They followed these people, heading towards the palace.
In just a few minutes, Ning Fengzhi arrived at the Imperial Palace of Martial Soul Imperial City.
" Sect Master Ning, Pavilion Master Jun is waiting inside the main hall. Please go in yourself."
The leader bowed to Ning Fengzhi and then slowly began to speak.
Ning Fengzhi nodded slightly and walked towards the main hall on his own.
Pushing open the door, a building resembling a grand auditorium appeared before Ning Fengzhi. The interior of the hall was not brightly lit, but the entire hall was magnificent and resplendent.
Inside the main hall were seven large, jet-black pillars, each radiating the Divine Power of the Seven Deadly Sins Gods. In the very center sat a figure with long, jet-black hair, delicate features, and a white robe. Judging solely from his appearance, he was undoubtedly a handsome young man.
Yet, he exuded an indescribable aura of power, as if all the fortune in the world had converged upon him at this moment.
The boy slowly raised his head and looked in Ning Fengzhi's direction. " Uncle Ning, you've arrived."
His voice was soft and gentle, like a spring breeze.
" Xiao Yi, I've come to keep my appointment today," Ning Fengzhi said slowly, a smile on his face and his eyes filled with excitement and relief.
Jun Yi slowly stood up and walked towards Ning Fengzhi. " Uncle Ning, is there anything you still cherish in this world?"
Ning Fengzhi was slightly taken aback; he hadn't expected Jun Yi to ask him that.
So he shook his head, smiled, and said, "No, I have no more attachments."
"If this matter is settled, then I will see you off in your final moments. Please come with me."
Seeing that Ning Fengzhi had agreed, the young man smiled, and then the two left the main hall and headed out of the city.
Outside the main hall, watching the snowflakes falling continuously from the sky, half an hour later, two figures appeared outside the city. Ning Fengzhi stared blankly at the vast expanse of white snow in front of him.
" Uncle Ning, I promised you that I would let you retain your memories and reincarnate, and that I would send you to her side. However, I cannot guarantee that Xu Rong'er will fall in love with you in the next life."
Ning Fengzhi turned his head and looked at the white-robed youth before him, his eyes filled with gratitude. " Xiao Yi, I have no regrets in this life. It is enough that Xu Rong'er was able to meet my reincarnation. As for the rest, I only hope that in the next life, I can be worthy of her."
Jun Yi smiled slightly, "In that case, I'll begin."
As soon as he finished speaking, Jun Yi took out the God of Death artifact, the Soul-Ferrying Feather Cloak, and with a wave of his hand, a black light shield appeared in front of Ning Fengzhi. Immediately afterwards, Ning Fengzhi light, and the next moment, he appeared in this white world.
Snowflakes drifted down from the sky, landing on his body and face, melting between her brows.
His body was so light, as if a gust of wind could blow him away from the snow.
Then a woman appeared before him. She had delicate features, red lips and white teeth, and bright eyes that sparkled in front of him. Then her eyes slowly closed, and a voice, choked with sobs yet incredibly familiar, rang in his ears.
" Fengzhi, you've arrived. I've been waiting for you here."
The voice was familiar; upon closer listening, it was indeed Xu Rong'er's voice. Just a simple greeting filled Ning Fengzhi's heart with emotion.
The usually composed and stern Sect Master Ning, who had maintained his elegant demeanor for many years, suddenly lost control of his emotions and burst into tears. His body trembled uncontrollably, and his eyes were filled with tears that seemed about to fall.
He tried his best to maintain his composure, but the elegance he had cultivated for years crumbled at this moment.
He cried like a child, his cries were heart-wrenching.
He seemed to have a lot to say, but when the words reached his lips, he choked up and couldn't speak.
" Rong'er... I..."
Ning Fengzhi out to touch the woman's fair and jade-like face, but half of her sleeve slipped from his fingers.
Xu Rong'er stepped forward and embraced Ning Fengzhi, gently comforting him, "It's alright, Fengzhi, it's all over now."
Their embrace was so tight, so deep, so passionate, as if they wanted to melt each other into their very bones and make each other a part of themselves.
At this moment, all words seem so pale and powerless, and all sorrow is released in this silent weeping.
Ning Fengzhi held Xu Rong'er's hand tightly, afraid that all of this was just a dream and that he would lose it all when he woke up.
His voice choked with emotion as he spoke haltingly, " Rong'er... I... I miss you so much, I..."
Seeing Xu Rong'er again and holding her in his arms once more, Ning Fengzhi had a thousand words in his heart, but he couldn't say them.
He felt as if time had stood still at that moment, and all the turmoil in his heart had subsided.
After an unknown amount of time, the two slowly let go of each other.
Ning Fengzhi gazed at her, his eyes gentle as water, " Rong'er, how have you been these past years?"
A sly glint flashed in Xu Rong'er's eyes. She smiled faintly, "I'm fine. All these years, I've been by your side, watching over you."
Hearing this, Ning Fengzhi's face showed a hint of guilt. " Rong'er, I'm sorry, I've let our daughter down."
Xu Rong'er showed no blame on her face, only shook her head slightly, "As long as you have a clear conscience, I will support whatever you do."
" Rong'er, it's me."
"Let's talk as we walk; we don't have much time left."
"Um."
The two then held hands, their fingers interlaced, and strolled through the vast white snow. Their footprints were gradually covered by the snowflakes, leaving only faint traces.
In the real world, Ning Fengzhi was covered in snowflakes. He had a smile on his face, but his eyes were lifeless, and he was devoid of any vitality.
Ning Fengzhi fulfilled his wish, but in a way, he died at Jun Yi's hands.
Jun Yi stood aside, silently observing all of this.
His eyes seemed to see through life and death as he watched Ning Fengzhi and Xu Rong'er strolling in the snow. Their laughter and words echoed in this white world like a beautiful melody.
They seemed to be reminiscing about the past, those wonderful times, those dreams from their youth.
Jun Yi didn't disturb them; he simply stood quietly to the side, watching them, his heart filled with blessings.
Ten years have passed, and we are separated by life and death; though I try not to think of you, I cannot forget you.
Jun Yi unleashed a Divine Power from the Soul-Ferry Feather Cloak, forming a red rope that bound the two men's wrists together.
"That way, you won't get separated," Jun Yi said calmly.
After saying that, he Ice Seal Ning Fengzhi's body, turning it into an ice coffin. The next second, Jun Yi in the cemetery of Spirit City and placed his body next to Xu Rong'er's tomb, which had just been moved there.
They placed it in a pit that had already been dug.
Jun Yi then had a stele carved for Ning Fengzhi, with a poem inscribed on it.
Ten years have passed, and we are separated by life and death; though I try not to think of you, I cannot forget you.
A lonely grave a thousand miles away, nowhere to speak of my sorrow.
They gazed at each other speechlessly, only tears streaming down their faces.
