"The old district?" Yu Xinghe's expression turned rather colorful. "You're really not from the Jinmen Su Family?"
Su Yi asked in return, "Did I ever say I was from the Jinmen Su Family?"
"Then what the fuck are you acting so cocky for?" Yu Xinghe sneered. "So you're a broke bastard from the old district, huh? I bought your stuff. Pay up! A hundred thousand yuan! If you can't pay, this isn't over!"
Su Yi smiled. "Where would I get the money? If I had any, I certainly wouldn't have asked Yu Huiyin to buy it for me."
What the fuck?
Everyone in the dorm room was dumbfounded when they heard that.
That logic was downright unassailable!
But if you didn't even have the fucking money to buy daily necessities, why were you still so arrogant?
Was he planning to live off a woman and act like he was doing her a favor?
Yu Xinghe gritted his teeth and asked, "Do you think you're funny, or that you're so handsome my sister would go crazy over you?"
"Both, I suppose," Su Yi said in a subdued voice.
Fuck!
Yu Xinghe felt a tightness in his chest. If he exchanged a few more words with this guy, he might just die of anger.
"Get him!"
Yu Xinghe didn't want to waste any more breath. Settling things with fists was still the most direct approach. After those two simple, straightforward words, he turned away, not bothering to watch Su Yi get beaten to a pulp.
Ye Hu, the president of the Taekwondo Club standing behind Yu Xinghe, grinned viciously. Now was his chance to show what he could do.
Cracking his knuckles, Ye Hu slowly walked up to Su Yi.
Su Yi stood up too and asked, "You want to fight?"
"Kid! Aren't you supposed to be handsome? I'll beat your face into a pig's head today. Let's see how handsome you are then!" Ye Hu stood half a head taller than Su Yi, his imposing presence seemingly overwhelming everything already.
The other three in the dorm room turned their heads aside in terror, not daring to watch the bloody scene.
Su Yi stood face-to-face with Ye Hu. As Ye Hu raised his casserole-sized fist, Su Yi punched him in the bridge of his nose.
"Aah!"
That punch broke Ye Hu's nose outright, sending blood streaming down.
The bridge of the nose was an extremely sensitive, fragile spot to begin with. The intense pain made him scream, tears pouring uncontrollably down his face.
With that punch, Su Yi seemed to have gotten a feel for things. After all, he was working very hard to adapt to this society.
This was a university. In ancient times, these would all have been educated men, a bunch of scholars without the strength to truss a chicken.
Disputes between scholars should have ended with a battle of words, but now they were trading blows instead. Su Yi didn't want to beat the boy before him too badly, either. One little punch wouldn't seriously injure him, much less kill him.
That degree of force could be called perfect.
It also helped Su Yi get a feel for things.
"Ye Hu, don't hit him too hard. Just aim for the face." Yu Xinghe still thought the scream had come from Su Yi and tossed out the remark casually.
"I..." Ye Hu covered his nose with both hands in pain, blood running between his fingers. He was in no mood to fight Su Yi anymore.
Yu Xinghe turned back and froze again.
What the fuck was going on?
With Ye Hu's height and build, not to mention his training, someone had beaten him bloody in the time it took Yu Xinghe to turn around?
Yu Xinghe's face darkened, and he shouted, "Fuck! All of you, get him! Just leave him breathing! I'll take responsibility if anything happens."
The boys' dorm room wasn't spacious to begin with, and beds lined both sides. Even with the order to attack together, there was no way they could all get at him.
One student lunged at Su Yi.
Su Yi punched him in the bridge of his nose.
Another charged forward.
The bridge of the nose again...
In less than two minutes, screams filled the dorm room. Everyone clutched his nose, blood pooling across the floor. Anyone who didn't know better would have thought it was a murder scene.
Su Yi turned and walked to the bathing area at the back of the dorm room. He washed his hands with the water in a basin, then slowly walked up to Yu Xinghe.
Yu Xinghe felt like an idiot. He should have slipped out when Su Yi turned around just now. Why had he stood there stupidly in the dorm room?
Seeing Su Yi approach, he hurriedly covered his nose.
This guy's fighting skills were a little freakish!
A dozen or so people, every last one with a broken nose. It sounded easy, but actually doing it was another matter entirely.
Su Yi gave Yu Xinghe a warm, friendly smile. "I'm going out for a bit. You'd better clean up the blood on the floor, or I'll come looking for trouble with you."
Yu Xinghe's scalp prickled. Could this guy be one of those legendary experts descending the mountain to become a live-in son-in-law?
Su Yi paid no attention to what he was thinking and opened the dorm room door.
The third-floor corridor was still packed with people. When Su Yi stepped out, everyone looked at him.
But no one knew he was the person Yu Xinghe had come looking for.
Since Yu Xinghe and his group had gone inside, this person must have had Yu Xinghe's permission to come out.
Su Yi closed the door behind him, then went downstairs under everyone's gaze.
Yu Huiyin breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Su Yi emerge unharmed.
When Su Yi came out through the dorm building's main entrance, Yu Huiyin stepped forward and said, "It wasn't really convenient for me to go into the boys' dorm building, so I asked my younger brother to buy your things for you. Are you satisfied with them?"
"Fairly satisfied." Su Yi nodded. "Your brother is helping me tidy up the dorm room. Walk around with me some more. I have a few questions I'd like to ask you."
Yu Xinghe was actually helping him tidy up the dorm room?
Yu Huiyin found that rather unbelievable. Since when had that little brat become so considerate?
"Sure. Whatever you want to ask, go ahead." Yu Huiyin still didn't know exactly who Su Yi was, but since her grandfather had entrusted her with this, she could only do her utmost.
The two walked shoulder to shoulder through campus. Su Yi kept looking around, his attention nowhere near Yu Huiyin.
"You might find my question a little unbelievable, but don't think it's strange. I've only just come out of the mountains, and there are a lot of things I've never seen." Su Yi began with that explanation, then asked very seriously, "On the way here, I saw a lot of people holding something that lit up, and they kept pressing it with their fingers. What is that?"
"..." Yu Huiyin couldn't help stopping and turning to stare at Su Yi.
He called that coming out of the mountains?
Handsome, people would probably believe you if you said you'd come from Mars.
"That's called a mobile phone. It's used to transmit information, and you can make calls with it. Take a look." As she spoke, Yu Huiyin took out her phone and unlocked it with her fingerprint. "You can also play games, watch videos, listen to music..."
Yu Huiyin explained how to use the phone, but deep down, she still didn't quite believe what Su Yi had said. She thought he might have said it on purpose.
Was this some new way of picking up girls?
Su Yi listened very attentively. After all, mobile phones hadn't existed in the era before he fell asleep, and this tiny phone really did have quite a lot of functions. It seemed to have opened another door to a whole new world for him.
