Background / History
Clear Sky Twin Stars
In his youth, Tang Hao traveled the continent with his elder brother, Tang Xiao. Their achievements with the Clear Sky Hammer earned them the reputation of the Clear Sky Twin Stars. During these travels, Tang Hao met Ah Yin and fell in love with her 32 34.
Ah Yin was a hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Grass Soul Beast, identified more specifically through the Blue Silver Emperor ring and bone she left behind. Their son, Tang San, inherited both the Clear Sky Hammer and Blue Silver Grass Martial Souls 32 33 35.
Conflict with Spirit Hall
Spirit Hall’s pursuit of Ah Yin led to its conflict with Tang Hao. He gravely wounded the reigning Pope, Qian Xunji, who subsequently died after treatment failed. The confrontation brought Spirit Hall and the Clear Sky Sect into open hostility; the crisis subsided only after the sect withdrew from the world and Tang Hao disappeared 32.
By the time of his reappearance, Tang Hao had been absent from public view for over a decade. He secretly followed Tang San to Shrek Academy and watched its admissions test, including Gu Yang’s demonstration of strength 32 34.
Discovery and Death
Gu Yang connected Tang San’s surname, twin Martial Souls, and age to Tang Hao. He reported his deductions to Ning Fengzhi and suggested that Tang Hao possessed a hundred-thousand-year Soul Bone alongside two inherited Clear Sky Sect bones. Ning Fengzhi chose to investigate, both to obtain those treasures and to remove a potential threat from the rival sect 32.
Ning Fengzhi, Sword Douluo, and Bone Douluo confronted Tang Hao in the woods near Shrek Academy. Tang Hao initially asked them to overlook his presence, but attacked when Ning Fengzhi made their interest in Soul Rings and Soul Bones clear. After preliminary exchanges, he detonated his hundred-thousand-year ring and unleashed Sumeru Overwhelms the Heavens against Sword Douluo 33.
Sword Douluo’s God-Demon Dual Slash left him physically unharmed while causing Tang Hao’s existing internal injuries to erupt. Recognizing that he was beyond saving, Tang Hao attempted to kill Ning Fengzhi as a final contribution to the Clear Sky Sect. His thrown hammer used Bone Douluo’s interception to curve back toward its target, but Gu Yang appeared and blocked it with a skeletal defense reinforced by Ning Fengzhi 34.
With that attempt defeated, Sword Douluo pierced Tang Hao with Seven Kill Sword Qi. Tang Hao died apologizing to his grandfather, father, and elder brother for the suffering he had brought upon their sect 34.
Posthumous Legacy
Seven Soul Bones were recovered after his death: his six-bone set and Ah Yin’s unabsorbed hundred-thousand-year right leg bone. Ning Fengzhi offered all seven to Gu Yang, who selected only the Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone 35.
Absorbing that bone strengthened Gu Yang’s vitality and, under Shikotsumyaku’s influence, granted three skills. It also led him to the Blue Silver Forest, where the Blue Silver King recognized the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline within him and began awakening it 35 36 37.
Appearance
- Face: Haggard, unkempt, and stubbled, with weathered eyes 33.
- Skin: Bronze, visible through tears in his clothing 33.
- Clothing: Coarse, repeatedly torn hemp garments and a tattered hemp cloak concealing his face 33.
- Bearing: Retains a Titled Douluo’s formidable presence despite looking markedly diminished from his high-spirited youth 33.
Personality
Tang Hao is decisive but not unwilling to negotiate. Facing the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect’s strongest trio, he first requests discretion and offers to remember their kindness. Once their intentions become clear, he attacks without hesitation 33.
His concern for Tang San leads him to watch over his son secretly. Nevertheless, he is ruthless toward opposing sects: during his final attack, he welcomes the possibility of killing Gu Yang alongside Ning Fengzhi, recognizing the damage that losing both its leader and its young prodigy would inflict on the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect 34.
Guilt toward the Clear Sky Sect dominates his final moments. Rather than attempting a futile escape, he tries to weaken its rival as recompense for having implicated his own sect in his earlier conflict 34.
Abilities & Skills
Clear Sky Hammer
- Uses whole-body coordination, transferring force from his calves through his waist and arm into sweeping hammer strikes 33.
- Can enlarge the hammer dramatically; Sumeru Overwhelms the Heavens brings it down like a small mountain while uniting wielder and weapon 33.
- Retains enough striking power while mortally weakened to threaten Ning Fengzhi with a single thrown hammer 34.
Great Sumeru Hammer: Ring Detonation
- Detonates his hundred-thousand-year ninth ring, causing its red radiance to fade while his Soul Power surges 33.
- Uses the resulting power to support Sumeru Overwhelms the Heavens 33.
- The subsequent clash aggravates his pre-existing hidden injuries beyond recovery 34.
Clear Sky Nine Absolutes
- Applies the Swinging Character Art and Entangling Character Art to control a thrown hammer’s spin and trajectory 34.
- Calculates Bone Douluo’s interception in advance, using the deflection to accelerate the hammer again and redirect it toward Ning Fengzhi 34.
Soul Ring Configuration
| Ring Position | Color | Age Category |
|---|---|---|
| First–second | Yellow | Hundred-year 33 |
| Third–fourth | Purple | Thousand-year 33 |
| Fifth–eighth | Black | Ten-thousand-year 33 |
| Ninth | Red | Hundred-thousand-year; Blue Silver Emperor 33 |
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Clear Sky Sect inherited right arm bone — One of two inherited sect bones in his possession; its energy is described as particularly violent 35.
- Clear Sky Sect inherited left leg bone — Dark cyan, with energy fluctuations comparable to the inherited right arm bone 35.
- Four additional ten-thousand-year Soul Bones — Complete his absorbed six-bone set, including a torso bone. Their quality is below that of the two inherited bones 35.
- Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone — A crystalline blue-gold bone belonging to Ah Yin, kept unabsorbed. Gu Yang speculates that Tang Hao either could not bring himself to use it or intended to save it for Tang San 35.
