Childhood in Bo City

Mu Ningxue grew up at Mu Family Manor alongside Lu Ling and Ye Xin Xia. Her father, Mu Zhuoyun, initially interfered with her relationship with Lu Ling, but stopped after Lu Ling’s master intervened with the Demon Judgment Sword. Her independent Ice awakening at fourteen attracted the main family’s attention and prompted Mu Zhuoyun to hold a celebratory banquet 2 48.

Her mother left her ice crystals associated with the Ice Crystal Bow. Absorbing them rapidly increased her cultivation, but exposed her to dangerous cold. Lu Ling secretly gained access to the bow and assumed its side effects through contact with her; she initially understood his help only as a lasting warmth 2 3.

Imperial Capital Academy

Mu Ningxue later studied at Imperial Capital Academy, where her beauty and strength earned her numerous admirers. During Lu Ling’s intervention in the Bo City disaster, she felt the bow resonate and the cold that had troubled her for two years disappear. Their reunion revealed that he had been bearing its burden for her 14 15 16 45.

She joined the Jinlin City training expedition and was already close to Advanced Level by its third day. Afterward, she continued cultivating in the Imperial Capital rather than accompanying Lu Ling, determined not to fall too far behind him. Ice Bow fragments and his Star River Vein subsequently enabled her Advanced Ice breakthrough 51 69 88.

Mu Clan Crisis and National Team Selection

Mu Ningxue became implicated through her blood relationship with Mu He of the Black Vatican. The Mu Clan considered expelling her branch, threatening the National Team place she had worked toward. Lu Ling identified the clan’s deeper interest in her as that of a vessel used to nurture the Ice Crystal Bow, rather than a genuinely valued family member 88 112 116.

Lu Ling confronted the clan, secured four nomination votes for her, and insisted that her competition achievements would not belong to the Mu Clan. Although the clan reversed its position and began supporting her, she chose to meet Mentor Feng Li herself, stating that she would prove her strength without further backing. With the bow included, her strength was assessed as no weaker than Ai Jiangtu’s 118 120.

National Team Journey

During the team’s coastal training, Mu Ningxue froze the surrounding sea to restrict Sea Monsters and cast Icebound Coffin while maintaining her domain. In Japan, she prepared to use the bow to help endangered teammates, but Lu Ling’s arrival interrupted its formation. She later helped Mu Tingying care for the severely injured Nan Rongni 137 138 159 161 162.

The bow continued to erode her soul despite Lu Ling’s protection. He sought Tianshan Tranquil Dew to protect her independently of his presence; after taking it, she reported that the familiar chill was gone 199 232.

World College Tournament

Mu Ningxue demonstrated rapid constellation formation during the tournament’s opening match, producing five Ice Coffins to cut off Ming Busong’s escape routes. Against Spain, her ice-and-snow suppression helped collapse the opposing defense after its key Water mage was eliminated. That performance brought her international recognition 298 317.

Life in Spirit City

Mu Ningxue later moved to Spirit City. When Lu Ling returned with Aurora, introduced as both his master and wife, Mu Ningxue welcomed him back. She also grew close to Qin Yuer after learning about her experiences as an Ice Element Calamity Survivor; their shared affinity with extreme cold led to regular visits over tea 473 476.

At her awakening banquet, she slipped away because being displayed before the guests made her feel like “a monkey in a zoo.” Her public reserve contrasts with the shyness, affection, and jealousy she shows around Lu Ling 2 45 87 247.

She values mutual trust and dependable companionship. Although she benefits from Lu Ling’s protection, she worries about the cost he bears and initially hesitates to accept an expensive Star River Vein. She also pursues cultivation independently and refuses unnecessary help once the obstacles to her National Team selection have been removed 49 51 69 120.

Her loyalty extends to her friends. She is deeply distressed by Nan Rongni’s injuries and later asks whether Lu Ling is forcing Nan Rongni and Mu Tingying into serving him. After their denial, she promises to preserve their friendship and protect them from mistreatment 160 294.
