Wang Dong entered Shrek Academy under a male disguise and became Qian Chaoguang's roommate. Their early relationship was abrasive: Wang Dong expected indulgence and resisted even sharing dormitory cleaning, while Qian Chaoguang refused to accommodate her spoiled habits 35. Despite this, she became the Power Attack System member of their champion team, fighting with the Light Goddess Butterfly and Clear Sky Hammer Martial Souls 73 107.

She was raised within the Clear Sky Sect by Da Ming and Er Ming, whom she calls Big Father and Second Father. The sect's vast resources supported her cultivation; after one visit home, they gave her ten million Gold Soul Coins as spending money, allowing her to acquire and fuse a Golden Mang Left Arm Bone 156.

Wang Dong's apparent identity concealed a severe violation of her soul. Tang San had divided away Tang Wutong's original six years of memories and part of her soul, merging them into the Three-Eyed Golden Lion. The personality known as Wang Dong emerged afterward within the remaining blank soul and was nurtured by Da Ming and Er Ming, making her a distinct new life rather than Tang Wutong restored 404 654.

She enjoys teasing Qian Chaoguang, calling him “money-grubber,” but is equally quick to demand better equipment or training opportunities 626 732.

Her confidence conceals periods of insecurity. During a team battle, she confided in Huo Yutong that she felt useless compared with her teammates, then responded by cultivating with unusual discipline and intensity 238 284 285. She also fiercely defends those she accepts as friends; when Da Ming and Er Ming distrusted Qian Chaoguang and Huo Yutong, Wang Dong publicly confronted them over their treatment of her guests 415.
