"You're Su Yi, right? You've really screwed us over. Now they won't even let us out!" Xiaopang sat on the bed as though both his parents had died. "When Young Master Yu comes looking for trouble later, just leave us out of it. We barely know each other."
Su Yi wasn't the least bit flustered. He smiled. "If you really want to go out, I can take you out."
"Do you know how many people are out there right now? Ye Hu, the Taekwondo Club president, is personally blocking the door. You'll take us out? How exactly?" Wang Junlin really felt he was unlucky enough. He had only run into Su Yi at the stairs and exchanged a few casual words with him. Earlier, he had even said the feng shui of Su Yi's ancestral graves was bad. Wasn't he the one whose ancestral graves had bad feng shui?
A calamity falling out of a clear sky-that described someone like him.
Su Yi had been targeted by Yu Xinghe because he had offended him, but who had Wang Junlin offended?
Getting killed like this was what they called taking a bullet while lying down!
"The Taekwondo Club president? Is he that good?" Su Yi knew about taekwondo, too.
That name had only been coined in 1955 in the land of the Korean sticks.
Over all these years, Su Yi had always done his best to keep his strength at the average level of the entire world. However strong his opponent was, he tried to be just as strong. By now, he felt he truly couldn't lower it any further.
Back when gods, Buddhas, demons, and monsters roamed freely, things had been all right; fights had still been somewhat entertaining. Later, there had still been some martial arts masters, and with their purely physical variations in moves, he had barely managed to lower his strength further.
Even the age of firearms had been somewhat interesting.
But wasn't this an age of peace now?
This so-called taekwondo seemed a little too childish to him.
Did it even count as martial arts?
"You're asking me if he's good?" Wang Junlin drew a deep breath and said through gritted teeth, "Last time, a basketball team captain got into a fight with him. The guy was six foot three, and half a month later, he's still lying in the hospital. With that little frame of yours, can you take a beating?"
Su Yi nodded. "I probably can, but I don't really want to fight him. That would be bullying him too much."
Lin Junlin pointed at Su Yi. "Fine! Keep bragging! Fucking lunatic! You even said Yu Huiyin was buying things for you. If she actually buys you anything, I'll eat that computer monitor right here."
Su Yi glanced at the computer monitor they had just put down and asked very seriously, "Is that thing edible?"
"Fuck!" Lin Junlin nearly died of anger on the spot.
Was that thing edible?
Looking at Su Yi's utterly serious expression, was that something a normal person would ask?
Su Yi said nothing more. When he came in, he had seen the chubby boy playing a game. He had sneaked a couple of looks and still found it quite novel.
Sure enough, this era had changed far too much. There were many things he needed to learn all over again. Moving into the dorm had been the right choice.
They waited in the dorm room for ten minutes or so.
Yu Xinghe returned to the boys' dormitory building with a whole crowd in tow. Yu Huiyin hadn't left yet, and she had already realized something wasn't quite right.
The third-floor corridor of the boys' dormitory was packed with heads. Clearly, something major was happening, and there was no telling how many people were around the boys' dormitory now.
"Yu Xinghe! What are you doing? I asked you to buy a few things. Why have you made such a huge commotion?" Yu Huiyin was nearly infuriated to death by her younger brother. This was clearly aimed at Su Yi. How could she not see that?
Yu Xinghe had been acting like a big shot just a moment ago, but faced with Yu Huiyin's questioning, he could only put on a smile. "What am I doing? I'm just buying things for him, aren't I? There's so much stuff, I can't carry it all by myself."
Yu Huiyin pulled Yu Xinghe aside and said seriously, "I told you not to provoke him! Don't provoke him! Don't you understand?"
Yu Xinghe chuckled. "Sis, that guy is probably someone the family arranged for you to go on a blind date with. You don't like him anyway, so what's wrong with me making him realize the difficulty and back off? Even if Grandpa finds out, it's not like he'll beat me to death, right?"
He didn't know that if his grandfather really found out what he was doing now, even if he didn't beat him to death, he would at least beat him half to death.
Su Yi was someone even Yu Guoan had to kneel before when he saw him. By doing this now, he was clearly courting death, and dragging his entire family into a pit of fire along with him.
Yu Huiyin said quietly, "I think if Grandpa finds out, he really might beat you to death!"
"Hah! I don't believe it! What family is that guy from? Su Yi? The Jinmen Su Family?" Yu Xinghe snorted. "Even if he's from the Jinmen Su Family, that's nothing special, is it?"
"I don't know either, so don't ask me. Just don't provoke him." Yu Huiyin's brows knitted tightly. "If you won't deliver the things, then don't. I'll go up myself." With that, she actually started toward the boys' dormitory.
"I'll deliver them!" Yu Xinghe hurriedly shouted. Let his sister go into the boys' dormitory to deliver daily necessities to another man?
Even he had never received that kind of treatment!
How could Yu Xinghe possibly allow something like that to happen?
"Then don't stir up trouble! I'll be watching from down here." Although Yu Huiyin didn't know Su Yi's background, and her grandfather hadn't explained it in detail, she could sense how much importance her grandfather placed on him.
If Yu Xinghe really did anything to Su Yi, Yu Xinghe would definitely be the one who suffered in the end.
"Okay, okay, okay! Sis, you can put all your worries to rest!" With that, Yu Xinghe beckoned to the crowd behind him. "Come upstairs with me to deliver the things."
There were actually quite a few of Yu Huiyin's suitors among the crowd behind Yu Xinghe. From the looks of things, it was clearly Yu Huiyin who had asked for these things to be delivered, so they, too, really wanted to see what was so outstanding about this person.
The crowd marched upstairs into the boys' dormitory building, while quite a few people gathered below to watch the excitement.
At that moment, Su Yi was still sitting in the dorm room, waiting. Yu Xinghe reached the doorway and kicked the door open, and a crowd of boys surged in behind him.
Then they locked the door from the inside.
Yu Xinghe saw Su Yi as soon as he entered, but merely raised his eyebrows. His gaze swept over the four people in the room. "Which one of you is Su Yi?"
The other three in the room all pointed at Su Yi in unison.
"Holy shit! It really is you?" Yu Xinghe laughed in anger. "Looks like enemies really do meet on a narrow road. So you're Su Yi?"
Su Yi nodded and smiled. "Thank you for bringing me the things."
"Bring you things, my ass!" Yu Xinghe asked, "Are you from the Jinmen Su Family? I'm warning you, stay away from my sister. Don't think it's settled just because the family arranged it. If I, Yu Xinghe, don't agree, nobody's word counts!"
"The Jinmen Su Family?" Su Yi said. "I'm not from Jinmen."
Yu Xinghe asked, "Is your dad Su Changqiu?"
Su Yi shook his head. "I think you've misunderstood. I live on Wutong Street and don't have any particular background. I'm not from a wealthy family, and I don't know your sister well either."
He wasn't from a wealthy family?
Yu Xinghe thought for a long while, then asked someone beside him, "Where's Wutong Street?"
The person beside him was also stumped for a long while before saying hesitantly, "I think there's a Wutong Street in the old part of town beyond the Fifth Ring Road."
