Ancient Origins and Authority

The Divine Palace’s origins and age are unknown even to many factions that have existed for countless epochs. Its founding master is the Divine Human Emperor, who is shown confronting an ancient evil while his vitality and cultivation gradually decline 590 593.

Long before Ye Xingchen’s arrival, the palace established rules governing movement between the Three Heavens and left city names and imitation Supreme Divine Steles throughout the Lower Three Heavens. When someone violated its decree by fighting inside a city and damaging a stele, both the offender’s Lower Three Heavens faction and its Middle Three Heavens counterpart disappeared overnight 577.

Ye Xingchen’s Succession

The Divine Human Emperor left a prophecy identifying a future successor: a young person whose true cultivation Shen Wuji could not discern and who possessed the Divine Palace Token. Shen Wuji recognized Ye Xingchen as a possible match and later described him as the destined lord who could restore the palace and suppress the ancient evil 611 621.

Ye Xingchen already possessed the token through a system sign-in, but initially withheld his identity. After entering the Upper Three Heavens, he deliberately released his presence through it. Shen Wuji sensed the signal and ordered every elder and core disciple to accompany him to welcome their lord 545 612 649.

The delegation bowed to Ye Xingchen in Myriad Realms City, publicly revealing his position. After Ye Xingchen departed for the palace with Yue Linglong, Shen Wuhen executed Chu Xiong for insulting the palace master and plotting against him 660.

Consolidating His Leadership

Some disciples initially believed Ye Xingchen owed his position merely to obtaining the token and Shen Wuji’s faith in the ancestral prophecy. The Five Emperors confronted him, and he offered to surrender the lordship if they could touch even a corner of his robe while he used no Divine Qi 667 668.

Ye Xingchen subsequently taught the disciples, provided cultivation opportunities, and distributed precious food. These gifts won their loyalty, but his declaration that their lives mattered more than the palace’s reputation particularly impressed its senior leadership 672 673 674.

Rivalry with the Heaven and Earth Palace

Relations with the Heaven and Earth Palace deteriorated over Heaven-Questioning City, which the rival faction effectively took over and stripped of its Supreme Divine Stele statue. According to Shen Xiyin, several covert battles followed, each ending in the Heaven and Earth Palace’s defeat 748.

The rival palace later pressured other factions to choose sides and excluded the Divine Palace from its Myriad Phenomena Heavenly Cry Banquet. Ye Xingchen attended anyway; Zhuge Yuntian recognized him and sealed the grounds with the Zhou Heaven Divine Baleful Intent Great Array. By the subsequent All-Heavens Grand Competition, the Heaven and Earth Palace had been destroyed and Zhuge Zhan was dead 730 749 756 788.

The Huang Lineage’s Challenge

The Hegemon Huang Lineage arrived for the All-Heavens Grand Competition aboard dozens of golden warships carrying hundreds of fighters. Shen Wuhen admitted them only after warning that all guests had to obey the Divine Palace’s rules 792.

During the confrontation that followed, Shen Wuji restrained the attacking Huang Lineage experts. Huang Wudi demanded the palace’s submission and information about the Supreme Divine Stele, threatening to use the Shihun Divine Art. Ye Xingchen instead encouraged Shen Wuji to fight him as a means of tempering his realm 808 809 813.

Ye Xingchen ultimately killed Huang Wudi and Huang Haotian. Witnesses recognized him as a No Realm powerhouse, overturning the belief that he relied on a Primordial Secret Treasure. He rewarded the palace with captured spoils and the lineage’s karmic luck, while allowing rival factions to struggle over its largely emptied territory 820 822 823 824.

A Place of Pilgrimage

For Ye Xingchen’s wedding, the Divine Palace hosted banquets stretching hundreds of li. Prominent factions entered the grounds, while less powerful visitors received the same precious food and wine outside the gates. The palace refused wedding gifts and instead offered gifts to its guests 850 851.

The celebration was disrupted when the Old Freak of the Mortal World killed a guest, stole wine, and challenged Ye Xingchen. After claiming to have incapacitated him, the rogue cultivator invited the assembled factions to recognize him as ruler, only to discover that Ye Xingchen remained conscious 855 861.

Following three days of sleep, the visiting experts awoke with breakthroughs or substantial cultivation gains. They bowed toward Emperor Peak in gratitude, establishing the Divine Palace as a place of pilgrimage and Ye Xingchen as the realm’s acknowledged sovereign 871.

Later Threat to the Ancestral Grounds

The palace remained a sacred land protected by its mistresses, who were counted among the Chaos God Realm’s strongest cultivators. Nevertheless, several Primordial Beginning Realm experts later demanded entry to its ancestral grounds and access to its treasures 1112 1125 1126.
