When Lin Fei and Ji Yaoguang reached the foot of the building, they saw Song Hao standing beside a Ferrari.
He held a bouquet of roses and wore a confident smile.
Appearances could be deceptive. Judging by Song Hao's looks alone, most people would think he was a mature, refined man.
But to Lin Fei, who had lived for two hundred million years, the trace of wickedness buried deep in his eyes still had nowhere to hide.
It was his desire to possess Ji Yaoguang, to conquer her.
Yet Lin Fei merely glanced at him, regarding him as no more than weeds and dust, paying no heed whatsoever to this insufferably arrogant rich playboy.
Song Hao offered Ji Yaoguang the roses in his hand and smiled. "Yaoguang, I heard you just recovered from a serious illness. I came to see you."
Ji Yaoguang kept her distance and offered a measured word of thanks, then gave Wu Moling a meaningful look.
Wu Moling immediately understood and stepped forward to accept Song Hao's roses.
Song Hao frowned, then restored the smile to his face. "I'd like to take you to dinner. Would you do me the honor?"
He completely ignored the plainly dressed Lin Fei beside her, just as Lin Fei paid him no attention at all.
Ji Yaoguang declined politely. "I'm afraid I can't. My parents are waiting for me at home."
That was an outright lie.
Song Hao, however, thought nothing of it and continued with a smile. "Then how about going to the archery club together tomorrow? Our companies still have a joint project, don't they? I thought we could take the opportunity to discuss it properly."
Hearing him bring up an important business collaboration, Ji Yaoguang hesitated briefly before agreeing.
Song Hao gave a polite smile, then turned, climbed into his Ferrari GTB, and left.
But once the GTB had traveled some distance, the smile vanished completely from Song Hao's face. He put a Yellow Crane Tower 1916 cigarette between his lips, and Meng Zhe hurried to light it for him with a gleaming silver Zippo.
Song Hao took a deep drag and cursed darkly, "Fucking bitch. Who are you acting so high and mighty for?"
He had finally figured it out. Unless it concerned serious business matters, Ji Yaoguang would never accept any of his invitations!
This was just like a fucking simp and his goddess.
Since when did I, the young master of the distinguished Song family, ever become a simp?
He gave a sinister smile, inwardly resolving that he would get Ji Yaoguang and ravage her ruthlessly beneath him.
Meanwhile, after he left, Ji Yaoguang told Wu Moling to drive home.
Holding the large bouquet of bright roses, Wu Moling asked with some difficulty, "Yaoguang, what about these roses...?"
Ji Yaoguang did not even bat an eyelid. "Throw them away somewhere else."
The next day.
Rongcheng International Archery Club.
As a diamond member here, Ji Yaoguang finally returned after many days away.
Only this time was different. The person beside her was not Wu Moling, but Lin Fei.
Inside the spacious shooting range, Song Hao stared at Lin Fei with an unfriendly expression, a Yellow Crane Tower 1916 cigarette between his lips.
He had seen Lin Fei yesterday and thought nothing of him then. He had not expected him to still be at Ji Yaoguang's side today.
Song Hao took a deep drag and exhaled a few wisps of smoke.
Ironically, there was a no-smoking sign right behind him. Everyone saw this, but not a single person dared voice the slightest objection.
"Who's that man beside Ji Yaoguang?" Song Hao asked the bodyguard next to him with a frown.
The bodyguard glanced at Lin Fei and said quietly, "Not sure, but he arrived with Ji Yaoguang early this morning."
"Maybe..."
The bodyguard did not continue, for Song Hao's expression was growing uglier by the moment. "Maybe they spent last night together?"
No one spoke. For a moment, the atmosphere grew oppressive.
Song Hao sneered, the fury in his heart burning ever hotter.
The prey he considered already in his grasp was so close to another man, and might even have slept with him?
Song Hao felt as though he had been slapped hard across the face, leaving it burning with pain.
Accustomed to having anything he wanted and commanding the winds and rain in Rongcheng, he could never tolerate this!
"Find out his background." Song Hao forcibly restrained his violent impulses, thinking that a stranger capable of winning over the proud Ji Yaoguang might have a powerful background. He could not act rashly.
Having made that decision, he put on a sanctimonious air and walked over.
Several minor playboy lackeys and bodyguards immediately followed him.
Seeing Song Hao and his group approach, a club member beside Ji Yaoguang immediately paled and kindly warned Lin Fei, "Brother, Song Hao and the others seem to be coming for you. You'd better be careful."
After saying that, he quietly slipped away as though avoiding snakes and scorpions. He even managed to force out a fawning smile toward Song Hao and greeted him politely as "Young Master Song."
But Song Hao did not even glance at him, ignoring him completely.
Quite a few others watched the scene and whispered among themselves. Some looked on with gloating anticipation of a good show, while others felt sympathy and concern for what awaited Lin Fei.
With his hands clasped behind his back, Lin Fei glanced indifferently at Song Hao. "Need something?"
Beside Song Hao, Meng Zhe looked thoroughly displeased and thought through gritted teeth, This guy's such a fucking poser. I really want to beat him up!
Song Hao put on a false smile, displaying the hollow courtesy of someone from the upper classes addressing an insignificant figure beneath him. "Hello, my friend. My name is Song Hao. I'm a friend of Ji Yaoguang's."
"I know most of the people who come here for archery, but I don't know which family's young master you are. What should I call you?"
Lin Fei smiled faintly. "Lin Fei. Ji Yaoguang's personal bodyguard."
The group froze briefly, and a mocking expression appeared on Song Hao's face. "A bodyguard?"
He had thought Lin Fei had a powerful background. Never imagining that he was merely a lowly bodyguard, he now dismissed him completely, without the slightest remaining apprehension.
What was more, Ji Yaoguang had rejected him, yet was so close to a fucking lowly bodyguard?!
Am I not even as good as a bodyguard?
Song Hao felt he had suffered an enormous humiliation.
Before he could express his position, the third-rate playboy Meng Zhe could no longer hold back and openly displayed his contempt. "Hahaha! So you're a bodyguard. And here I thought you were somebody!"
"How much can Ji Yaoguang pay you? Why not work for me? I'll give you thirty thousand a month. Hehe, you won't have to do much, either. You're pretty good-looking. Just lie face-down on my bed like a good boy every night."
By this point, undisguised disgust had appeared on Ji Yaoguang's face.
Meng Zhe went for both men and women and was an absolute pervert.
Noticing the change in Ji Yaoguang's expression, Song Hao immediately reprimanded Meng Zhe harshly, prompting him to apologize meekly, though he still made no attempt to hide his disdain for Lin Fei.
Song Hao felt he needed to appear a little more magnanimous. He could not let Ji Yaoguang dislike him, but he also had to make Lin Fei thoroughly embarrass himself in front of her.
So he smiled with feigned friendliness. "Do you know archery? How about we have a little fun?"
Lin Fei thought his archery was rather poor. At the very least, shooting that Three-Legged Golden Crow Emperor back then had taken some effort, so he gave an "honest" chuckle. "I know a little. Having some fun won't be a problem."
