Lu Ling, Ling Ling, and Asharuiya escaped a relentless pack of Black Demon Tigers by reaching a red spider lily clearing the beasts would not enter. After recovering, Lu Ling recognized Asharuiya despite her Chinese alias, and he and Ling Ling decided to venture farther into the forest with her.

• Asharuiya told Lu Ling and Ling Ling that marked Black Demon Tigers would pursue them until one side died or they left the forest, and she admitted she was lost too.
