In the library, Sean guided Blaise through his revision while speeding through books himself, hoping to catch up with the Potions Club's discussion pace before the end of his first year.
"Sean, exams start the day after tomorrow. What do you think I should do if I fail?"
Looking at the bewildered Blaise, Sean kept his head down as he read and said, "Instead of wasting time worrying about gains and losses, you should memorize the second volume of my Transfiguration notes, then go back and practice more. The Transfiguration exam is mostly practical. As long as you get the practical exercises down reasonably well, you should at least get an A, a pass. You won't fail."
Blaise scratched his head in irritation, then calmed himself and went back to grinding through Sean's notes.
It had to be said that Sean's notes saved Blaise a great deal of time. Without them, Blaise would definitely have been in a far more miserable state by now.
Aside from Flying Class, first-years had only seven compulsory subjects.
Potions was Sean's strongest subject. Next came Transfiguration, Charms, and Defense Against the Dark Arts; with the time and effort Sean had deliberately devoted to them, his grades in those three subjects were also excellent. Lastly came History of Magic, Herbology, and Astronomy. Aside from Herbology, which he had studied alongside Potions and was fairly good at, Sean could only say he was passable at History of Magic and Astronomy, with no great advantage over the other outstanding young wizards.
So even before the exams began, Sean already had a good idea of what his grades would be.
