The massive figure roared, waves of sound spreading outward. Even Chu Tiannan, hurrying along up ahead, was affected.

On one side were the masses of demon beasts closing in around him; on the other were the base city's walls, so close at hand.
"Hold on, we're almost at the safe zone!" Chu Tiannan clenched his teeth until his gums bled, drawing out every last bit of his body's potential. Almost every second, his sword rose and fell,
leaving another demon beast's corpse behind!
"Stop trying. If you don't abandon me now, you'll die too!" Luo'er's weak voice came from the young man's back.
With difficulty, she could see him continually fending off the demon beasts surrounding them, and her heart actually began to ache for him.
