Yan Qing is opportunistic, irreverent, and highly conscious of risk. He treats his knowledge of the original story as a practical resource, using it to identify mission loopholes, anticipate crises, and negotiate profitable deals. His respectful praise of Yu Xiaogang conceals a dismissive opinion of the Grandmaster’s theories, while his apparent prophetic insight is built around foreknowledge 7 8 34 37.

His confidence does not prevent caution. He conceals his strongest Martial Soul, withholds conspicuous abilities during broadcasts, and withdraws from opportunities that could draw the Holy Spirit Cult’s attention. Yan Qing joins Wu Changkong’s Class Five, defeats Tang Wulin and Xie Xie together, and helps the class advance through the promotion tournament. He becomes part of Class Zero and emerges as its battlefield commander 10 12 14 17.

His investigation of the Man Faced Demon Spiders begins as an attempt to complete an apparently impossible Tang San-era mission. After an initial retreat from a ten-thousand-year spider, he spends three years cultivating and accumulating Tang Sect contributions. His final Eastsea hunt completes the mission and raises his spiritual power to the Spirit Abyss Realm 15 16 21 22.

Shrek: Admission, Business, and Illusion Combat

Yan Qing earns a perfect entrance score and enters Shrek as a work-study student. He converts his forging expertise into a battle armor blind-box business, then demonstrates the expanded power of Simulation during class-officer selection 24 25 27 29.

A Soul Spirit Tower expedition resolves the brush Martial Soul’s apparent ten-year limitation but leaves him facing a two-hundred-million-Federation-Coin bill. His subsequent match with Ye Xinglan ends in victory at the cost of his One-Word Battle Armor 30 32.

Final Examination and the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well

During Shrek’s penniless travel examination, Yan Qing follows anticipated plot events to earn resources. He warns conductor Mo Lan about a train hijacking, later reaches Heaven Dou City after defeating Dark Bell, and bargains with Zhen Hua using four sealed prophecies 34 35 37.
