front of Dean with his flaming sword.

Ch. 309Crowley's demands

Bai Haorui and the Winchesters accepted Crowley’s deal to recover Sam’s soul while secretly planning to undermine him and investigate Purgatory. They left the warehouse with Samuel gone and a strategy in place, as Bai Haorui recognized that the conflicts around them were only beginning.

  • Bai Haorui and Dean agreed to Crowley’s offer to trade Sam’s soul fragments for help catching monsters and finding Purgatory, and Crowley left with Christian and the Alpha vampire.
  • Dean confronted Samuel about serving Crowley to bring Mary back, but Sam stopped Dean from shooting their grandfather so they could keep Samuel as an ally and pursue Sam’s soul.
  • Dean and Sam agreed to play along with Crowley until they found another way to recover Sam’s soul, then planned to settle their score with him.
  • Bai Haorui advised them to withhold important monsters as bargaining chips, watch Samuel, and investigate Crowley’s Purgatory plan.
  • Bai Haorui promised to enter Hell and retrieve Sam’s soul if necessary, and Dean agreed to follow his plan.
