Personality

God maintains a smiling, theatrical manner while overseeing lethal proceedings. He praises entertaining introductions, applauds the players’ performances, and responds to questions about death with casual mockery. His composure extends to executions: after killing Zhu Lun, he returns to his seat expressionlessly and resumes the game 3 5 6 14.

He regards the players as inferior beings, calling them “lambs” and “ants” when they turn against him. His apparent confidence collapses into frenzy after their unanimous vote, and he refuses to accept that mortals could defeat him 22.

Despite presenting himself as the authority behind the game, he is subject to its rules. He reluctantly gives Lin Jie an accurate Seer result identifying himself as a werewolf, even though doing so exposes him 18.

Werewolf Transformation

God can change between a masked human appearance and a giant werewolf. Chen Li attributes this transformation to his Mutation, though he presents that explanation as a supposition 2 22 23.

Story Role / Major Arcs

Hosting the Werewolf Game

When Lin Jie enters the game room, God is a werewolf eating a corpse. He forces Lin Jie into a seat, assumes human form, and introduces himself as the game’s host. He explains that victory offers the dead a chance to return to life, while elimination destroys their souls 2 3.

God requires introductions before assigning roles. He permits lies and claims that the quality of each introduction determines its recipient’s card. After praising Lin Jie’s account of his life as the phantom thief LJ, he distributes the cards; Lin Jie’s is blank 3 5 6.

Deaths and Misleading Suspicions

The first night ends with the elderly player dead and revealed as a Villager. Lin Jie later establishes that the Witch’s antidote and the Guard’s protection can combine to kill their shared target through “overhealing” 7 19.

During the following discussion, God’s explanations help Lin Jie disprove Li Xin’s and Zhu Lun’s false Seer claims. The players vote against Zhu Lun, and God executes him by tearing away his ring together with his finger 10 12 14.

Exposure as Player Zero

After persuading everyone to abstain from an execution, Lin Jie deduces that none of the nine seated players is a werewolf. Remembering the host’s original appearance, he selects position zero for his Seer inspection. God is visibly shocked but supplies the required wolf-claw result 18.

God subsequently approaches Lin Jie during the night but cannot kill him because Chen Li has protected him. Liu Yunyun, seated beside Lin Jie, is found brutally mutilated at dawn 19 20.

Lin Jie publicly identifies God as the lone werewolf. He explains that the blood-written number “3” had misled the group into believing there were three wolves, then reveals that the host has a player number and can therefore be executed 20 21.

Execution and Aftermath

All six surviving good players vote for number zero. God transforms and lunges at Lin Jie, but freezes before completing the attack. Lin Jie removes his ring, killing him and ending the game 21 22.

Fox later explains that Lin Jie’s Mutation changed the game’s rules and raised its difficulty to purple rating. On Lin Jie’s next return to the Realm of the Dead, Fox identifies the executed host as Canglang and calls him a dear friend 23 28.
