Background

Lin Jie is a transmigrator who spent his early life in poverty. He worked from childhood to support himself and eventually earned admission to Qingbei University, the country’s most prestigious university 1.

After losing their parents, Lin Jie and his younger sister, Lin Zhi, were raised by Yan Sheng, whom they called Uncle Yan. Yan Sheng treated them as his own children and left them the house they lived in. When he died of illness before Lin Jie turned ten, responsibility for supporting Lin Zhi fell to Lin Jie 45.

Under the name LJ, Lin Jie became a phantom thief known for stealing antiques, famous paintings, and wealthy businessmen’s fortunes while repeatedly outwitting the police. His theft from Zhou Lan targeted both money and evidence of Zhou Lan’s criminal dealings with police chief Zheng Yi. He intended to expose their crimes after escaping 6.

Lin Jie is confident, competitive, and difficult to intimidate. When Zhu Lun accuses him of being a werewolf, he quickly recovers from his surprise and becomes excited by the challenge. He relies on composure and persuasive speech even when the accusations threaten his life 11.

His morality combines protective instincts with calculated ruthlessness. He wants to punish Zhou Lan and Zheng Yi, feels guilty that his attack on Liu Yunyun may have killed her, and rejects the idea of becoming everyone’s enemy. Nevertheless, during his apparent return to reality, he knowingly uses the unconscious Li Xin as a bomb-bearing decoy to recreate his original escape 5 6 23 25.

Death and the Execution of God

After being shot beside his stolen money, Lin Jie awakens in a dark corridor. His supposed guide, Angel, claims to offer reincarnation and demands his ring as a ticket. Lin Jie exposes the deception rather than surrendering it 1.

He enters a nine-player Werewolf game with a completely blank role card. After unraveling two false Seer claims, he discovers his own Seer role and establishes that all the players are good. His investigation of position zero confirms that God, the host, is the only Werewolf 6 10 14 18.

Lin Jie leads the survivors in voting to execute God. When the host is immobilized, Lin Jie removes his ring to carry out the execution. He then refuses Fox’s offer of immediate gold rank, preferring a chance to return to his sister and finish his plans 21 22.

Apparent Return to Reality

The portal appears to send Lin Jie back to his infiltration of Zhou Lan’s mansion, with his memories intact. He retrieves the criminal evidence and recreates his bombing scheme using Li Xin as a double, hoping to draw out his killer 24 25.

He subsequently experiences a confrontation in which Lin Zhi takes a bullet meant for him. After killing the gunman, he shoots himself at midnight to return to the Realm of the Dead and search for her 27 28.

This sequence is later challenged as an Illusion created by Fox. Zhou Yun says Lin Jie never truly returned, and Lin Zhi remembers being shot at home while her brother was absent—not shielding him from a bullet 39 40 41.

Human-Ghost Game

Reunited with Lin Zhi, Lin Jie enters the Green-rated Human-Ghost Game alongside Chen Li, Xia Qu, Zhao Tian, and Yu Ze. Despite hoping to share his sister’s Human faction, he draws the Little Ghost role 29 30.

He first proposes a rotating talisman arrangement presented as a route to maximum Human rewards. In the seventh round, he reveals himself and introduces a Coexistence Plan. Rescue and Divine Awakening

Lin Jie subsequently chooses a stag mask to become an Administrator, but the Resistance Army attacks before he can wear it. He escapes with Lin Zhi and learns that the Realm of Life specifically targeted him for rescue based on the Oracle’s predictions 38 39.

During an Aurora Church ambush, he refuses to abandon the soldiers protecting him. His purple-ring bluff fails to stop One-Eyed Dragon’s attack, but his black ring awakens and destroys the attacking force. The survivors hail him as their savior 42 43 44 45.

The Deer God and the Void Realm

At the Realm of Life, Lin Jie reunites with Yan Sheng and learns that the Oracle has predicted he alone will save everyone. Shen Lanxin then identifies him as the Deer God, citing a meeting with his future self 45 46 47.

Meanwhile, a bloodied figure resembling Lin Jie visits Lin Zhi and disappears through her window. The figure’s identity is not established in the available account 47.

Speaking through Shen Lanxin, the Oracle tells Lin Jie that he must enter the Void Realm and seize one of the gods’ rings. She predicts his eventual leadership of the world, confrontation with the king of the gods, and attainment of godhood. Lin Jie promises to rescue her; these trials remain ahead of him 50.
