He is outspoken about surprising results and practical concerns: he reacts with disbelief to Yan Qing’s 501-point spiritual power, praises the academy for funding expensive Spirit Ascension Platform visits, and dismisses the meager gains left by defeated robbers. Despite his competitive streak, he expresses no interest in becoming a Shrek class officer 14 15 18 29.

History

Eastsea Academy and Class Zero

Xie Xie is already a member of Wu Changkong’s Class Five when Yan Qing arrives. In their introductory spar, he teams up with Tang Wulin, attacking from the flank while Tang Wulin advances directly. Yan Qing manipulates their timing with Once and Future, making Xie Xie’s dagger strike Tang Wulin’s arm. The resulting uncontrolled Golden Dragon Claw sends Xie Xie flying, but Wu Changkong catches him 10.

Wu Changkong selects Xie Xie, Yan Qing, Tang Wulin, and Gu Yue for the promotion tournament. Xie Xie sits out the fighting against Class Four, and Long Hengxu later notes that he has not participated in either of the first two promotion matches. Following Class Five’s victories, he becomes one of Class Zero’s six founding students 10 11 13 14.

During Class Zero’s riot-period Spirit Ascension Platform assessment, he serves as scout under Yan Qing’s leadership. His warning about an approaching team helps the group prepare its response to three Soul Masters attempting to rob them 17.

Shrek Entrance Assessments

Xie Xie travels with Class Zero to Shrek City. The group’s late arrival means that successful applicants must enroll as work-study students 22.

He completes the endurance assessment and later supports the survival-round operation near a valley alongside Xu Xiaoyan. The team finishes that round with full marks and enters Shrek as work-study students 23 24.

Class Officer Selection

During Shrek’s simulated class-officer selection, Xie Xie resumes scouting ahead. Zheng Yiran’s team ambushes him; although he evades the first attack, a second hidden opponent injures him before his teammates arrive to protect him 26.

He later appears to be eliminated by Wu Siduo’s Hell White Tiger. That apparent defeat is part of Yan Qing’s illusion: when it ends, Xie Xie and the other teammates remain present with only minor injuries. After the assessment ends early, he declines a class-officer position 28 29.

Shop Work and Final Examinations

Yan Qing recruits Xie Xie and Tang Wulin as temporary staff at his Battle Armor blind-box shop. Xie Xie explains that the collectible cards have unequal drop rates and uses his employee discount to purchase five or six boxes 31.

During the final examinations, Holy Spirit Cult activity forces the students to abandon individual travel and regroup under Wu Changkong. Xie Xie drives their rented soul guidance car. For the subsequent match against Tian Ding Starry Sky Academy’s flying team, Yan Qing assigns him to attack opponents who fall from the sky 38.
