Background / History

Blacksmith of Iron Ox Village

Before cultivation, Tie Dali worked as a blacksmith whose family’s ironware sold throughout the surrounding towns. He claimed never to have fallen ill and to have become stronger as he grew older. Lin Feng discovered that he possessed six innate traits, including talents for physical vitality and equipment forging 5.

His wife initially tried to stop him from leaving with Lin Feng. When Lin Feng questioned why neither of his two presumed sons possessed cultivation aptitude, Tie Dali connected this with his existing suspicions: neither resembled him or shared the Tie family’s aptitude for forging. Convinced that his wife had been unfaithful, he renounced the household, declared that the family property should be divided among the villagers, and left to cultivate 5 6.

Joining the Evergreen Sect

Lin Feng accepted Tie Dali as his first inner disciple despite his poor spiritual root, valuing his six trait slots. His initial cultivation was slow, but Lin Feng revealed that one day outside the sect equaled one year within it and promised that his aptitude could eventually be changed. Deeply moved, Tie Dali knelt and thanked his master for refusing to abandon him 6 7.

Lin Feng fulfilled that promise by granting him a Heavenly Spiritual Root shortly before the first recruitment competition ended. The replacement also raised the Evergreen Sect’s score from 396 to 1,396, securing first place 11.

Tie Dali later became Equipment Hall master and was identified as the sect’s first personal disciple and eldest senior brother. By the first sect assembly, he demonstrated late Foundation Establishment cultivation to the newly recruited disciples 23 33 43.

Appearance

• Burly build: His powerful physique and vigorous blood and qi are especially apparent in combat 36 43.
• Unremarkable older appearance: New disciples initially see an ordinary-looking older man before witnessing his strength 33.
• Visible aging without frailty: After seven years of sect time, his face appears more mature and aged, but Growing Stronger with Age keeps his body powerful and energetic 17.

Personality

Tie Dali is earnest, hardworking, and deeply grateful to Lin Feng. He devotes himself wholeheartedly to cultivation even when his original aptitude offers little prospect of quick progress. Lin Feng’s confidence in him inspires an emotional declaration of loyalty 7.

In battle, he eagerly volunteers against powerful opponents and remains determined after suffering setbacks. Against the Purple-Stripe Demon Ape, he continues fighting through a painful shoulder injury, using a brief opening to defeat a stronger enemy 14 26.

As the sect’s oldest disciple, he looks at its younger members differently from his peers. He protects Liu Yurou’s breakthrough from interruption and warmly offers Lu Daxi protection after the latter’s cooking heals his lingering injury. Nevertheless, memories of the children he believed were his own still disturb his Dao heart 29 37.

• Subdues the surviving pack through its strongest remaining wolf. The captured wolves subsequently serve as sect mounts, patrol assets, and mountain guards 14 16.

Myriad Spirits Secret Realm

• Cooperates with Liu Yurou to kill two Mystic-Patterned Rock Bears, opening an advanced hidden-vein spring stronghold for Lin Feng to claim. The battle develops their coordination and combat experience 21.
• Defeats the Purple-Stripe Demon Ape, a lord-class beast at the peak of early Foundation Establishment, despite having weaker cultivation reserves. Its death halves stronghold-capture difficulty and doubles rewards for every sect in the realm 26.
• Sustains external and minor internal injuries in the ape battle. Healing pills aid his recovery, while Lu Daxi’s later spiritual meal removes a lingering arm injury 27 37.

Myriad Demon Abyss

• Serves as reserve support while Liu Yurou engages the demonic sect. When its lord uses a forbidden art to reach mid Foundation Establishment and overpower her, Tie Dali intervenes 36.
• Kills the lord with two punches, leaving no remnant soul to escape. He and Liu Yurou then spend the night hunting down absent members, completing the sect’s destruction 36 37.
• Returns with news of something unusual deep within the abyss, which Lin Feng elects not to investigate immediately 37.

Technique Competition and Spirit City Defense

• Personally earns 650 points in the cultivation-art training competition, helping establish the Evergreen Sect’s overwhelming lead 38.
