Background / History

Origins and the Ancient War

The God Realm was originally the Original Realm, part of the Original Beginning Realm. Information supplied by the Spirit of the Heavenly Dao revealed that a war between the Chaos Ancient Gods and Chaos Ancient Devils shattered the original world into two halves. Over countless epochs, these became the separate Beginning Realm and Original Realm 314.

According to Ye Jialuo, the Original Realm once belonged to the Devil Realm’s territory, and the Original Beginning Realm had connections to both the Devil Realm and Youming Realm. The Beginning Realm subsequently became known as the Divine Desolation Continent 313.

Tian Lingzi’s account credited the Holy Ancestor with leading the races’ powerhouses into the future God Realm, driving the Devil Race back into the Devil Realm, and sealing their passage. Xuanyuan Wushuang then named the liberated world the God Realm and its Spiritual Qi Divine Qi 115.

Many participating factions had established sects there during the war. Finding Divine Desolation’s cultivation conditions inferior, they remained in the God Realm, leaving inheritances and branch factions behind. This migration explained the disappearance of numerous ancient experts from Divine Desolation 115.

Sealed Connections

Later accounts challenged the Holy Ancestor’s reputation as a selfless protector. Zi Muyao recounted the Youming Realm’s tradition that its lord had helped the God Realm defeat the Devil Race, only for Xuanyuan Wushuang to seal their connecting passage after the allies returned home to recuperate 280.

Ye Jialuo attributed Xuanyuan’s actions to his desire to monopolize the Original Realm’s denser Divine Qi and more complete Heavenly Dao laws. He sealed the Beginning Realm away from the Original Realm and cut off the Youming Realm despite its assistance 313.

Knowledge of entry into the God Realm became concentrated among Divine Desolation’s hidden factions. They repeatedly suppressed news of the Ancient God Road, although the arrival of the great era threatened their control over that information 115.

The Evil God Hall

The Evil God Hall once terrorized the God Realm through Ancestor God Realm puppets and the strength of its master. Its destruction of sects and seizure of resources prompted an alliance against it, but its power allowed it to become a regional hegemon 267.

The Holy Ancestor eventually descended from the boundless chaos, killed its evildoers, and sealed the Hall and its puppets. He forbade its reemergence before an age of great contention 267.

The Age of Great Contention

The God Realm’s age of great contention began with world-spanning divine radiance, golden clouds, and purple Qi extending a million li from the east. Its faction leaders connected these signs to the final great age unfolding in the lower realm 207 208.

The era promised the emergence of previously inaccessible secret realms and opportunities, including possible connections with the Devil Realm. The Eternal Heaven and Earth Ranking later exposed sealed prodigies, and fifteen taboo geniuses awakened in succession 208 256 269.

Exposure of the Holy Ancestor and Reunification

Ye Xingchen destroyed the God Realm’s Qin Lineage, sending news of its fall throughout the regions. His investigation then brought him into direct conflict with Xuanyuan Wushuang 312 316.

Using the Great Dao Heaven-Reaching Mirror, Ye Xingchen broadcast their confrontation across the Original Realm. During the exchange, Xuanyuan inadvertently admitted killing Supreme Realm experts and absorbing their essence, exposing conduct incompatible with his public image 316.

The Spirit of the Heavenly Dao ultimately merged the Beginning Realm and Original Realm. Their sealed passage opened completely, the Ancient God Road connected them directly, and Chaos Divine Qi began descending into the former Divine Desolation Continent. A new passage to other worlds appeared on an island in the deepest reaches of the Endless Sea 321.

Geography and Environment

Six Great Regions

• Each region was comparable in size to the entire Divine Desolation Continent 248.
• Enormous interregional teleportation formations enabled rapid travel despite the distances between regions 248.
• The God Realm offered denser cultivation energy, more resources, stronger sects, and more opportunities than Divine Desolation 115 182.
• Upon arriving through a spatial passage, Ye Xingchen found himself on an enormous island where Divine Qi was several times richer than on the Ancient God Road 246.
• Glittering seas of stars surrounded the realm. Ye Xingchen sensed several Supreme Realm presences within them, establishing that the Holy Ancestor was not its only Supreme Realm cultivator 272.

Access and Travel

Ancient God Road

• Trials: The established route from Divine Desolation required entrants to traverse the Ancient God Road and pass its trials 115.
• Recruitment: God Realm factions evaluated lower-realm talents along the road. Their disciples used the first two trials to test affiliated lower-realm contestants before offering assistance 203.
• Final approach: Enormous peaks stood near the road’s end, with summits reaching into the clouds. The Reception Platform resembled a vast city 224.
• Age restriction: A golden barrier laid down by the Holy Ancestor prevented God Realm inhabitants over one hundred years old from entering the Ancient God Road 224.
• Sect migration: Same-Origin Formations allowed mighty God Realm experts to manifest Dharma bodies and transport affiliated lower-realm sects to the Reception Platform 224.
• Documented arrivals: Hua Xueyan brought the Ten Thousand Flowers Divine Palace across; Xiao Yajun brought the Purple Cloud Palace. Dao Wuya, Wuxin, Xue Qingxi, and Lei Lie likewise brought their factions, while Luo Tianfei agreed to receive Luo Qingshan’s lower-realm Demon Race disciples 224 225.

Cultivation Hierarchy

The God Realm as a place is distinct from the God Realm cultivation rank. Tian Lingzi’s records supplied the following ascending hierarchy 115:

• God Realm birth did not guarantee superior talent: some native contestants on the Ancient God Road remained at Void God, while lower-realm talents could advance further during its trials 198.
• Reaching Ancestor God required more than aptitude and comprehension; fortune and favorable circumstances were also necessary 267.
• Great Dao Divine Weapons remained exceptionally rare and could allow their wielders to defeat stronger-ranked opponents 212.

Lower-Realm Immigrants

Gongsun Xuanji explained that rumors of mistreatment mixed genuine loss of privilege with resentment from former lower-realm leaders 204.

• God Realm sects initially provided newcomers with residences and adaptation support 204.
• Some lower-realm ancestors demanded authority despite having cultivation below that of ordinary God Realm prodigies 204.
• After reckless orders caused disciple deaths, factions revoked those newcomers’ privileges and tied advancement to strength and assessments 204.
• Later immigrants were asked whether they would accept beginning as ordinary disciples. Many ordinary disciples welcomed the arrangement because conditions were better and treatment was equal 204.
